  5. Let your brotherly love continue.—Heb. 13:1. https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/dt/r1/lp-e/2017/5/31 We need to develop our brotherly love now, for it will help us during whatever tests and trials we may face in the future. Even now, before the outbreak of the great tribulation, we have a strong need for brotherly love. Many of our brothers have been adversely affected by earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, tsunamis, or other natural disasters. Some brothers are suffering because of opposition and persecution. (Matt. 24:6-9) Added to all of this are the economic woes we experience daily as a result of living in this corrupt system of things. (Rev. 6:5, 6) As such problems increase, so do our opportunities to demonstrate the depth of our brotherly affection. Even though “the love of the greater number [of people] will grow cold,” we need to prove that our brotherly love continues.—Matt. 24:12. w16.01 1:8, 9

  8. The Bible Diary ..... Imagine your Bible would write diary ... Do you write it like this? I've been standing on the shelf for days! One is bored! Today I was dusted! That 's it! Today nobody was interested in me again WOW ... such a joy, today I was taken out of the shelf, and a few verses in me were read! Today, unfortunately, it was very quiet around me again! Oh, it's 3 weeks on vacation ! I'm so excited to see if I'll be taken! Yes, I am laid in the suitcase It is quite dark here, but I am with it! Unfortunately it was dark for three weeks, and now I am back on the shelf and hope to be taken out! .......................................... Or does she write so ...? As always, I lay on the dining table, always ready to handle! And indeed, during the day's reading, I was opened as usual, and a few verses, from Revelation 21: 3-5, were read in me and talked about it! Long .... This morning as usual! Then prepare for tonight, with me in full use and then the best: In the evening in the hall to the meeting, all the time I lie on the warm lap and it is eagerly read in me ----- That's nice! Daily text, today from 4.Mose! Very content! And: Today, a verse in me has been struck again, in a psalm, a cross-reference, the text is so beautiful and also important. Sayings this morning, chapter 12! The whole chapter was read! This is also useful! Then: preaching service is announced, yes and I am as always with it! Two markers have been attached, one for the WT offer, one blue ribbon and one for the EW offer, a red ribbon ! So, I am prepared ! This will be a JOY ! .......................................................................... What would your Bible write in its diary ?
  9. 3 A P P L E S....... A teacher teaching Maths to seven-year-old Laiq asked him, “If I give you one apple and one apple and one apple, how many apples will you have?” Within a few seconds Laiq replied confidently, “Four !” The dismayed teacher was expecting an effortless correct answer, three. She was disappointed. “Maybe the child did not listen properly.” – she thought. She repeated, “Laiq, listen carefully. If I give you one apple and one apple and one apple, how many apples will you have?” Laiq had seen the disappointment on his teacher’s face. He calculated again on his fingers. But within him he was also searching for the answer that will make the teacher happy. His search for the answer was not for the correct one, but the one that will make his teacher happy. This time hesitatingly he replied, “Four.” The disappointment stayed on the teacher’s face. She remembered that Laiq liked strawberries. She thought maybe he doesn’t like apples and that is making him loose focus. This time with an exaggerated excitement and twinkling in her eyes she asked, “If I give you one strawberry and one strawberry and one strawberry, then how many you will have?” Seeing the teacher happy, young Laiq calculated on his fingers again. There was no pressure on him, but a little on the teacher. She wanted her new approach to succeed. With a hesitating smile young Laiq replied, “Three?” The teacher now had a victorious smile. Her approach had succeeded. She wanted to congratulate herself. But one last thing remained. Once again she asked him, “Now if I give you one apple and one apple and one more apple how many will you have?” Promptly Laiq answered, “Four !” The teacher was aghast. “How Laiq, how?” she demanded in a little stern and irritated voice. In a voice that was low and hesitating young Laiq replied, “Because I already have one apple in my bag.” When someone gives you an answer, that is different from what you expect, don’t think, they are wrong. There shall be an angle that you may not have thought about yet.

  15. Two young deaf sisters.... ( and a Bible student ) There were two young sisters in a meeting. Both were good announcers. One of them was in pioneer service and happy to be able to start at last. The other bought a car. How proud she was about her car, so it polluted and used it and enjoyed it with it away. The pioneer, on the other hand, had more time for the service and found in her area a nice woman with whom she began a Bible study. Very enthusiastically, she told her about the value she was studying. Soon she came to the first meeting. The pioneer was completely out of the way. Meanwhile, the other sister had her joy with her car. The pioneer was able to help her studies and the big day came when her "student" was baptized. Her joy knew no boundaries and how grateful she was to Jehovah for all the joys that her ministry brought with her. Then came Armageddon and what happened ? Both survived, but the sister's garage crashed and her car was completely destroyed. How much love had she re-checked how much time ! now everything was for nothing. On the other hand, the pioneer, who had preached spiritual values, will feel the joy of helping one person or more to survive Arrmageddon and be in paradise for all eternity. Their joy will never cease, but will multiply, for they will always be reminded of their worthwhile work. Thus, through what we do today, we can accumulate treasures that NEVER will pass away and bring the eternal dividend ;-)) What a BIG diference ! ( translated by googe )
  17. Let them praise the name of Jehovah.—Ps. 148:13. https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/dt/r1/lp-e/2017/5/30 Countless Bible verses show the importance of God’s name and its sanctification. (Ex. 3:15; Ps. 83:18; Isa. 42:8; 43:10; John 17:6, 26; Acts 15:14) Jehovah God—the Author of the Bible—inspired its writers to use his name freely. (Ezek. 38:23) Omitting the name, found thousands of times in ancient manuscripts, shows disrespect for the Author. The evidence for retaining God’s name in the Bible has not diminished but grown. The 2013 revision of the New World Translation includes the name 7,216 times, which is 6 more than the 1984 edition. Five of the additional instances are found at 1 Samuel 2:25; 6:3; 10:26; 23:14, 16. These were restored primarily because the Dead Sea Scrolls, which predate the Hebrew Masoretic text by over 1,000 years, contain the name in these verses. Also, one occurrence at Judges 19:18 was restored as a result of further study of ancient manuscripts. w15 12/15 2:5, 6
