You need to take either a reading comprehension course, or a course in the elements of joke composition.

    ... or both.

What is this use of the aggregate? Did you pay it all yourself? Or was it the broken down expenditures of many millions of people?
I happen to know that you have spent $200,000 on Cocoa Puffs for breakfast. What a shocking sum! But since it was one bowl at a time, a small amount per day, I’ll let it slide.

    Sigh …….
Do you even understand that both those things are ONLY RELEVANT if it answers the Topic’s question?
Sigh ……. Let me rephrase …….,
    New question.
    Two parts.
1.) Premise: the Brotherhood spent about $84,000,000 sending 11 railroad boxcars packed with letters to the Russian Government to try and influence them, which were never delivered, and never read, for which the Universal Postal Union paid the Russian Government about $57,000,000 to deliver (70% of face value of the postage). The 60% of the Brotherhood that sent 10 letters each spent about a day each doing this. That is 4.8 million days, engaged in political activity, attempting to influence the Russian Court system.
    2.) The rephrased question:
Do you think the GB should respect the Brotherhood enough to provide translated Official Russian Court transcripts, so the Brotherhood can see the results of the fruits of their labors?
    ………………….
I mean, after all, the Russkies were paid about $57,000,000 for SOMETHING! ….. and the Society IS IN the translation “business”.

    Website link please.
Is this website "illegal"? Because WTJWorg in Russia is banned. Assume, website is crated in some other country.

Perhaps the outcome of all this "persecution thing" depended on “God’s will,” and little or nothing at all on the efforts of JW lawyers, prayer, and letters. Or yet, nothing depended on “God’s will,” because he “allows” things to happen.
So, the real answer does not exist to, why JWs in Russia suffer, if they are not extremists. That is, all the answers to the question of "why", are correct. It depends on the position of the observer who comment.
On the other hand, the answer to, why there are no transcripts on the JWorg official site is not elusive. It’s not “spiritual food at the right time,” so why would it be on the “spiritual table” prepared by GB.

I am not hostile to what was done, or any side effects that were incidental, correctly labeled.

I WOULD however, like to read the original un-edited Russian Court transcripts in English.…… something tangible.  I think it is INCREDIBLY important not to base one’s understanding of those events on third-hand agenda driven very abbreviated summaries.
As far as a massive witness given the world over about this ….. the legal and political battle was fought with “the army they had” …. and they lost, miserably.

Of course not, but that WOULD HAVE been an unintended consequence other than the clearly stated goal of the project, which was to influence the Russian Government to stop the persecution of the Brotherhood.
It’s sorta like renaming the goals and moving the goal posts AFTER the footballl game is lost to the other team, and declaring that your efforts were a success, because you sold a lo of hot dogs and beer.

Another good question would be to ask is:
Why would any sane person have 5 of 8 million Brothers write 48 million letters, each at international postage rates, to lobby the outcome of a Russian kangaroo  court system, where the outcome was decided (obviously, to all sane people ….), BEFORE the trial started?
If it was a bribe attempt, funneling $57,000,000 through the Universal Postal Union, which the Russian Government did get …. It was a complete failure, as nothing was achieved except to enrich the Russians.

Show trials in Russia are just political theater to consolidate and enhance political power and authority, and perhaps …. just perhaps …. sucker someone into a useless and very expensive lobbying effort.

In the USA, Congress does most of the political theater …. Usually tragic self-destructive comedy.

In any conflict between Nations, either on the battlefield, or in the cultures, or in this case, a Tribe (JWs), and a Nation (Russia), the first casualty is Truth.
"Make sure of all things, hold fast to what is fine." is apparently a casualty of this conflict .... shot in the back from "Friendly Fire".
Not only that, the very concept of "making sure" is disparaged as an unnecessary unimportant chore, worthy of disdain.
    Very, very sad.

