RUSSIA  - The Holy Spirit of Jehovah in action....    ENJOY !
I thought it would be heartening to share an experience I had while working on the Bethel Chelmsford site   a couple of days ago.
I worked with a Russian-speaking brother and, of course, I asked him if he had "any updated news about our brothers and sisters in Russia". He has been talking to some of his friends in Russia and told me that "many inactive" had begun to return to the truth when they saw the persecution as a sign of the nearness of the end of this system. He also mentioned that some employers who have witnesses as employees have been interested in the truth, since they can not relate the good behavior of their employees with the label of "extremism". This has made some of them curious about our beliefs and teachings. Also those interested have had their interest reached by what has been happening, so some have increased their interest. Also the fact that some of the law enforcement countries have had to go through our literature trying to find something extremist has meant people who would normally have nothing to do with the truth have come to understand our message of the good news.
It is amazing how Jehovah has used this prohibition and the unjust treatment of our brothers as a catalyst to get people interested in the truth.
He also mentioned that there was consensus that the "exemplary family award" that was given to the family of witnesses at the award ceremony was purposely made to be a symbolic gesture that "yes, Jehovah's Witnesses are good people" and as people who have no problem with us Almost nobody believes it was an accident, since nobody can get so close to Putin without the powers to know everything about you, your family, the way you live, including your religion, and everything others about his life and that of his families. The timing was well judged and "it seemed to be a way of letting the world realize that it was trying to be fair and balanced, maintaining its position on extremist activities." :confused:
The preaching work is done very covertly and they do not go out of their way to mention that they are Jehovah's Witnesses, maybe just a few words in a conversation and then they continue normally. In the smaller cities where everyone knows everyone, there is more persecution than in cities where it is easier   to mix.
Some brothers are leaving the country and find it very easy to request asylum for reasons of religious persecution even more than asylum seekers from countries torn by war.
I believe that the spirit of Jehovah is working firmly in Russia, even though there is a lot of religious persecution. Jehovah is using this situation in a very positive way, just as we thought he would. I know that this information comes only from one source and that other sources may have a different opinion on all this, but I found it extremely encouraging to hear the positive effect that this situation has had on the country of Russia.

An amazing picture !  I've never flown over a rainbow. But,  years ago my kids & I drove through one. We could see the colors on the dashboard of the car.  Never knew that could happen !

ITS  JUST  SIMPLE.....  not  believe  these  bla bla - big mouth  weather - people,  bec.  EVERY  year  is  always  different !!   Our  GERMAN  winter  and  summer  is  every  year  a  surprise,  haha     In  some  winter  we've  nearly  NO  snow,  or  just  for  one  snowball...  the  last  winter  was  little  cold  and  a  powder  puff  of  snow, thats  all  -  poor  kiddies   The  summer  started  between  April  and  July  and  some  weeks  later,  the  summer  says  good  bye  again !   We  already  had  a  hot  April  but  a  colder  May....  a  warm  June  but  a  colder  July,  a  warm  or  colder  August  and  in  September  is  soon  the  summer  finished.  First  time  in  Sept.  2016,  we  had  2 times  a  longer  heat - wave...  not  normal  so  late !  In  the  summer  months  it  was  warm  and  in  soon  autumn  came  back  the  hot  summer,  hahaha  -   YES,  thats  always  our  weather - surprise,  we  NEVER  know  that  before !
So  I  not really  believe  to  a  very  big  climate - catastrophe...  the  weather  is  changing  when  the  weather  will  -  and  that  every  year....  sometimes  more  cold  and  sometimes  more  hot.  But  generally  speaking,  our  German - weather  is  in  a  good  balance !   In  the  end  70 ~ years  we  had  1 time  a  strong  winter  with  alot  snow  over  the  night...  similar  to  USA  now !   And  in  my  childhood  also  regular  a  winter  with  snow,  I  remember  that.
THATS  THE  WEATHER - STORY  OF  NORTH  GERMANY   **Perhaps  we  still  get  some  snow**

There is still time!
I thought of the prosperity gospel churches too, and large "personality" mega-churches that highlight their evangelists and "faith healers" on television along with the audiences. However, I suspect that the person who made the original meme was aiming more at the hypocrisy inherent even in more typical church situations where the pastor is a couple of tax brackets higher than the congregation. Another form of clergy/laity distinction. It must seem exacerbated in those poorer neighborhoods with a church, two pawn shops and two liquor stores on every block. The churches in such neighborhoods often grow even with all the block-by-block competition, and the pastors therefore do well.
But I also noticed that Bible Speaks wanted to make it clear that this kind of thing does not happen in her congregation. But can it? She adds "Be on the watch" as if there might be some danger even among our own. But she also added "We are not called Pastors anyhow." This means, evidently, that the idea doesn't apply to us after all.
I take it for granted that most people here know that this is not really a problem among JWs. So is it something to watch out for? Ann shows that it has happened before. Rutherford kept a few houses for his personal use in several places around the world. He had more than one of these expensive cars, simultaneously during the great depression. His own "prosperity" gospel took advantage of the economic desires of his audience, but correctly turned them toward a more spiritual perspective. He had books and booklets and talks called Riches, Prosperity, and Prohibition is from the Devil? Oh wait, that last one didn't turn toward spirituality in the same was as the others, it just went ahead and "proved" that prohibition really was from the Devil. But money was clearly not the primary thing for either Russell or Rutherford. Both of them believed for much of their lives that the end was coming in a matter of years or often, even just a few months. Russell spent the Society's funds like crazy right up until October 1914. No reason to have anything left over. Rutherford didn't turn down the amenities, but he was clearly not driven by money, either.
It's always good to look at the possibilities even if we are really nothing like most of these churches that rake in millions for a feel-good and/or prosperity message that never seems to pan out for the average member. I mentioned the 125-foot yacht for the same reason that Ann mentioned the car. It's a bit thought-provoking about how easy it is to attach ourselves to material things without noticing the effect on onlookers. Watches, jewelry, vacations, chandeliers, cruises, yachts, and such can look like a showy display of one's means, even if that's not what one means.

Many years ago a brother from an African branch spoke here. He was amazed at the material wealth. He went on and on about how brothers here even have "washing-up machines." And: "Not only do you have cars here but you have garages in which to put the cars. In Africa, four families would live in that garage!"

All  okay,  yes !   I  understand.....    Its  around  all  countries  little  different,  seems so.  Big  cars,  houses  etc.  is  not  all  -  in  poorer  countries  the  people  often  more  happy,  also  JW !   Importend  are other  things...  LOVE,  PEACE  a  bed,  clothes,  bread  and  water   All  others  is  little  LUXURY,  but  nice
