You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome Jehovah gave.—Jas. 5:11.
If you are crushed by the discouraging words of a friend or family member, are plagued by a serious illness, or are grieved by the death of a loved one, you can find comfort in the example of Job. (Job 1:18, 19; 2:7, 9; 19:1-3) Although he was unaware of the source of his troubles, Job did not give up in despair. Why not? For one thing, “he feared God.” (Job 1:1) Job was determined to please Jehovah in favorable and unfavorable circumstances. With God’s help, Job reflected on the wondrous things Jehovah had already accomplished by means of His holy spirit. Job became even more confident that Jehovah would end his trials at the right time. (Job 42:1, 2) And that is precisely what happened. “Jehovah removed Job’s tribulation and restored his prosperity. Jehovah gave him double what he had before.” Job lived “a long and satisfying life.”—Job 42:10, 17. w16.04 2:11, 13

An amazing picture !  I've never flown over a rainbow. But,  years ago my kids & I drove through one. We could see the colors on the dashboard of the car.  Never knew that could happen !

Ustedes han oído del aguante de Job y han visto el resultado que Jehová dio (Sant. 5:11).
¿Se siente destrozado por las palabras hirientes de un amigo o un familiar, por una enfermedad o por la muerte de un ser querido? El ejemplo de Job lo ayudará (Job 1:18, 19; 2:7, 9; 19:1-3). Aunque no sabía por qué estaba sufriendo, nunca se rindió ni perdió la esperanza. ¿Por qué? Primero, porque era un hombre “temeroso de Dios” (Job 1:1). Estaba decidido a servirle en las buenas y en las malas. Segundo, porque Jehová lo ayudó a darse cuenta de todas las cosas maravillosas que había hecho mediante su espíritu. Eso ayudó a Job a confiar más en que Dios acabaría con sus pruebas en el momento indicado (Job 42:1, 2). Y así fue: Jehová eliminó las dificultades a las que se enfrentaba. Le dio todo lo que había sido suyo, “en cantidad doble”. Job murió mucho tiempo después, “viejo y satisfecho de días” (Job 42:10, 17). w16.04 2:11, 13

Luchen tenazmente por la fe (Judas 3).
La espera de la joven ha terminado: por fin su padre regresa de la batalla, sano y salvo, y ella sale corriendo a recibirlo. Está muy contenta porque han vencido al enemigo. Pero en vez de unirse a los cantos y danzas de su hija, él rasga sus vestiduras manchadas por la batalla y, con el corazón roto, exclama: “¡Ay, hija mía!”. Entonces le dice algo que cambiará la vida de la joven para siempre, que acabará con sus sueños de tener una vida como la de cualquier otra mujer. ¿Cómo responde ella? Sin dudarlo, anima a su padre a cumplir la promesa que le hizo a Jehová. ¡Cuánta fe demuestra su respuesta! Está segura de que obedecer a Dios siempre será lo mejor, sin importar lo que él le pida (Juec. 11:34-37). Su padre se siente muy orgulloso. Sabe que a Jehová le alegra que ella quiera apoyar su decisión. Jefté y su hija confían en Dios y en su manera de hacer las cosas, aunque a veces no sea fácil. Están seguros de que cualquier sacrificio vale la pena con tal de complacerlo. w16.04 1:1, 2

Put up a hard fight for the faith.—Jude 3.
The anxious wait is over. Relieved to see her father returning safely from battle, the young woman races to greet him and rejoices over his astounding victory. Instead of joining her in song and dance, he rips apart his battle-stained garments and cries out: “Oh no, my daughter! You have broken my heart.” Then he utters the words that change her life forever, shattering her dreams and hopes of a normal life. Yet, without hesitation, she encourages her father to follow through on what he promised Jehovah. Her words reveal her great faith. She trusts that whatever Jehovah asks is best for her. (Judg. 11:34-37) Her father’s heart swells with pride because he knows that his daughter’s willingness to support his decision brings Jehovah’s smile of approval. Jephthah and his daughter put their trust and confidence in Jehovah’s way of doing things, even when it was hard to do so. They were convinced that gaining God’s approval was worth any sacrifice. w16.04 1:1, 2
