Zum Tag des Gedenkens an die Opfer des Nationalsozialismus am 27. Januar lädt die Stadt Marl unter dem Titel „Wege der Erinnerung“ um 17 Uhr zu einer Gedenkfeier ins Rathaus ein. Halina Birenbaum, Holocaust-Überlebende ist Ehrengast und spricht über ihre Erlebnisse vor und nach 1945. Alle Bürgerinnen und Bürger sind herzlich eingeladen.

Halina Birenbaum wuchs im Warschauer Ghetto auf und wurde nach dem Ghetto-Aufstand von den Nationalsozialisten in die Konzentrationslager Majdanek, Auschwitz-Birkenau und Ravensbrück deportiert.  Heute besucht die Holocaust-Überlebende Schulen und Jugendzentren u.a. in Deutschland und Israel, um als Zeitzeugin aus ihrem Leben zu berichten.
Befreiung von Auschwitz
Auschwitz ist das Synonym für den Massenmord der Nazis an Juden, Sinti und Roma und anderen Verfolgten. Auschwitz ist Ausdruck des Rassenwahns und das Kainsmal der deutschen Geschichte.
Der 27. Januar, der Tag der Befreiung von Auschwitz, ist daher kein Feiertag im üblichen Sinn. Er ist  ein "DenkTag":  Gedenken und Nachdenken über die Vergangenheit schaffen Orientierung für die Zukunft. Die beste Versicherung gegen Völkerhass, Totalitarismus, Faschismus und Nationalsozialismus ist und bleibt die Erinnerung an und die aktive Auseinandersetzung mit der Geschichte.
Während der NS-Zeit ermordeten die Nazis in Auschwitz über anderthalb Millionen Männer, Frauen und Kinder.
Am 27. Januar 1945 befreite die Rote Armee die Gefangenen des Konzentrationslagers.
Am 27. Januar 1945 wurde das Konzentrationslager Auschwitz durch die 322. Infanteriedivision der 60. Armee der I. Ukrainischen Front unter dem Oberbefehl von Generaloberst Pawel Alexejewitsch Kurotschkin befreit.
Die Rote Armee fand in dem evakuierten Komplex noch 7.600 Überlebende und 650 Leichen vor. In den Magazinen fanden die Befreier 843.000 Herrenanzüge, 837.000 Damenmäntel und -kleider, 44.000 Paar Schuhe, 14.000 Teppiche und 7,7 Tonnen menschliches Haar ;-((
Text am Denkmal im Vernichtungslager Birkenau, das 1967 auf Initiative des Internationalen Auschwitz Komitees errichtet wurde.
Dieser Ort sei allezeit ein Aufschrei der Verzweiflung und Mahnung an die Menschheit. Hier ermordeten die Nazis über anderthalb Millionen Männer, Frauen und Kinder. Die meisten waren Juden aus verschiedenen Ländern Europas.
Der Jahrestag der Befreiung wurde 1996 offizieller deutscher Gedenktag für die Opfer des Nationalsozialismus. Die Vereinten Nationen erklärten den 27. Januar im Jahr 2005 zum Internationalen Tag des Gedenkens an die Opfer des Holocausts.
Michael Sturm: "Nie wieder! – aber wie?"
In einem Vortrag „Nie wieder! – aber wie?“ beschäftigt sich Michael Sturm vom Münsteraner Geschichtsort Villa ten Hompel anschließend mit den Möglichkeiten, Zielen und Grenzen des Lernens an Gedenkstätten und darüber hinaus. Was bewirkt diese Form der historisch-politischen Bildung? Wie können Gedenkstättenbesuche und Zeitzeugeninterviews zu einem gleichberechtigten demokratischen Miteinander in der Gegenwart beitragen?
Michael Sturm ist Pädagogisch-wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter der Villa ten Hompel.

Das jüdische Neujahrsfest der Bäume (??? ???? ???????) im Februar ist ein kleiner jüdischer Feiertag. In Marl wurde deshalb ein Baum der Freundschaft im Skulpturenpark von Halina Birenbaum, Holocaust-Überlebende, gesetzt. Sie wurde von Vertreterinnen und Vertreter der Marler Städtepartnerschaftsvereine begleitet. Jetzt ist Birenbaum mit ihrer Enkelin Yael aus Herzliya wieder in Marl, um von ihren Erlebnissen im Holocaust zu berichten. Sie leistet hier eine bemerkenswerte Aufklärungs- und Erinnerungsarbeit besonders an den Marler Schulen. Halina Birenbaum trug bei der Baumpflanzung ihr Gedicht „Bäume schweigen“ in deutsch vor. Halina Birenbaum, Holocaust-Überlebende Halina Birenbaum wurde als Tochter von Jakub Grynsztejn und Pola Grynsztejn (geb. Kijewska, verwitwete Perl) geboren und wuchs mit zwei älteren Brüdern auf. Nach dem deutschen Überfall auf Polen musste ihre Familie in das Warschauer Ghetto übersiedeln. Nach dessen Vernichtung wurde sie im Juli 1943 – mit einem Halt im Konzentrationslager Majdanek – in das KZ Auschwitz-Birkenau verschleppt. Nach dessen Auflösung wurde sie im Januar 1945 in das KZ Ravensbrück verbracht und im Februar in das KZ Neustadt-Glewe. Dort wurde sie am 2. Mai 1945 durch die Rote Armee befreit. Ihre Mutter wurde in Majdanek ermordet, ihr Vater im Vernichtungslager Treblinka. Halina Birenbaum die Schriftstellerin Das Leben und der Tod in der Besatzungszeit, das Märtyrertum der polnischen Juden in den Ghettos und in den Konzentrationslagern bilden die Hauptthemen der Prosa und der Dichtung von Halina Birenbaum. Ihre teils in Polnisch, teils in Hebräisch geschriebenen Bücher wurden ins Deutsche, Englische, Französische, Italienische, Japanische und Spanische übersetzt. Sie vermittelt ihre Erfahrung des Holocaust in zahlreichen Lesungen und bei Begegnungen mit Jugendlichen in Israel und Europa.

