the writer suggests the following in TWTP pg 228 on how to recruit decorators to redecorate the homes that would now be available.)

“You will have secured the services of the best decorators you can find. Some of them used to be undertakers; but since there are no more people dying, they have to seek some new occupation. Their experience as undertakers prepared them to become decorators with very little difficulty.”

Dec. 2018 WT's Shocking advice re: domestic violence

It is very interesting that Watchtower always paints an abusive or violent mate as being an unbeliever. They always make it about the wife converting the unbeliever into a JW, and that will somehow fix the problem. There is no reality in these articles. They never talk about the abusive mate who is a JW, perhaps and elder or MS. It is totally fabricated scenarios that perpetuate the fairytale of happy JW marriages.
They forgot to mention the abusive "brothers" that have beaten their wives to death. One of the two witnesses at the Russian Supreme Court hearing last year was a woman who had enough of the abuse and left her JW husband. She was not going to hang around until he killed her. The fact that she was dfd for divorcing the asshole and remarrying served as proof that the JW religion is extremist. From a women's rights perspective, it is indeed extremist and deadly.

That quote came at the end of paragraph 4 of this weeks Watchtower study and the subject of having a pleasant smile and kind demeanour was mentioned at least 3 or 4 more times during the watchtower, particularly about when engaging in cart witnessing.
Remember, we’re a happy people, because they tell us we are.

Jack Ryan got a reaction from Srecko Sostar in Serena Williams: Everyone should be grateful to Colin Kaepernick, Eric Reid
Posted by Michael David Smith on September 1, 2018, 7:31 AM EDT AP Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid were cheered by the crowd at the U.S. Open on Friday night, and afterwards they were applauded by the winner of the nightÂ’s match, Serena Williams.
Williams, who defeated her older sister Venus Williams, said after the match that she admires the stance Kaepernick and Reid have taken on racial justice.
“I think every athlete, every human, and definitely every African American should be completely grateful and honored how Colin and Eric are doing so much more for the greater good, so to say,” Williams said. “They really use their platform in ways that is really unfathomable. I feel like they obviously have great respect from a lot of their peers, especially other athletes, people that really are looking for social change.”
Kaepernick was the first NFL player to kneel during the national anthem, and Reid was the first teammate to join him. Neither player has been able to find another NFL team since leaving the 49ers, and both are bringing a collusion case against the NFL.
Williams has faced her own criticism over the national anthem, from a different direction: She does stand for the anthem despite her JehovahÂ’s Witness faith. SheÂ’s been criticized by other JehovahÂ’s Witnesses, who say she is violating their religionÂ’s teachings by standing for the anthem. JehovahÂ’s Witnesses believe that standing for patriotic rituals is a form of idolatry, and they have sued for the right not to stand for the anthem.

Whelp, it “only” took two years, but they finally had closing on the Halifax, PA KH that they stole from the folks that paid for it Because of expansion in the area, it was built in 1985, had a mortgage of about 80k, and then a renovation / pavement mortgage of about 50k. Also the land was purchased outright by a widow, and donated, which was about $26,400. Shuttered the place in 2016. Closed on it last week.
    Started with approx 100 pubs.
    Closed with approx 70 pubs.

The governing body has finally realized that FEAR is the only way to keep the JW's in the organization. I mean seriously standing in a field with soldiers heading your way, guns out... wth? This is like the Bunker video, but worse because now there is a song attached to it... this is way too much. I forget what the song was called, but they had everyone sing it at the end. People were crying. I felt so bad knowing how emotional some people got. Makes me so mad.

