Certainly an ideal place to have our literature on display...........an International Book Fair........I would think (only think) that there would not be too many stands that offer free literature like that at JW.Org

It is hard to find words to express the joy and jubilation our Brothers in Bulgaria had at their Special Imitate Jehovah Convention........how marvellous it would have been for them, with many delegates from different countries throughout the world..........from this short video we can see that they "did themselves proud." We certainly see that Jehovah is with the Governing Body in the way that they bring us, his people, the spiritual food, or, I should say, feast, at the proper time. We certainly have Jehovah to bless for the knowledge, wisdom and understanding of his word that he has given us deep in this time of the end.

JW studying - 2006 vs. 2016
John Lindsay Barltrop replied to Queen Esther's topic in Jehovah’s Witnesses's Topics
We certainly do and may we be appreciative of the many man-hours that go into making these videos and illustrations in our literature that provide this unique training for us as Jehovah's people. -
JW studying - 2006 vs. 2016

The Brothers have certainly used modern electronic media advances to the full, for our advantage..........the last Regional Convention was a fine example of that. -
About Warwick, New York
John Lindsay Barltrop replied to JAMMY's topic in Jehovah’s Witnesses's Topics
I agree WOW!......what magnificent surroundings for our World Headquarters.......almost in paradise......in more ways than one. -
"Not so negative thinking, Brother Barltrup....Jehovah will not let our Sister stay there in vain, NO !" I think that you may have misunderstood me what I meant was that there would normally be a crowds of tourists there. I added the ".......I guess!!!" because I have never been there. I hope that clarifies what I said.

2016 Regional Convention Talk Outlines
John Lindsay Barltrop replied to Jack Ryan's topic in Jehovah’s Witnesses's Topics
Being selective in what we read, watch and do is the important thing. Love what Jehovah loves and hate what Jehovah hates. I think it was terrific to see those videos again that were used at our Regional Conventions.- 16 replies

Byington and American standard versions use Jehovah's name in the Hebrew Scriptures, however the King James Version used to have the Divine name in four places, but this has been discontinued for many years, it also contains several spurious passages e.g. Matthew 17:21; 18:11; 23:14; Mark 7:16; 9:44, 46; 11:26; 15:28; Luke 17:36; 23:17; John 5:4; Acts 8:37; 15:34; 24:7; 28:29; and Romans 16:24. (The American Standard Version also includes these verses) Whilst I do not know of many (personally none - apart from JW's as a comparison text) who use the Byington translation of the Bible..........most people that I have managed to get to produce their Bible have either King James, Douay or New Jerusalem Bibles with a smattering of Bibles in modern English and they do not contain the Divine name. Of course we always use the New World Translation and we also encourage any studies that we may have to use it as well. Not forgetting of course that on electronic devices we can show an interested person not only how the NWT renders a particular verse , but, how selected other translations render the same verse........also handy for personal Bible study.

"The God of Jehovah's Witnesses" hahaha............pity they do not realize it is the same God that is mentioned in the Douay, or any other version of the Bible...........just because the chose to remove Jehovah's name from the versions that "imitation Christians" use......how true are the words of Jesus recorded at Matthew 15:9 (these religious leaders have not changed since that 1st Century.) It also brings to mind the words of the apostle Paul at 2 Corinthians 4:4 and Colossians 2:8

Increase your faith in Jehovah assembly
John Lindsay Barltrop replied to Carmen Erwin's topic in Jehovah’s Witnesses's Topics
This also reminded me of our last talk in the Regional Convention with respects to 2 Timothy 3:1-5............if we look at the word "critical" in a medical sense: 1. Stable - Vital signs are stable and within normal limits. Patient is conscious, but may be uncomfortable. Indicators are favorable. 2. Serious - Vital signs may be unstable and not within normal limits. Patient is acutely ill. Indicators are questionable. 3. Critical - Vital signs are unstable and not within normal limits. Patient may be unconscious. Indicators are unfavorable and patient could well die...........doesn't this depict the condition of the world today.............we certainly need God's Kingdom. -

The illustration of the house fire is very good, particularly as it is here, related to the importance of our field ministry. -
Certainly a nice experience.........it reminded me of the time (1984) when my late wife and I went to the UK on holiday. We went to the British Museum one Saturday morning and a couple of brothers conducted a tour through the Assyrian Section of the museum. There were several other brothers and sisters in the tour as well, all armed with Bibles at the ready..........we had only been on the tour a couple of minutes and three nuns joined the group and stayed until the completion of the tour. Whenever we looked at particular artifacts from Assyrian history we would read the account in the Bible..........It was impressive for the brothers and sisters to see these artifacts that were related to in God's word, but, the nuns were completely blown away and boy, were they impressed.

Unfortunately I was there in February.........bit chilly........NO! FREEZING would be better explanation. It was clear on the first day that I was there..........from then on it was foggy all the time, but, what I did see on that first day was certainly magnificent, especially the views of the Alps.