On January 21, 2018, Bible Scholar Nehemia Gordon and his team of researchers discovered the 1,000th Hebrew Bible manuscript containing the original name of God in Hebrew with vowels.
For two hundred years, scholars have believed based on Greek sources and conjecture that the Hebrew name of God was originally pronounced “Yahweh.” In late 2016, Gordon found never-translated traditional Jewish sources that explicitly identified the vowels of God’s name in Hebrew as “Yehovah.” This is similar to the English Jehovah, but with a “Y” and the emphasis on the final syllable.
God’s name, known as the Tetragrammaton, is written in most Hebrew Bible manuscripts with one of its vowels missing, making it unreadable in accordance with an ancient Jewish ban on speaking the name. Despite this, Gordon had previously discovered five Bible manuscripts with a full set of Hebrew vowels proving the pronunciation of the Tetragrammaton was known to Jewish scribes as “Yehovah.”
The project to find new evidence corroborating this discovery, began in February 2017 and in less than one year Gordon found 1,000 more Hebrew Bible manuscripts with the full vowels “Yehovah.” These included the two earliest known Hebrew Bible manuscripts with vowels, Russian National Library, Evr. II B 100 from the year 894 AD and the Cairo Codex of the Prophets from 895 AD. Gordon and his team also found the vowels “Yehovah” in three manuscripts written with the lost “Babylonian Pointing,” discovered in the Cairo Genizah in 1896.
Gordon is the host of the “Hebrew Voices” podcast, which was downloaded 5.1 million times in 2017. He is also the author of the popular book Shattering the Conspiracy of Silence, which discusses the Jewish ban on speaking the “ineffable” name. Gordon holds a Masters Degree in Biblical Studies and a Bachelors Degree in Archaeology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He has worked as a translator on the Dead Sea Scrolls, and as a researcher deciphering ancient Hebrew manuscripts. Gordon has written two popular books on the Hebrew origins of Christianity and is active in interfaith dialogue, speaking at synagogues and churches around the world.

What an interesting ‘discovery‘ 
A Biblical scholar discovered 1,000 manuscripts proving that the original Hebrew name for God is not Yahweh, as scholars believed, but is actually Yehovah.
Nehemia Gordon and his team discovered the 1,000th manuscript containing the original Hebrew name of God, known as the Tetragrammaton, on Saturday, completing his effort to confirm it as Yehovah since discovering the first, previously untranslated Hebrew sources with that spelling in late 2016, according to Religion News Service.
Scholars believed for 200 years that the name was spelled Yahweh, based on what they could glean from Greek texts and the fact that most Jewish texts only included the consonants, in part due to the ancient belief that GodÂ’s name is too sacred to be spoken. Prior to this, all scholars knew for sure was that the consonants were YHWH.
Gordon began the project to find 1,000 Hebrew manuscripts containing the name Yehovah in February 2017, shortly after he discovered five Bible manuscripts containing the full spelling of the Tetragrammaton. The discoveries that followed included a full spelling in the Cairo Codex of the Prophets, written in 895 A.D., and full spellings in three manuscripts written with Babylonian vocalization — an ancient form of writing first invented in the 6th Century that adds vowels to Hebrew consonantal texts to ensure proper pronunciation. Gordon also discovered the full Tetragrammaton in two of the oldest Hebrew manuscripts of the Bible, which he found in the Russian National Library.
Gordon studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he earned a Masters Degree in Biblical Studies and a Bachelors Degree in Archeology. In addition to his work in discovering the Hebrew name of God, he has helped with translation of the Dead Sea Scrolls and other manuscripts written in ancient Hebrew.

One gas station attendant,  in Poland prided himself on knowing the location of all the cities and how to get there. 
One day a Witness drove his car in to get gas. It was an old junker and the attendant began teasing the brother about it. He said, " I bet that old car won't get you down this street." The brother replied. "This old car will get me all the way to ARMAGEDDON, " then drove away.
The attendant was puzzled by that remark because he had never heard of a city called ARMAGEDDON. He poured over his maps but still could not find it.
After that he asked every person that drove into the gas station if they knew where ARMAGEDDON was. Of course no one knew.
One day, sometime later, another brother came into get gas and was asked by the attendant, "Say, do you know where ARMAGEDDON  is ? 
The brother replied, " I sure do" The attendent got so excited , he ran into the station to get maps. He came out holding them and said , " Show me where this ARMAGEDDON is "
The brother said, " Well first of all, you have the wrong map, "  You need this one." He pulled out his BIBLE,  and began witnessing to the attending.
As a result, this attendant is now an Elder... A brother going door- to door met a man who said very emphatically that he was not interested.
He told the brother " tell it to the dog", so the brother did. He gave his whole sermon, read the scriptures and presented the Wacthtower & Awake  to the dog...When he was through, he looked at the man and said."The dog said yes." Er ist ein gesalbt Bruder in bethel , die vor etwa 3 Jahren Schreiben Korrespondenz von Bethel Büro in Wallkill zugewiesen wurde.

Bruder Koch begann Pionier am 1. September 1982 und begann am 12. Oktober 1984 in den Vereinigten Staaten Zweig dient.
Er hat offenbar sein ganzes Leben in Bethel gewesen. Keine Kinder. 
Der Verwaltungsrat setzt sich nun aus acht gesalbt Brüder zusammen.
