They were forerunners of those who now share in the fulfillment of Jesus’ prophetic words: “This good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” (Matt. 24:14) The small group of Bible Students has grown to some 8,000,000 Witnesses of Jehovah today. More than 11,000,000 other individuals show interest in the Bible and our work by attending the annual Memorial of Jesus’ death. In most lands, the majority of those present are women. Also, women make up the greater number of over 1,000,000 full-time Kingdom proclaimers worldwide. God has indeed granted faithful women the privilege of participating in the fulfillment of the psalmist’s words, as recorded in today’s text. w14 8/15 1:18, 19

Da Jehova der Quell der Liebe ist, kann wahre Liebe als „die Flamme Jahs“ bezeichnet werden. Er erschuf den Menschen in seinem Bilde, also mit der Fähigkeit zu lieben (1. Mo. 1:26, 27). Als Gott den ersten Mann, Adam, und die erste Frau, Eva, zusammenführte, kamen Adam geradezu poetische Worte über die Lippen. Und auch Eva fühlte sich ihrem Mann bestimmt sehr nahe, denn sie war schließlich ein Teil von ihm (1. Mo. 2:21-23). Da Jehova den Menschen die Fähigkeit gegeben hat, Liebe zu zeigen, ist es einem Mann und einer Frau möglich, einander unerschütterlich und für immer zu lieben. Die Liebe zwischen Mann und Frau zeichnet sich aber nicht nur dadurch aus, dass sie beständig und dauerhaft sein kann. Dies wird im Hohen Lied schön beschrieben. Es handelt von einer jungen Frau aus dem ländlichen Sunem oder Sulem und ihrem geliebten Hirten. w15 15. 1. 5:3, 4

Η αγάπη ανάμεσα σε άτομα του αντίθετου φύλου έχει και άλλα γνωρίσματα εκτός από το ότι μπορεί να είναι σταθερή και ανθεκτική. Μερικά από αυτά περιγράφονται με θαυμάσιο τρόπο στο Άσμα Ασμάτων, μια ιστορία αγάπης ανάμεσα σε κάποια κοπέλα από το χωριό Σουνάμ, ή αλλιώς Σουλάμ, και στον αγαπημένο της ποιμένα. w15 15/1 5:3, 4

[Love’s] flames are a blazing fire, the flame of Jah.—Song of Sol. 8:6. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/dt/r1/lp-e/2016/8/3 The expression “the flame of Jah” that is used to describe love speaks volumes. True love is “the flame of Jah” in that Jehovah is the Originator of such love. He created man in his image with the ability to love. (Gen. 1:26, 27) When God presented the first woman, Eve, to the first man, Adam, the words that came out of Adam’s mouth were nothing short of poetic. No doubt Eve felt a closeness to Adam, from whom “she was taken.” (Gen. 2:21-23) Since Jehovah has given humans the capacity for showing love, it is possible for a man and a woman to have unswerving and unfailing love for each other. The love between the opposite sexes has other characteristics besides its potential for being constant and enduring. Some of these are wonderfully portrayed in the Song of Solomon, a story about the love between a young woman from the village of Shunem, or Shulem, and her beloved shepherd. w15 1/15 5:3, 4

Es fesselt und begeistert uns sofort. Schließlich rangiert der Eigenname Gottes bei uns ganz oben: Wir sind Jehovas Zeugen! Nirgendwo auf der Welt gibt es heute eine Gruppe, die so eng mit dem göttlichen Namen verbunden ist wie wir. Gottes Namen zu tragen ist ein Vorrecht und geht, wie wir wissen, mit Verantwortung einher. Der Gebrauch des göttlichen Namens an sich bringt nicht Jehovas Wohlgefallen. Wir müssen uns auch nach Gottes Maßstäben richten. Daher wird Jehovas Volk in der Bibel ermahnt, sich vom Bösen fernzuhalten. Der Apostel Paulus sagte deutlich: „Jeder, der den Namen Jehovas nennt, lasse ab von Ungerechtigkeit“ (2. Tim. 2:19). Als Gottes Zeugen sind wir bekannt dafür, seinen Namen zu nennen. w14 15. 7. 2:1, 2

No entanto, sabemos que esse privilégio vem acompanhado de responsabilidade. O simples fato de usar o nome divino não traz a aprovação de Jeová. Também devemos viver de acordo com seus padrões de moral. Por isso, a Bíblia nos lembra de que o povo de Jeová deve se ‘desviar do que é mau’. O apóstolo Paulo deixou isso claro ao escrever: “Todo aquele que menciona o nome de Jeová renuncie à injustiça.” (2 Tim. 2:19) Como suas Testemunhas, somos de fato conhecidos por levar o nome de Jeová. w14 15/7 2:1, 2

