Ezekiel 38:8 and Isaiah 2:2  refer to pre-Armageddon situations (final part of the days).
    Rev 20 discusses post-Armageddon situations.
You need to acknowledge that Rev 21:4, 5 shows that the former things have passed away.
At the final test some persons who survived Armageddon, their children  and some of the resurrected ones - a considerable amount - will choose to go with Satan in disobedience to  God and his Kingdom. (Adam and Eve had this test also when they were made perfect.) This is why Jehovah kept Satan and did not destroy him at Armageddon. This is what the final test is meant to do - to finally sift out those who are disloyal to God. They will be eaten up by the fire that comes down from heaven - second death.  (Rev 20:9) After that there will be peace in the Universe.  Adamic death will cease. No one will be disobeying Jehovah after that. Second death is always available to Jehovah and Jesus to deal with any threats.
Granted, there may be further understanding of who exactly in Babylon the Great will be destroyed and who  will be destroyed at Armageddon. But we should not  worry unduly about these things.  We have to get ready ourselves.  2 Peter 3:15.  Have confidence that Jehovah is a Righteous Judge and his Son is like him. Armageddon is going to be a righteous war and no one will be destroyed who is who is worthy of an opportunity for everlasting life.  They will be preserved to benefit from  the priestly services of the Thousand-Year rule of the Messiah. See Revelation 22:1-3; Isaiah 11:1-9.Isaiah 29:9,10.
Agree that when we have preconceived ideas it is harder to learn more but there are fundamental truths or core values that we stick to, or else we are wasting our time.
Read Ps 37:10,11,34, 37,38 -  wicked people to be cut off
Rev 19: 17-21  - end of military nations and those who support them - small and great
Rev 21:4,5 - end of old system - former things passed away - making all things new.
2 Peter 3:7,11-12  - end of old system - destruction as if by fire.
2 Peter 3:13 - new system wherein righteousness is to dwell.

Barber's Logic - God does not exist
    A Barber's Story:  Does God Exist ?
A man went to a barber shop to have his hair and his beard cut as always. He started to have a good conversation with the barber who attended him. They talked about so many things and various subjects. Suddenly, they touched the subject of God. The barber said: "Look man, I don't believe that God exists as you say."
"Why do you say that?" asked the client.
"Well, it's so easy, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God does not exist. Oh, tell me, if God existed, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be no suffering nor pain. I can't think of loving a God who permits all of these things."
The client stopped for a moment thinking, but he didn't want to respond as to cause an argument. The barber finished his job and the client went out of the shop. Just after he left the barber shop he saw a man in the street with a long hair and beard (it seems that it had been a long time since he had his cut and he looked so untidy).
Then the client again entered the barber shop and he said to the barber, "You know what? Barbers do not exist."
"How can you say they don't exist?" asked the barber. "Well I am here and I am a barber."
"No!" the client exclaimed. "They don't exist because if they did there would be no people with long hair and a beard like that man who walks in the street."
"Ah, barbers do exist, what happens is that people do not come to me."
"Exactly!"-  affirmed the client.  "That's the point.  God does exist,  what happens is, people don't go to Him and do not look for Him.  That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."
    Amen

A word spoken at the right time—how good it is!—Prov. 15:23.
Our words may be just what our hearer truly needs, but unless we discern the best time to speak, their meaning could be lost. For example, in March 2011 an earthquake and tsunami devastated parts of eastern Japan, wiping out entire cities. More than 15,000 lost their lives. Although JehovahÂ’s Witnesses in the area suffered along with their neighbors, they took advantage of every opportunity to use the Bible to comfort those who were mourning. However, many of the local people have deep-rooted Buddhist beliefs and little or no knowledge of Bible teachings. Our brothers discerned that immediately following the tsunami was not necessarily the best time to tell the grief-stricken victims about the resurrection hope. Instead, they used their gift of speech to focus on giving emotional support and explaining from the Bible why such terrible things happen to innocent people. w15 12/15 3:7

Ten men out of all the languages of the nations . . . [will say]:  “We want to go with you.”—Zech. 8:23.
Jehovah does not insist that we learn a specific language in order for us to get to know him or his purposes. (Rev. 7:9, 10) Has GodÂ’s communication with humans been hindered by the use of different languages and minor variations in translation? No. For example, we may be aware of only a few of the original-language words that Jesus used. (Matt. 27:46; Mark 5:41; 7:34; 14:36) However, Jehovah made sure that JesusÂ’ message was transmitted in Greek and, in time, in other languages. Later, Bible manuscripts were copied again and again by Jews and Christians, preserving the holy writings. These were translated into many more languages. John Chrysostom of the fourth/fifth century C.E. said that by his day, JesusÂ’ teachings had been translated into the languages of the Syrians, Egyptians, Indians, Persians, Ethiopians, and innumerable other peoples. w15 12/15 1:10, 11