Jack Ryan got a reaction from Srecko Sostar in JW.org Shun Glasses - Don't Leave Home Without Them!
    Have Witnesses Gone Shun Crazy?
So, we start with shunning df'd people. Then, they shun those that drift away or become inactive. Then, they shun those that they think are secretly apostate. Going further, some people may be "marked", so they get shunned, too.
Oh but wait! Does it stop there? (nope). When they had the old Theocratic Ministry School, scheduling sisters for talks was ridiculous because you never knew who shunned who. And I recall the idiot elder who said he always approached newcomers to the Hall with caution because they could be Df'd (how's that for welcoming strangers?)
And arranging groups for field service? Good luck with that. You don't know who's shunning who.
I knew a sister who shunned her dad for some personal offense. Too bad he died of a sudden stroke. Tough luck, sis.
Then there was the young sister who shunned the older sister who planned her wedding. Didn't come off like she hoped. No gratitude, I guess.
What next? The Netherlands situation is hilarious. The government keeps pushing JW's to meet up with ex-witnesses and this offends their eager shunning. And Russia? Yeah, too bad about that persecution, huh? Too bad all your shunning undercuts your claim that Witnesses aren't "extreme" - especially in shunning family
This amazing Shun-Fest is encouraged by WORLDLY THINKING ! How do I know? Because the internet encourages bunching together in groups That Always Agree With Each Other. Others stay away !
Example: Got a relative that said something positive about Trump? OMG ! Shun him ! Or shun liberals! Or Antifa ! Or Anti-Antifa ! Get off my Facebook page ! Or Instagram ! Or Twitter!

Jack Ryan got a reaction from Shiwiii in Resurrection complications
First off, Witnesses basically believe in an immortal soul, though they would be offended at that statement. They get around the issue by calling it "Jehovah's memory". An instance of this is in the Watchtower (w07 11/1 p. 26 par. 16) where it says:
So, for example, let's say that some pioneer elder who has fifteen kids (that he's successfully raised in the 'Truth') dies tragically while doing business territory and helping an old lady cross the street. He's pretty much guaranteed a spot on the ole list, so he gets 'remembered' by Jehovah and his wife and kids.
Time passes, Great Tribulation comes and goes, Armageddon happens with lots of screaming and pain and clergymen getting crushed by collapsing steeples. New System arrives. (Geez! Took long enough!) Now it's resurrection time.
So Jehovah consults his list and sees our elder's name (we'll call him GA for 'Good Associate' and decides it's time to bring GA back.
So what happens? Does Jehovah scrounge around for all of GA's molecules and put them together again? Nope, that part of him is gone (and potentially being used in other humans - Ewwww!!!). The Watchtower explains (w00 7/15 p. 16 par. 2):
So Jehovah doesn't need to search for anything - that's great news! He can just sink a shovel in the dirt and get all he needs to build a hunky bod for GA. He gets to work and makes our buddy a body.
So now God is standing there with a lifeless assembled corpse in front of him. What's next? Oh, right. We need crank this thing up and get it started. This is where it gets interesting, and complicated... and confusing... The Reasoning book (rs p. 333) says:
So GA gets infused with his own personal identity. What is that? I don't know. No, seriously, I don't know. It's not his body, that's already been discussed. Is it his memories? No, because that's just GA's memories, that's not GA, you can download them into anyone or everyone. Is it his personality? That's not GA either, that's just wiring. What the heck is GA?!?
To put this into perspective, let's put ourselves in GA's wife's shoes. Here is her resurrected hubby, young and hot, and just like she remembered (she's hot too btw). But how does she know it's him?  How does she know it's not just some conglomeration of molecules that was downloaded with GA's memories and wired to act like GA? She doesn't! And GA's no help either, because all he can remember is the good things about being GA. So neither of them know if GA is the real deal. They're both useless!
And to really complicate things the Insight book (it-2 p. 786) says:
Wait! What?!? Now, to be fair, this sentence is in a paragraph about those with the creepy heavenly calling. But it specifically says that the soul is different than the body - it's the person, apart from the body. In fact, it sounds a lot different than just being in Jehovah's memory. If I take GA's soul and put it back into some body (any body) - that's GA? Apparently, but don't ask me to explain, cuz' I don't get it. To me, it sounds like something survived when GA's body didn't, and when that got implanted in a new body it became new GA.
This brings us back to Witnesses believe in an immortal soul. They really really want to believe that their dead loved ones will live again. But they also believe that there isn't anything that actually is the person, just memories in Jehovah's head. In that case, they can never be sure that their resurrected loved ones are who they used to be. This would terrify them if they ever took the time to think about it. But thankfully we can rest assured that Witnesses won't think about this and therefore we won't ever have to talk about GA ever again.