Άλλωστε, το προσωπικό όνομα του Θεού κατέχει ξεχωριστή θέση στη λατρεία μας—είμαστε Μάρτυρες του Ιεχωβά! Σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο, καμιά άλλη ομάδα ανθρώπων σήμερα δεν συνδέεται τόσο στενά με το θεϊκό όνομα όσο εμείς. Ωστόσο, γνωρίζουμε ότι το προνόμιο που έχουμε να φέρουμε πάνω μας το όνομα του Θεού συνεπάγεται και ευθύνη. Η χρήση του θεϊκού ονόματος από μόνη της δεν μας φέρνει την εύνοια του Ιεχωβά. Πρέπει και να ζούμε σε αρμονία με τους ηθικούς κανόνες του. Γι’ αυτόν το λόγο, η Αγία Γραφή μάς υπενθυμίζει ότι ο λαός του Ιεχωβά πρέπει να “απομακρυνθεί από το κακό”. Ο απόστολος Παύλος ανέφερε ξεκάθαρα αυτή την αρχή όταν έγραψε: «Όποιος ονομάζει το όνομα του Ιεχωβά ας αποκηρύξει την αδικία». Surely your reaction was one of keen interest and excitement. After all, God’s personal name occupies a special place in our worship—we are Jehovah’s Witnesses! On a global scale, no other group of people today is as closely associated with the divine name as we are. Yet, we know that the privilege of bearing God’s name comes with responsibility. Using the divine name does not in itself bring us Jehovah’s favor. We must live in harmony with his moral standards. For that reason the Bible reminds us that Jehovah’s people must “turn away from what is bad.” The apostle Paul clearly stated this principle when he wrote: “Let everyone calling on the name of Jehovah renounce unrighteousness.” (2 Tim. 2:19) As his Witnesses, we are indeed renowned for calling on Jehovah’s name. w14 7/15 2:1, 2

Bleibe bei diesen Dingen (1. Tim. 4:16) http://wol.jw.org/de/wol/dt/r10/lp-x/2016/8/1 Nicht jeder, dem wir predigen, nimmt die Königreichsbotschaft an (Mat. 10:11-14). Das ist auch dann so, wenn wir immer die richtigen Fragen stellen, die besten Argumente vorbringen und die eingängigsten Veranschaulichungen benutzen. Selbst auf Jesu Lehren reagierten nur verhältnismäßig wenige, und das, obwohl er der größte Lehrer war, den es je auf der Erde gab (Joh. 6:66; 7:45-48). Dennoch können wir etwas im Predigtdienst erreichen — auch wenn wir meinen, nicht besonders begabt zu sein (Apg. 4:13). Gemäß der Bibel gibt es gute Gründe, zu glauben, dass „alle, die zum ewigen Leben richtig eingestellt“ sind, die gute Botschaft annehmen (Apg. 13:48). Mögen wir uns alle eine ausgeglichene Ansicht aneignen — über uns selbst und über die, denen wir die gute Botschaft vom Königreich überbringen. Ziehen wir vollen Nutzen aus der Schulung, für die Jehova sorgt. Sie wird uns zugutekommen und auch denen, die auf uns hören. Mit der Hilfe Jehovas können wir jedem richtig antworten (Kol. 4:6). w14 15. 5. 1:15, 16

(Ματθ. 10:11-14) Αυτό αληθεύει ακόμη και αν χρησιμοποιούσαμε τις καλύτερες ερωτήσεις, τα πειστικότερα επιχειρήματα και τα αποτελεσματικότερα παραδείγματα. Εξάλλου, σχετικά λίγοι ανταποκρίθηκαν στη διδασκαλία του Ιησού—αν και ήταν ο μεγαλύτερος Δάσκαλος που περπάτησε ποτέ στη γη! (Ιωάν. 6:66· 7:45-48) Αλλά ακόμη και αν πιστεύουμε πως δεν είμαστε ιδιαίτερα ταλαντούχοι, μπορούμε να είμαστε αποτελεσματικοί στη διακονία μας. (Πράξ. 4:13) Ο Λόγος του Θεού μάς διαβεβαιώνει ότι “όλοι όσοι έχουν τη σωστή διάθεση για αιώνια ζωή” θα δεχτούν τα καλά νέα. (Πράξ. 13:48) Γι’ αυτό, ας καλλιεργούμε και ας διατηρούμε ισορροπημένη άποψη για τον εαυτό μας και για εκείνους στους οποίους μεταδίδουμε τα καλά νέα της Βασιλείας. Ας αξιοποιούμε πλήρως την εκπαίδευση που παρέχει ο Ιεχωβά, βέβαιοι ότι θα ωφελήσει τόσο εμάς όσο και εκείνους που μας ακούν. Ο Ιεχωβά μπορεί να μας βοηθήσει να διακρίνουμε πώς πρέπει να “απαντάμε στον καθένα”.—Κολ. 4:6. w14 15/5 1:15, 16

Persevere in these things.—1 Tim. 4:16. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/dt/r1/lp-e/2016/8/1 Not everyone we preach to will accept the Kingdom message. (Matt. 10:11-14) That would be true even if we were to ask just the right questions, use the best reasoning, and come up with the finest illustrations. After all, relatively few responded to Jesus’ teaching—and he was the greatest Teacher ever to walk the earth! (John 6:66; 7:45-48) On the other hand, even if we feel that we are not especially gifted, we can be effective in our ministry. (Acts 4:13) God’s Word gives us sound reason for believing that “all those . . . rightly disposed for everlasting life” will accept the good news. (Acts 13:48) So let us develop and maintain a balanced view of ourselves and those with whom we seek to share the good news of the Kingdom. May we take full advantage of the training Jehovah provides, confident that it will benefit both us and those who listen to us. Jehovah can help us to see how we should “answer each person.”—Col. 4:6. w14 5/15 1:15, 16
