  1. Keep this mental attitude in you that was also in Christ Jesus.—Phil. 2:5. What sort of disposition did Jesus have? He was humble. Humility moved him to be self-sacrificing in his ministry. Preaching to others about the good news of God’s Kingdom was foremost in his mind. (Mark 1:38; 13:10) Jesus viewed God’s Word as the final authority. (John 7:16; 8:28) He diligently studied the Holy Scriptures so that he could quote them, defend them, and explain them. By being humble and zealous in our ministry and personal Bible study, we will be more Christlike in our thinking. Even in his exalted position, Jesus will humbly submit to his Father’s will, and so should we. (1 Cor. 15:28; Phil. 2:9-11) How so? By giving our wholehearted support to the work that we have been instructed to do, that is, to “make disciples of people of all the nations.” (Matt. 28:19) Also, we want to “work what is good toward all,” doing good to our neighbor and to our brothers.—Gal. 6:10. w14 10/15 4:17, 18

  8. Where are your gods that you made for yourself? Let them rise up if they can save you in your time of calamity.—Jer. 2:28. Israel did not prove faithful to Jehovah. They allowed themselves to be influenced by nations that worshipped gods of wood and stone. Instead of producing fine fruitage by practicing pure worship and acting as Jehovah’s faithful witnesses, Israel produced the rotten fruitage of idolatry. (Hos. 10:1, 2) Thus, Jesus told the hypocritical Jewish leaders of his day: “The Kingdom of God will be taken from you and be given to a nation producing its fruits.” (Matt. 21:43) Only those in the “new covenant,” foretold by Jehovah through his prophet Jeremiah, could be part of that new nation, spiritual Israel. Of the spiritual Israelites who would be brought into that new covenant, Jehovah had prophesied: “I will become their God, and they will become my people.” (Jer. 31:31-33) Jehovah made spiritual Israel his people in the first century. w14 11/15 4:17-19
  9. “Jehovah, Jehovah, I’m dying, I’m dying,” Omar Silva said ;-( Jury finds *Fresno gang member* guilty of murdering a Jehovah’s Witness Brother.... ECCLESIASTES, 9 : 11,12 11 I have seen something further under the sun, that the swift do not always win the race, nor do the mighty win the battle, nor do the wise always have the food, nor do the intelligent always have the riches, nor do those with knowledge always have success, because time and unexpected events overtake them all. 12 For man does not know his time. Just as fish are caught in an evil net and birds are caught in a trap, so the sons of men are ensnared in a time of disaster, when it suddenly overtakes them. FOR MORE DETAILS - I GOT THIS LINK : http://www.fresnobee.com/news/local/article22479795.html A Fresno gang member was found guilty Wednesday of first-degree murder — despite a defense attorney’s claim that the shooting victim could have lived, but his religious beliefs stopped him from getting a blood transfusion. David Quevedo, 26, faces life in prison without parole when he is sentence on June 24 in Fresno County Superior Court. Quevedo was accused of fatally shooting Omar Silva, a 36-year-old Jehovah’s Witness, who died during surgery in February 2013 after he refused a blood transfusion. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe it is against God’s will to have a blood transfusion. During the trial, defense attorney Antonio Alvarez told the jury that the blood transfusion could have saved Silva’s life. Prosecutor Gabriel Brickey, however, said that pathologist Dr. Michael Chambliss’ expert opinion was that even if Silva had received the transfusion, he would have died because one bullet hit his inferior vena cava, a major vein. In asking for a first-degree murder conviction, Brickey told the jury Quevedo deliberately shot Silva in front of Silva’s 13-year-old daughter after getting into a fight with Silva’s brother. After the shooting, the girl picked Quevedo out of a police photo lineup, Brickey said. The jury deliberated about six hours before reaching a verdict. Jurors left without talking to the attorneys. In addition to murder, jurors found Quevedo guilty of killing Silva to promote a criminal street gang and being a felon in possession of a handgun. The shooting on Feb. 3, 2013 attracted instant notoriety when authorities said Quevedo, a San Francisco 49ers fan, went on a rampage after his team lost to the Baltimore Ravens in the Super Bowl. Brickey told the jury that Quevedo claims allegiance to the Bond Street Bulldogs and has the letter B tattooed on his right cheek. Both sides agreed that Quevedo shot Silva. But Alvarez argued his medical expert, Dr. David Posey, believed Silva had a 90% chance to survive if he had the blood transfusion. But on cross examination, Posey told Brickey that a substantial factor in Silva’s death was the gunshot wounds. Court records say Quevedo has been to prison twice — in 2007 for felony battery of a custodial officer and in 2011 for taking someone’s property. He was on supervised release when he was arrested after the Silva shooting. Brickey told the jury that Silva was an innocent victim of gang violence. Both sides agree that on Feb. 3, 2013, Quevedo became angry when the 49ers lost in the Super Bowl. Quevedo began to cause trouble at the game party near Silva’s home and was kicked out. While on the street, he ran into Arnold Silva outside his brother’s home on East Hedges Avenue, south of Fresno City College. Quevedo confronted Arnold Silva and asked him what gang he claimed. When Arnold Silva replied he was from Fresno, a fight broke out. The two men fought until Omar Silva broke up the altercation, Brickey said. Before leaving, Quevedo, who was wearing a