If you are an anointed Christian, the heavenly hope is an important subject of your personal prayers. When the Bible speaks of being ‘promised in marriage’ to the heavenly Bridegroom, Jesus Christ, you apply that to yourself, and you look forward to being part of Christ’s “bride.” (2 Cor. 11:2; John 3:27-29; Rev. 21:2, 9-14) When God in his Word expresses his love for his spiritual children, you respond, “That means me.” And when Jehovah’s Word gives instructions to his anointed sons, holy spirit moves you to obey and to say in your heart, “That applies to me.” God’s spirit and your spirit thus join in bearing witness that you have the heavenly hope. On the other hand, if you are part of the “great crowd” of “other sheep,” God has given you the earthly hope. (Rev. 7:9; John 10:16) You want to live forever in Paradise, and you find joy in meditating on what the Bible says about future life on earth. w15 1/15 2:16-18

In Städten wie Berlin sei es wegen der vielen Lichtquellen sehr schwierig, Polarlichter zu erkennen.

Je weiter im Norden man wohne, desto häufiger könne man Polarlichter sehen, erklärte Jost Jahn von der Vereinigung der Sternfreunde. In Süddeutschland sei das eher die Ausnahme. Generell treten Polarlichter ihm zufolge relativ häufig auf. "Alle zwei bis drei Monate sind sie mit dem Auge erkennbar." Wer nicht auf der Lauer liege, bekomme von dem Schauspiel in Deutschland aber nichts mit. "Ein unbedarfter Beobachter wird es vielleicht nie sehen."

Polarlichter entstehen, wenn elektrisch geladene Teilchen des Sonnenwindes auf die oberen Schichten der Erdatmosphäre treffen. Dort regen sie Sauerstoff- und Stickstoffmoleküle zum Leuchten an. Solche Lichtspiele treten vor allem in den Polarregionen auf. Ihre Häufigkeit in Mitteleuropa hängt von der Sonnenaktivität ab. Früher wurden Polarlichter auch als Vorboten drohenden Unheils gedeutet. In Großbritannien waren die Lichter ebenfalls in der Nacht zu beobachten. Das Berliner Planetarium veröffentlichte bei Facebook etwa ein entsprechendes Foto bunter Lichter über der Insel Anglesey vor der Nordwestküste von Wales.

Na ilustração de Jesus, o grão representa a mensagem do Reino, bem como o resultado da pregação dessa mensagem: a congregação cristã. Assim como o grão de mostarda — “a menor de todas as sementes” —, a congregação cristã tinha bem poucos membros quando foi formada em 33 EC. Mas, em poucas décadas, ela cresceu rapidamente. (Col. 1:23) Esse crescimento foi benéfico porque, na ilustração, Jesus disse que “as aves do céu” conseguiram encontrar ‘pousada entre os ramos’ da árvore. Essas aves simbólicas retratam pessoas sinceras que encontram alimento, sombra e proteção em sentido espiritual na congregação. (Note Ezequiel 17:23.) Jesus usou o extraordinário crescimento de um grão de mostarda para ilustrar a capacidade do Reino de Deus de se expandir, dar proteção e vencer todos os obstáculos. Dans l’exemple de Jésus, le grain de moutarde représente le message du Royaume et ce que produit la prédication de ce message : la congrégation chrétienne. Comme le grain de moutarde, qui est « la plus petite de toutes les semences », la congrégation chrétienne née en 33 de n. è. a eu des débuts modestes. Mais en quelques décennies, elle s’est énormément développée (Col. 1:23). Cette croissance a été bénéfique puisque Jésus nous dit que « les oiseaux du ciel » pouvaient « loger dans [l]es branches » de l’arbre issu du grain de moutarde. Ces oiseaux représentent les personnes au cœur droit qui trouvent en quelque sorte nourriture, ombre et abri au sein de la congrégation chrétienne (cf. Ézékiel 17:23). Jésus s’est servi de la croissance impressionnante du grain de moutarde pour illustrer la capacité du Royaume de Dieu de faire prospérer ses activités, d’apporter une protection et de vaincre tout obstacle. En effet, depuis 1914, la croissance de la partie visible de l’organisation de Jéhovah est phénoménale ! (Is. 60:22). w14 15/12 1:7, 8.

Das Senfkorn in Jesu Gleichnis steht für die Königreichsbotschaft und für das, was durch das Predigen entsteht: die Christenversammlung. Ähnlich wie das Senfkorn, das zu den „winzigsten von allen Samenarten“ gehört, fing die Christenversammlung im Jahr 33 ganz klein an. Doch in nur wenigen Jahrzehnten wuchs sie sehr schnell und breitete sich aus (Kol. 1:23). Wie Jesus sagte, kommt dieses Wachstum den „Vögeln des Himmels“ zugute, da sie sich in den „Zweigen niederlassen“ können. Die Vögel stellen aufrichtige Menschen dar, die in der Christenversammlung Nahrung, Schatten und Schutz finden. (Vergleiche Hesekiel 17:23.) Durch das erstaunliche Wachstum des Senfkorns veranschaulichte Jesus, dass Gottes Königreich die Macht hat, sich auszudehnen, zu schützen und jeden Widerstand zu überwinden. Seit 1914 ist das Wachstum des sichtbaren Teils der Organisation Gottes geradezu überwältigend! (Jes. 60:22). w14 15. 12. 1:7, 8

