Internet users around the world, but mostly in the US, reported that some top websites were not loading on Friday morning.

The affected sites include Amazon, Twitter, Netflix, Etsy, Github, and Spotify.

    The issue is currently ongoing.

It was mostly resolved at 9:20 a.m. ET, but at 12:07 p.m. ET, the issue started to crop up again, according to one of the companies at the center of the apparent cyber attack.

At 4:16 p.m. ET, Dyn said that it was facing a third wave of attacks, CNBC reported.

The issue appears to have something to do with DNS hosts — in particular, Dyn, one of the biggest DNS companies.

Domain Name Servers are a core part of the internet's backbone. They translate what you type into your browser —www.businessinsider.com, for example — into IP addresses that computers can understand.

Dyn said on Friday that it suffering a DDoS attack, or a distributed denial of service. That basically means hackers are overwhelming Dyn's servers with useless data and repeated load requests, preventing useful data — the Twitter IP address, for example — from getting through.

"The purpose of this attack is to overload the service in any way possible and make it stop working or be unreachable. In this case it was not Twitter or Github that got overloaded, those services work totally fine, but a service allowing you to reach them got overloaded," Adam Surak, site reliability engineer at Algolia.com told Business Insider.
    Who is responsible?

No group has taken credit for the DDoS attack yet, and Dyn says no attacker has contacted it.

The Department of Homeland Security is monitoring the attack, Politico's Eric Geller reports. The FBI is also investigating, according to Reuters.

The attack does not seem to be state-sponored or directed, a senior US intelligence official told NBC News.

Dyn says that the attacks are "well planned and executed, coming from tens of millions of IP addresses at the same time." One of the sources of the attack is internet-connected products like printers, DVRs, and appliances, often called the "internet of things."

Code to wage DDoS attacks by hacking the internet of things was released earlier this month.

WikiLeaks says the attack is being done in support of its founder Julian Assange. Brian Krebs, a writer who was the first person to be hit with a internet of things DDoS, believes that criminals are extorting internet infrastructure companies and threatening them with DDoS.

He says that a trusted source tells him that there was "chatter in the cybercrime underground" discussing a plan to attack Dyn.

"Mr. Assange is still alive and WikiLeaks is still publishing. We ask supporters to stop taking down the US internet. You proved your point," Wikileaks tweeted.

    Timeline of the attacks:

Here's how the day has unfolded, according to Dyn, the company being attacked.

    7:10 a.m. ET:

"Starting at 11:10 UTC on October 21th-Friday 2016 we began monitoring and mitigating a DDoS attack against our Dyn Managed DNS infrastructure. Some customers may experience increased DNS query latency and delayed zone propagation during this time. Updates will be posted as information becomes available."

    8:45 a.m. ET:

"This attack is mainly impacting US East and is impacting Managed DNS customer in this region. Our Engineers are continuing to work on mitigating this issue."

    9:36 a.m. ET:

"Services have been restored to normal as of 13:20 UTC."

As of 12:06 p.m. ET, the attack had returned:

"As of 15:52 UTC, we have begun monitoring and mitigating a DDoS attack against our Dyn Managed DNS infrastructure. Our Engineers are continuing to work on mitigating this issue."

    12:48 p.m. ET:

"This DDoS attack may also be impacting Dyn Managed DNS advanced services with possible delays in monitoring. Our Engineers are continuing to work on mitigating this issue."

    1:53 p.m. ET:

"Our engineers continue to investigate and mitigate several attacks aimed against the Dyn Managed DNS infrastructure."

    2:23 p.m. ET:

"Dyn Managed DNS advanced service monitoring is currently experiencing issues. Customers may notice incorrect probe alerts on their advanced DNS services. Our engineers continue to monitor and investigate the issue."

    2:52 p.m. ET:

"At this time, the advanced service monitoring issue has been resolved. Our engineers are still investigating and mitigating the attacks on our infrastructure."

    3:44 p.m. ET:

"Our engineers are continuing to investigate and mitigate several attacks aimed against the Dyn Managed DNS infrastructure."

    4:37 p.m. ET:

"Our engineers continue to investigate and mitigate several attacks aimed against the Dyn Managed DNS infrastructure."

    4:59 p.m. ET:

"Our engineers are continuing to investigate and mitigate several attacks aimed against the Dyn Managed DNS infrastructure."

CNBC reported that Amazon investigated the issue as well, although it eventually found the issue to be with the Dyn attack. "Amazon & DynDNS investigating internet outage reports on east coast of U.S. amid reports of major websites not working properly," it tweeted.

Earlier this month, the United States transferred its oversight of DNS to an international non-profit group, a move that had been more than 20 years in the making.

  4. "MI RESUMEN PERSONAL"  DEL ESTUDIO DEL LIBRO DE CONGREGACION
    SEMANA DEL 17. OCTUBRE  2016....

    STUDY BOOK WORLD CONGREGATION
    EPISODE 2
    Paragraphs 29 and 30

29, 30. a) What effect did on Earth the birth of the Messianic Kingdom? b) What effect did in heaven?
29 Long before 1914, the Bible Students had claimed that this year would mark the beginning of a time of trouble. But even they how accurate that prediction would be imagined. As indicated by the vision of the apostle John, Satan begin since then to have an even greater influence on mankind: "Woe to the land and sea !, because the Devil has come down to you, having great anger, knowing he has a short space of time "(Rev. 12:12). World War I broke out in 1914, and the sign of Christ's presence as King began to be fulfilled worldwide. It was the beginning of "the last days" of this system of things (2 Tim. 3: 1).
30 On the other hand, in the sky there was great joy: Satan and his demons were cast out of there forever! John's account says: "Because of this, rejoice, you heavens and you who reside in them!" (Rev. 12:12). Now that the skies had been cleaned and Jesus Christ crowned King, the Messianic Kingdom was ready to act for the people of God on Earth. What would you do first? As we saw at the beginning of the chapter, Christ, in his role of "messenger of the covenant" he would begin refining, or purifying, the servants of God. What would this mean?
    DRAWING NOTE ----------------
In 1914, the Bible Students began to recognize the sign of the invisible presence of Christ
    TEXTS--------------------------
    2 Timothy 3: 1
3 But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here.