It must be acknowledged that every individual and every group of like-minded people are looking for a way to draw attention to themselves. It is done in different circumstances and in different ways. And with certain goals.
In this endeavor, one thinks first of oneself and not of others. So what I want to say. Which religious group wants to draw the attention of political authorities, the judiciary and the executive power on different/opposite religious community who are under persecution?
Did WTJWorg launch an international campaign, of any kind, against the persecution of Jews, Muslims, Protestants, or other ideological groups (in Russia or elsewhere)? As far as I know they are not. Has WTJWorg launched an international campaign against some other type of oppression or crime that concerns people other than JW?
So the point is that we are selfish by nature and just think of ourselves. WTJWorg is no better at this than others, although it is declaratively said that we are all equal before God. Through the theology of the JW Church seen, all JW members are equal before the God YHVH. But all who do not belong to the JW church have a little worse position before their God YHVH.
Writing letters organized by the WTJWorg Administration is a political decision. With the aim of influencing the political power of the secular state. So, human life is generally imbued with politics of any kind. The story of JW’s “political neutrality” is irrelevant, it’s ridiculous. We are all part of something that creates, in an active or passive way, politics.
Whenever WTJWorg acts on the decisions of a secular state, it supports the policy of that state. So there is no neutrality here. Neutrality? It is most often demagoguery and delusion.

Also. We must keep in mind that millions of these JW letters are not in Russian language. Why should someone/anyone in the office of the Russian government translate these letters into Russian language, for free or for a commercial price?

I wish HGP had been around when the subject was first discussed, it might’ve saved about 1 million words.
But, willy-nilly, I still would like to have accurate information of exactly what went on during the court cases, so I suppose I’ll have to write the Russian embassy in Washington DC.
I will do that later on this weekend.

The Kingdom of God is not far off from you.  However, the answer Jesus gave to some of his disciples in private was to the specific question, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the Sign of your Presence and of the Conclusion of the system of things?”(Matthew 24:3)
Today, all the peoples SEE this Sign, but only those having insight will understand. (Daniel 12:9-10)

Some folks on here are soooo like the Leaders of the Watchtower / JW Org in pretending they know more than others.
If a person says that Jesus DID know, then it would appear they are calling Jesus a liar.
I keep coming back to the point that even if a person knew which year the scriptures work out to, that does not take into account the fact that the time will be 'cut short', and no one knows by how much it will be cut short.

Dmitar got a reaction from JW Insider in The Last Days that began in 1914 are now coming to their End...
There is a parallel with the Bible Student history chart that is relevant for this discussion that does not align with some opinions here as well.
Two of the listed association renounced it’s fellowship with the Bible Student Association in 1909. The Free Bible Students. That association formed the New Covenant Believers, Christian Millennial fellowship, Free Bible Student Association.
Paul S. L. Johnson was skeptical about Russell’s teaching since 1905 and subsequently lead the Free Bible Students to depart from Russell’s teaching in 1909 as depicted in the chart. This error and lie is not noted in the Bible Student history with that point of departure, since “Henninges” wrote to Russell trying to persuade him to change certain views and when Russell refused, Henninges and the Melbourne congregation left to form their own movement which was called “ the New Covenant Fellowship” in 1909 that is not mentioned in that chart?
That chart doesn’t include how, pilgrim M.L. McPhail and A. E. Williamson from the Chicago Bible Students actually formed the “New Covenant Believers” in 1908 and started their own publication The Kingdom Scribe?
These groups are not mentioned in that chart since it try’s to depict in a simplified manner the major known groups of all the “independent” Bible Students. Keep in mind, Russell didn’t agree with many of the understandings independent congregations were offering as insight. Some of that insight included Millerism, which Russell did not accept nor support.
I just thought this correction should be included here. Not everything written in WIKI should be considered factual.

You seem to fail to understand the complexities of how the Bible Student association work. They are independent of each other with their own understandings. Some enjoy being compared to the Advent Movement, while others enjoy their autonomy.  Pastor Russell was different in may respects. That is what JWs should focus on. My point about Wiki was simple. It's unreliable since anyone can "edit" the content.