In Jesus’ illustration, the grain represents the Kingdom message as well as what results from the preaching of that message—the Christian congregation. Like the mustard grain that is “the tiniest of all the seeds,” the Christian congregation had small beginnings in 33 C.E. However, within a few decades, the congregation grew rapidly. (Col. 1:23) This growth was beneficial because Jesus tells us that “the birds of heaven” were able to “find lodging among its branches.” These figurative birds picture righthearted individuals who find spiritual food, shade, and shelter within the Christian congregation. (Compare Ezekiel 17:23.) Jesus used the amazing growth of a mustard grain to illustrate the power of God’s Kingdom arrangement to expand, protect, and conquer all obstacles. Os apóstolos sabiam que a ressurreição de Jesus era diferente das outras que já tinham ocorrido. Nessas ressurreições, as pessoas voltaram com corpos físicos e com o tempo morreram de novo. Já no caso de Jesus, ele foi ressuscitado com um corpo espiritual que era incorruptível. (Atos 13:34) Pedro disse que Jesus “está à direita de Deus, pois foi para o céu; e foram-lhe sujeitos anjos, e autoridades, e poderes”. (1 Ped. 3:18-22) As ressurreições anteriores haviam sido impressionantes e milagrosas, mas nenhuma delas se comparava a esse milagre extraordinário. Christus wurde im Fleische zu Tode gebracht, aber im Geiste lebendig gemacht (1. Pet. 3:18)

Die Apostel wussten: Jesu Auferstehung war anders als die früheren. Die Auferweckten kamen nämlich mit einem Körper aus Fleisch und Blut zurück und starben letztendlich wieder. Jesus wurde jedoch mit einem unvergänglichen geistigen Leib auferweckt (Apg. 13:34). Wie Petrus schrieb, ist Jesus „zur Rechten Gottes, denn er ging hin in den Himmel; und Engel und Gewalten und Mächte wurden ihm unterworfen“ (1. Pet. 3:18-22). Die früheren Auferstehungen waren erstaunliche Wunder, aber keine einzige von ihnen lässt sich mit Jesu Auferstehung vergleichen — dem größten Wunder überhaupt! Jesus war jetzt eine mächtige Geistperson, der kein Mensch etwas antun konnte. Das wirkte sich tief greifend auf seine Jünger aus. Seine Auferstehung bewies nämlich: Er ist wirklich Gottes Sohn. Das verwandelte ihre tiefe Trauer in große Freude und ihre Angst in Mut. w14 15. 11. 1:5, 6

The apostles knew that Jesus’ resurrection was different from the resurrections that preceded it. People who were brought back to life earlier came back with physical bodies and eventually died again. Jesus was resurrected with a spirit body that was imperishable. (Acts 13:34) Peter wrote that Jesus “is at God’s right hand, for he went to heaven, and angels and authorities and powers were made subject to him.” (1 Pet. 3:18-22) The previous resurrections were both marvelous and miraculous, but none compared to this supreme miracle. Jesus’ resurrection had a profound impact on his disciples. He was no longer dead but was alive as a mighty spirit person whom no human could harm. His resurrection proved that he was the Son of God, and knowing that fact, the disciples found their spirits lifted from that of profound sorrow to great joy. How "Rainbow Bagels" are made...

It takes five hours of consistent hands-on time to make a batch of 100 of the intricately designed multi-colored bagels. In that same amount of time, the shop can make 1,000 traditional bagels (which are really delicious by the way—I especially loved the satisfying chew and flavor of the onion version). But bagels are Rossillo's canvas and like any other artist, time is not a factor when it comes to creating a masterpiece. Up until all hours of the night, he's constantly coming up with new seasonal versions like these vanilla-flavored Candy Corn Bagels for Halloween. The shop will ship bagels anywhere in the U.S. and Rossillo will create custom designed colored bagels for anyone, like these Blue Healing Bagels that are a special request by Kathy Wakile from "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" and just happened to be at the shop.

Eines Tages....

kam eine Schwester, die ein Problem hatte und nicht wusste, was sie machen sollte, zu Bruder S. einem Mitglied der „Leitenden Körperschaft“. Er sagte ihr, sie sollte das Bibelbuch Johannes lesen. Der Bezirksaufseher sagte: „Wenn ein Mitglied der leitenden Körperschaft dir sagt, du sollst das Bibelbuch Johannes lesen, was machst du dann?“ Sie ging nach Hause und las alle 21 Kapitel auf einmal.

Sie kam ein zweites Mal auf ihn zu und meinte, sie hätte das Problem immer noch. Er antwortete: „Lies es noch mal.“ Sie tat das und kam ein drittes Mal und Bruder S sagte ihr, sie solle „es noch einmal lesen“. Nachdem sie es ein drittes Mal gelesen hatte, kam sie zu ihm und bedankte sich und sagte, dass sie wüsste, dass Jehova mit ihr sei und alles gut ausgehen würde.

Ein anderer Bruder fragte Bruder S, warum er ihr gesagt hätte, sie solle das Bibelbuch Johannes lesen. Er antwortete: „Ich wusste nicht, was ich ihr anderes hätte sagen können. Aber ich wusste, dass Jehovas heiliger Geist ihr helfen würde, wenn sie Gottes Wort mit ihrem Problem im Sinn lesen würde.“