    ESTUDIO MUNDIAL LIBRO CONGREGACIÓN
    CAPITULO 2
    PARRAFOS 29 Y 30

Thats  cool...  but  interesting !   Yes,  we  can  make  alot  with  cars  and  in  many  drawers  are  so  good  things  for  our  worldwide  cars.  Example, 1 litre  motors,  but  NO  Company  will  build  such  of  cars  and  we  know  why...  so  sorry !   ( btw. I  like  Cadillac's )

PS. By the 1 litre motors I mean, the consumption is only 1 litre on 100 km ( German ) thats very very less !

Kiwi fruit is exceptionally high in vitamin C, in fact it contains even more vitamin C than an orange. It also contains high amounts of vitamins E, A, & K as well as flavonoids, antioxidants, and minerals such as magnesium, potassium, and iron. Kiwi is particularly beneficial for the respiratory system and has been shown to help shorten the duration of colds as well as to help prevent asthma, wheezing, and coughing. Kiwi fruit contains anti-inflammatory properties which is good for those who suffer with autoimmune disorders such as Lupus, Fibromyalgia, CFS, and Lyme disease. Kiwi seeds are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids which are essential for cognitive function and can help prevent the development of ADHD and autism in children.

Kiwi contains enzymes similar to those in papaya and pineapple which makes them useful in aiding in digestion and elimination. Kiwi fruit has also been shown to help protect DNA from mutating which is an incredible form of protection against illnesses and diseases such as atherosclerosis, heart disease, osteoarthritis, asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, and cancer. Kiwi fruit is also known to help remove excess sodium buildup in the body which can help reduce bloating, swelling, and water retention. Kiwi is good for promoting eye health and for preventing age-related macular degeneration. It is also highly beneficial for those who have weak or sensitive immune systems and are useful at keeping ear, nose, and throat infections at bay. Kiwi is also great for diabetics by helping to keep their blood sugar levels under control and for cardiovascular health as it has been shown to help lower triglycerides or blood fat in the body.

Kiwi contains certain compounds that act as a blood thinner, similar to the way aspirin works which helps prevent blood clot formation inside the blood vessels and can protect the body from stroke and heart attacks. Green kiwi is the most commonly available variety found in supermarkets, however a delicious variety called Gold Kiwi (which has a golden color flesh) is a much sweeter, creamier, and less acidic variety that should not be missed. Kiwi fruit should be left on the counter to ripen until they yield under gentle pressure, like a ripe mango or avocado. Eat at least 3-4 ripe kiwi fruit a day for ultimate health benefits.

    ENJOY ;-)

    http://wol.jw.org/es/wol/dt/r4/lp-s/2016/10/21

For this I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth.—John 18:37.

When on trial for his life, Jesus Christ said those words to the Roman governor of Judea. Jesus had just identified himself as a king. Years later, the apostle Paul referred to this courageous example of Jesus, “who as a witness made the fine public declaration before Pontius Pilate.” (1 Tim. 6:13) Indeed, it sometimes requires great courage to be a “faithful and true witness” in Satan’s hate-filled world! (Rev. 3:14) As a member of the Jewish nation, Jesus was a witness of Jehovah by birth. (Isa. 43:10) Indeed, he turned out to be the greatest witness God has ever raised up in behalf of His name. Jesus zealously witnessed about God’s Kingdom. The Gospel writer Mark reported: “Jesus went into Galilee, preaching the good news of God and saying: ‘The appointed time has been fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God has drawn near. Repent, and have faith in the good news.’”—Mark 1:14, 15. w14 7/15 4:1, 2

South Korea court frees Jehovah’s Witnesses who refused to serve in military...

Two South Korean men who refused to do military service have had their convictions overturned in a landmark ruling against the government.

Cho Rak Hoon and Kim Hyung Geun were freed by an appeals court in the southern city of Gwangju today. They had been sentenced to 18 months in prison for refusing military service at their trials, in June 2015 and May 2016 respectively, according to Amnesty International.

All South Korean men are required by law to do two years of active military service. Most go into uniform aged 18; anyone else has to complete their service.

    http://wol.jw.org/es/wol/dt/r4/lp-s/2016/10/20

Assist those who are weak.—Acts 20:35.

    http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/dt/r1/lp-e/2016/10/20

You may know from personal experience that it can take time to recover from a debilitating physical illness. Similarly, a Christian who has been weakened by personal difficulties or very trying circumstances may need time to regain spiritual strength. True, our fellow believer will need to strengthen his own faith through personal study, prayer, and other Christian activities. But will we show patience until he regains his balance? And during that recovery, will we show enduring love? Will we strive to help those who are temporarily weak to feel valued and to sense our Christian affection? (2 Cor. 8:8) Never forget that as we provide support to our brothers, we experience the joy that only giving can bring. We also cultivate our capacity for showing empathy and patience. But there is more. The congregation as a whole grows in warmth and love. Above all, we imitate Jehovah, who considers every individual to be precious. w14 6/15 3:18, 19
