  1. This alone was enough for me: Pope Nicholas V issued the papal bull Dum diversas on 18 June, 1452. It authorised King Alfonso V of Portugal to reduce any "Saracens (Muslims) and pagans and any other unbelievers to perpetual slavery. He issued another bull Romanus pontifex on January 5, 1455 also addressed to King Alfonso. It extended dominion over newly discovered lands to the Catholic nations of Europe. It sanctified the seizure of non-Christian lands, and encouraged the enslavement of native, non-Christian peoples throughout the World: "We, weighing all and singular the premises with due meditation, and noting that since we had formerly by other letters of ours granted among other things free and ample faculty to the aforesaid King Alfonso -- to invade, search out, capture, vanquish, and subdue all Saracens and pagans whatsoever, and other enemies of Christ wheresoever placed, and the kingdoms, dukedoms, principalities, dominions, possessions, and all movable and immovable goods whatsoever held and possessed by them and to reduce their persons to perpetual slavery, and to apply and appropriate to himself and his successors the kingdoms, dukedoms, counties, principalities, dominions, possessions, and goods, and to convert them to his and their use and profit -- by having secured the said faculty, the said King Alfonso, or, by his authority, the aforesaid infante, justly and lawfully has acquired and possessed, and doth possess, these islands, lands, harbors, and seas, and they do of right belong and pertain to the said King Alfonso and his successors."
  2. Too good! Freedom in the truest sense of the word! In fact, Everybody wants a slice............... Â
  3. Jesus Christ Ph. 2:9: "For this very reason, God exalted him to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every other name" (PS. Another no brainer...This is getting a bit silly!!)
  4. Duh????? They do??? But not to worship.........(No brainer that one I would have thought.)
  5. Sometimes. Best if they specify....but no need to be offensive. Doesn't work Does Work

  7. @Jay Witness asked: Can you pray if you're: [1.]not yet a Jehovah's Witness but you want to be? [2.]Will Jehovah God listen? [3.]Is it respectful? [1]. Yes! [2.] Yes! [3.] Yes!
  8. Who Jehovah and Jesus are: "The Catholics consider Jesus as God Himself..........while Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that Jesus is the Son of the Almighty God Jehovah." http://www.differencebetween.net/miscellaneous/religion-miscellaneous/difference-between-catholic-and-jehovah’s-witness/#ixzz51Yhu2YEv
  9. Just great..... Is 11:9: "They will not cause any harm or any ruin in all my holy mountain, because the earth will certainly be filled with the knowledge of Jehovah as the waters cover the sea."
  10. Can an unbaptised publisher marry? (asked by @Jay Witness,) Yes. 1Tim.4:1-3: "teachings of demons, by means of the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, whose conscience is seared as with a branding iron. They forbid marriage"
  11. Jehovah's spirit and their determination. Ezekiel 3:9 "I have made your forehead like a diamond, harder than flint. Do not be afraid of them or be terrified by their faces, for they are a rebellious house.”"
  12. Rev 16:21 "Then great hailstones, each about the weight of a talent, fell from heaven on the people, and the people blasphemed God because of the plague of hail, for the plague was unusually great." Jehovah has used hail illustratively in connection with executional forces "hailing" down his judgement on opposers. Isaiah 28:2 (Assyrians), 28:17 (Babylonians). This has been considered to likely provide a backdrop to understanding the unusually heavy hail decribed at Rev 16:21 in a figurative way. It has been explained as referring to weighty judgement messages, notifying mankind of Jehovah's impending destruction of the system of things. Literal hailstorms as experienced during the 10 plagues, have not been ruled out either. And of course, the destruction of false religion by political powers will be a heavy experience for those of rebellious mankind at the time of this prophetic "plague of hail."
  13. Depends on Caesar's law. PS I would like to know which educated doctor was in a position to really say he could offer a "life-saving" blood transfusion?
  14. Jehovah's Witnesses do not harrass. (Although some perceive their calling as such). They will always call again as people change their minds like the weather, and circumstances change by the day. The best thing to say is "Thankyou for calling but I do not wish to discuss my beliefs with you today"
  15. As Jesus instructed them at Matt 10:14: "Wherever anyone does not receive you or listen to your words, on going out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet." Then they move on through the neighbourhood to "search out who in it is deserving". Matt 10:11.
