To be clear:
The new rules now allow elders (para. 15) to go to the authorities once an allegation of CSA has been made without fear of retaliation by headquarters. AND two witnesses aren't needed to do this (even though two witnesses are still needed for judicial action🙄). In addition to this, emphasis is given that the reporting party will not bring reproach on jehovahs name. Para. 14- "But what if the report is about someone who is a part of the congregation and the matter then becomes known in the community? Should the Christian who reported it feel that he has brought reproach on God’s name? No. The abuser is the one who brings reproach on God’s name."

There is absolutely nothing in the chapter that indicates that Timothy was talking about raising children and caring for a household.

It is super rich for the Society to talk about women "gossiping and meddling in others' affairs" when they not only encourage their own members to do it but basically mandate it from their elders and ministerial servants.

I believe there's a complaint ongoing in New York which might name the GB as managing agents of WTBTS. If it succeeds, its effects will be... interesting.

Basically the parent believes that paradise and happiness can still be attained without their children

What's more, they know that coercing offspring back with exclusionary bullying doesn't magically make the latter true believers, so yeah, it's all about their own status within the congregation and their belief in their OWN everlasting (without memories of their children) life.

They may sincerely think that they are being loyal to Jehovah, but at the end of the day they are choosing everlasting life for themselves over being a part of their children's lives.
The organisation teaches that shunning is a loving method of having their children return to God but even at my most convinced and indoctrinated I saw straight through that.
Everything considered, these parents are making a selfish choice.