red 49ers jersey, shouted “Bond Street” and said “I’ll be back,” Brickey said. Brickey told the jury a neighbor’s video surveillance camera captured the deadly encounter when Quevedo returned to Omar Silva’s home. About 9:30 p.m., Omar Silva was with his wife and children when Quevedo knocked on the front door and asked to see Arnold Silva. One of the children, who was 13, answered the door and said her uncle was not home. Omar Silva, who had just gotten out of the shower, approached the front door, wearing only a towel around his waist. Quevedo fired eight rounds toward Silva, Brickey said. Three shots hit Silva in the chest and one hit him in the back, the prosecutor said. A body camera worn by an officer who responded to the shooting captured Silva’s words before he was rushed to the hospital. “Jehovah, Jehovah, I’m dying, I’m dying,” Omar Silva said. After the officer assured Silva he would be fine because the bullet holes were small, Silva died during surgery.... ;-( Quevedo was arrested later that week by officers from the police department’s Street Violence Bureau. After the verdict, Alvarez said the blood transfusion argument was one part of his defense. He also argued that someone else killed Silva because the neighbor’s video captured Quevedo and an unknown person going to the front door of the victim’s home. There also was another person in the getaway car, Alvarez said. “I’m disappointed,” Alvarez said, “because choices Quevedo made in the past came back to haunt him. I’m also sad that the streets have claimed another person.”
» w14 15/9 5:13, 14.
Możemy sobie wyobrazić troskę, jaką „umiłowany lekarz” Łukasz, pisarz Księgi Dziejów Apostolskich, okazywał Pawłowi i innym towarzyszom podróży (Kol. 4:14; Dzieje 20:5 do 21:18).
  14. She is a great campaigner, a fantastic tennis sportswoman... similar her sister Venus ! I'm thinking to our great Steffi Graf / Boris Becker - time... SO many top players we had and always tennis in TV ;o) now very rare, sorry !
  15. They embraced Paul and affectionately kissed him.—Acts 20:37. Circuit overseers and their wives are often viewed as spiritually strong, resilient people. This is true of them, yet they too need encouragement, companionship in the ministry, and inclusion in a balanced amount of recreation. What if they get sick and are hospitalized, perhaps needing surgery or physical therapy? How refreshing they find it when local brothers and sisters assist with their needs and take a personal interest in them. We can imagine the concern that “the beloved physician” Luke, writer of the book of Acts, must have shown toward Paul and other traveling companions. (Col. 4:14; Acts 20:5–21:18) Traveling overseers and their wives need and cherish close friends. One circuit overseer wrote: “My friends seem to know when I need encouragement. They ask discerning questions, and this helps me to talk about what concerns me. Just by being good listeners, they are a great help.” w14 9/15 5:13, 14
  18. Pray Until Something Happens ! EXPERIENCE WITH JEHOVAH ❤ A man was sleeping at night in his cabin when suddenly in his dreams his room filled with light and Jehovah appeared. Then Jehovah told the man he had work for him to do, and showed him a large rock in front of his cabin. Then Jehovah explained that the man was to push against the rock with all his might. This the man did, day after day. For many years he toiled from sun up to sun down, his shoulders set squarely against the cold, massive surface of the unmoving rock, pushing with all his might. Each night the man returned to his cabin sore, and worn out, feeling that his whole day had been spent in vain. Seeing that the man was showing signs of discouragement, the Adversary Satan decided to enter the picture by placing thoughts into the man's weary mind: "You have been pushing against this rock for a long time, and it hasn't budged. Why kill yourself over this? You are never goi ng to move it." Thus giving the man the impression that the task was impossible and that he was a failure. These thoughts discouraged and disheartened the man. "Why kill myself over this?" he thought. "I'll just put in my time, giving just the minimum effort and that will be good enough." And that is what he planned to do until one day he decided to make it a matter of prayer and take his troubled thoughts to Jehovah. "Jehovah," he said, "I have labored long and hard in your service, putting all my strength to do that which you have asked. Yet, after all this time, I have not even budged that rock by half a millimeter. What is wrong? Why am I failing?" Then Jehovah responded compassionately, "My friend, when I asked you to serve, and you accepted, I told you that your task was to push against the rock with all your strength, which you have done. Never once did I mention to you that I expected you to move it. Your task was to push. And now you come to me, with your strength spent, thinking that you have failed. But, is that really so? Look at yourself. Your arms are strong and muscular, your back sinewy and brown, your hands are callused from constant pressure, and your legs have become massive and hard. Through opposition you have grown much and your abilities now surpass that which you used to have. Yes, you haven't moved the rock. But your calling was to be obedient and to push and to exercise your faith and trust in My wisdom. This you have done. I, my friend, will now move the rock." At times, when we hear a word from God, we tend to use our own intellect to decipher what He wants, when actually what God wants is just simple obedience and faith in Him....By all means, exercise the faith that moves mountains, but know that it is still God who moves the mountains.