The angel Gabriel, sent from the presence of God, announces to the young Mary her future role as the mother of the child Jesus. Luke 1:26-38, 26) And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 27) To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. 28) And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. 29) And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. 30) And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. 31) And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. 32) He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33) And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. 34) Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35) And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. 36) And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. 37) For with God nothing shall be impossible. 38) And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

    Jesus  Turns  Water  into  Wine....
Jesus performs a miraculous act of service in one of the first recorded events of His ministry. John 2: 1-12 1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: 2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. 3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. 4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman , what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. 5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. 6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. 7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. 9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, 10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. 11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him. 12 After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren , and his disciples: and they continued there not many days.

Why do I believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God ?
The Bible is actually a collection of 66 books. These books were written by 40 men with really different backgrounds ( from shepherds to doctors to kings! ) over a time span of 1500 years, in 3 different languages, on 3 different continents.
Most of these authors didn't know each other & none of them knew that their writings would become part of this collection, yet they are in harmony.
This collection of books shares a common story-line:  The creation, fall,  and redemption of God's people.
It has a common theme:  God's universal love for all of humanity.
And a common message: Salvation is available to all who repent of their sins and commit to following God with all of their heart, soul, mind and strength.
The Bible contains no historical errors or contradictions. And though it is not a science textbook,  where it touches on the natural world it is in harmony with scientific facts. Truly the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation is the inspired Word of God !   ?  ?  ?

We could definitely learn from the resiliency of this beautiful fragile creature. Though it seems there is no direction for their lives and that they are mercilessly tossed about...it is not so. They have faith that where they land is the step needed to continue their journey. And the journey that leads to the real life isnt always seen by us or even those around us. We simply must have Faith that these things are for our betterment. The journey is long my friends and the road untraveled. Have faith because this invisible force...this warm breeze guiding you through your travels is making the way for you. Much love and healing to you all! Learn and observe from all his creations. They are clues he sets before us to help guide our steps.

In any case 666 or 616 both show up imperfection emphasized as against 7 which is said to represent heavenly perfection  and 10 which is representing earthly perfection. Then we have Isaiah 40:8 and 1 Peter 2:24,25  which gives the commitment of Jehovah God to preserve his "sayings" (through John). And we can see that he has done that well, with just a few minor variations being allowed. I am typing this from memory.

    JW.ORG....
    What Does 666 Mean?
    The Bible’s answer :
According to the last book in the Bible, 666 is the number, or name, of the wild beast with seven heads and ten horns that comes out of the sea. (Revelation 13:1, 17, 18) This beast is a symbol of the worldwide political system, which rules over “every tribe and people and tongue and nation.” (Revelation 13:7) The name 666 identifies the political system as a gross failure in God’s sight. How?
More than a label. Names given by God have meaning. For example, God gave the man Abram, which means “Father Is High (Exalted),” the name Abraham, which means “Father of a Crowd (Multitude),” when God promised that He would make Abraham “a father of many nations.” (Genesis 17:5, footnotes) Likewise, God named the beast 666 as a symbol of its defining attributes.
The number six implies imperfection. Often, numbers are used as symbols in the Bible. Seven typically represents completeness or perfection. Six, being one short of seven, can denote something incomplete or flawed in God’s eyes, and it can be associated with God’s enemies.—1 Chronicles 20:6; Daniel 3:1.
Three times for emphasis. The Bible sometimes stresses a matter by stating it three times. (Revelation 4:8; 8:13) So the name 666 powerfully emphasizes that God views human political systems as gross failures. They have been unable to bring lasting peace and security—things that only God’s Kingdom will achieve.
    The mark of the beast
The Bible says that people receive “the mark of the wild beast” because they follow it “with admiration,” to the point of worshipping it. (Revelation 13:3, 4; 16:2) They do this by giving worshipful honor to their country, its symbols, or its military might. As The Encyclopedia of Religion states: “Nationalism has become a dominant form of religion in the modern world.” *
How is the mark of the beast placed on someone’s right hand or forehead? (Revelation 13:16) Regarding his commands to the nation of Israel, God said: “Bind them as a reminder on your hand, and they should be like a headband on your forehead.” (Deuteronomy 11:18) This meant, not that the Israelites were to mark their literal hands and foreheads, but that God’s words would guide all their actions and thoughts. Likewise, rather than being something literal such as a 666 tattoo, the mark of the beast symbolically identifies those who let the political system rule their lives. Those with the mark of the beast place themselves in opposition to God.—Revelation 14:9, 10; 19:19-21.
