Pequei contra Jeová. — 2 Sam. 12:13. Davi aceitou a correção de Jeová por meio do profeta Natã. Davi também orou a Jeová de coração, confessando seus pecados e dizendo que queria voltar a ter a aprovação de Jeová. (Sal. 51:1-17) Davi não permitiu que sentimentos de culpa o impedissem de seguir em frente; ele aprendeu dos seus erros. Ele nunca mais fez aquelas coisas erradas. Anos depois, Davi morreu fiel, e é assim que Jeová se lembra dele até hoje. (Heb. 11:32-34) O que o exemplo de Davi nos ensina? Ensina que, se cometemos um erro grave, precisamos nos arrepender de coração, confessar o pecado para Jeová e pedir o seu perdão. (1 João 1:9) Também precisamos buscar a ajuda dos anciãos; eles vão nos ajudar a nos recuperar em sentido espiritual. (Tia. 5:14-16) Quando aceitamos a ajuda de Jeová, mostramos que confiamos que ele vai nos perdoar e nos ajudar a levantar. Feliz aquele cuja transgressão é perdoada. — Sal. 32:1. Às vezes uma pessoa fica ansiosa por causa das coisas que ela fez no passado. De vez em quando Davi achava que nunca se esqueceria dos seus erros. Ele admitiu: “Meu coração angustiado me faz gemer profundamente.” (Sal. 38:3, 4, 8, 18) O que você acha que Davi deveria ter feito nessa situação? Sabe o que ele fez? Ele confiou na misericórdia e no perdão de Jeová. (Sal. 32:2, 3, 5) Outras vezes, podemos ficar ansiosos por causa do que estamos passando no momento. Por exemplo, quando Davi escreveu o Salmo 55, ele estava com medo de ser morto por seus inimigos. (Sal. 55:2-5) Mas ele não deixou a ansiedade destruir a confiança que ele tinha em Jeová. Davi orou de coração falando sobre o que estava passando. Mas ele também sabia que não podia ficar de braços cruzados diante do problema que causava aquela ansiedade. (2 Sam. 15:30-34) Você pode aprender com Davi. Não deixe que a ansiedade tome conta de você. Os que vivem de acordo com a carne fixam a mente nas coisas da carne; mas os que vivem de acordo com o espírito, nas coisas do espírito. — Rom. 8:5. Alguns acham que esse texto mostra a diferença entre os que servem a Jeová e os que não servem. Só que Romanos 1:7 mostra que Paulo estava escrevendo aos que tinham sido “chamados para ser santos”, ou seja, os cristãos ungidos. Assim, Paulo estava falando da diferença entre os cristãos que viviam de acordo com a carne e os cristãos que viviam de acordo com o espírito. Em Romanos 7:5, Paulo disse que os que vivem “de acordo com a carne” vivem de acordo com seus “desejos pecaminosos”. Isso nos ajuda a entender quem são as pessoas que “vivem de acordo com a carne” e que “fixam a mente nas coisas da carne”. Paulo estava falando de pessoas que só pensam em satisfazer seus desejos, que se deixam levar pelas suas imperfeições. I have sinned against Jehovah.—2 Sam. 12:13. David accepted correction from JehovahÂ’s representative, the prophet Nathan. David also prayed to Jehovah, confessing his sins and expressing a sincere desire to be restored to JehovahÂ’s favor. (Ps. 51:1-17) Instead of being paralyzed by guilt, David learned from his mistakes. Indeed, he never repeated those serious sins. Years later, he died faithful, his record of integrity firmly sealed in JehovahÂ’s memory. (Heb. 11:32-34) What can we learn from DavidÂ’s example? If we fall into serious sin, we need to repent sincerely and seek JehovahÂ’s forgiveness. We must confess our sins to him. (1 John 1:9) We also need to approach the elders, who can offer us spiritual help. (Jas. 5:14-16) By availing ourselves of JehovahÂ’s arrangements, we show that we trust in his promise to heal and forgive us. Happy is the one whose transgression is pardoned.—Ps. 32:1. Some anxiety may be caused by a personÂ’s past actions or failings. At times, King David felt that his ‘errors loomed over his head.Â’ He admitted: “My anguished heart makes me groan aloud.” (Ps. 38:3, 4, 8, 18) In that situation, what was the wise thing for David to do? What did he do? He trusted in JehovahÂ’s mercy and forgiveness. (Ps. 32:2, 3, 5) At other times, you may become anxious about the present. For instance, when David wrote Psalm 55, he feared for his life. (Ps. 55:2-5) Nevertheless, he did not allow anxiety to destroy his confidence in Jehovah. David made his problems a subject of fervent prayer, but he also understood the value of taking practical steps to deal with the cause of the anxiety. (2 Sam. 15:30-34) Learn a lesson from David. Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the spirit, on the things of the spirit.—Rom. 8:5. Some might imagine that this is a contrast between those who are not in the truth and those who are, between those who are not Christians and those who are. However, Paul was writing to “those who are in Rome as GodÂ’s beloved ones, called to be holy ones.” (Rom. 1:7) Thus, Paul was contrasting Christians who walked according to the flesh with Christians who walked according to the spirit. He linked “living according to the flesh” with “the sinful passions” that were then “at work in [their] bodies.” (Rom. 7:5) So when speaking of those who “set their minds on the things of the flesh,” Paul was referring to people who are ruled by or focused on their desires and leanings as imperfect humans. I think, it was not a wrong question @John Lindsay Barltrop.... bec. JTR. IS a JW !!  ------- Yes, a knife or an axt also weapon's and dangerous. But a gun is MORE bad, bec. you can kill many person's in some seconds, like Florida etc. - and that from a bigger distance !!  That gives a gun alot more power....  Bad and crazy people always using gun's and very rare a knife. Crazy people we've in many Countries, around the world, so we never can be safe. But using a gun is NEVER an alternative, but in TRUMP's sense, seems so.... We're JW's and carry or using a gun or similar, is a sin - Jehovah hates it !!  Thanks my Brothers Â
