Jehovah and his type are energy creatures, without DNA.

They do not need this Universe AT ALL.

Melinda Mills is correct .... technically Jehovah is from everlasting to everlasting ... only possible in a spacetime continuum without entropy and is not created.  He may possibly BE the non-entropic spacetime continuum, before the "Big Bang" created ours (?).

I agree with multiverse theory, so it's easy to reach that conclusion.

Indeed, but problems in the Middle East tends to throw the ball in the US's court.

Here on the Archive, I will lambast and excoriate a general idea or principle like firing an arrow high into the air ... and people will accuse me of slandering them, because they jumped high enough to reach the arrow, and get it stuck in their chest..

.... always good for a laugh!

  3. Reportedly Robert Redford, the actor, was a virgin when he was first asked to star in the 60's movie "The Graduate",  a classic that has withstood the test of time, and been referenced in other movies, TV shows and even cartoons since, even decades later.

He turned down the part, which subsequently went to Dustin Hoffman,  because he knew that although he was at the time a virgin ... he realized that NOBODY would believe it.

If you do not believe me then it seems you are calling me a liar. This is general practice for JW's that don't want to believe something. It starts with the GB and follows through with the elders. The Two Witness rule being a good example. Do you honestly think the Two Witness rule was meant to be used in a Child Abuse case ? And yet it is not used when a couple are accused of fornication.

I thought I was going to be reading  about your whiny  indignation at being called a liar ... but was pleasantly surprised by an irrefutable piece of logic and reasoning.

    You are right!

So now the question arises .... WHY .... on this issue (apparently ALONE)  has the GB decided that "THIS ts the Hill we are willing to die on ..."?

For good detectives, information is related in some way ... and is cumulative ... hence the occasional revelation ...  "Hey! ...  (facepalms forehead with a slap) ... it all a ADDS UP!"

SOMEWHERE IN THIS MORASS IS A GEM OF TRUTH.

    ABOUT WHY.

I suppose it's like hunting for REAL gems.   You have to dig through tons and tons of irrelevant spoil material to get to them.

I think there are easier ways to ensure you don't get your hands dirty, miss a meal, sleep cold and wear worn out clothes. We have quite a number of brothers in our hall that have done just that. (Done pretty well for themselves).

I was referring to the GB, not the folks at the bottom.  They at the bottom have absolutely no say or valued opinions whatsoever, and therefore not the same reprehensibility.

Think about the backgrounds of the GB .... they are all old men who if they were not doing what they do now ... what else COULD they do to survive in the "real" world, outside of free money, and LOTS of it?

They could not economically survive of their own devices, is my best guess.

Instead of reading scripture, it would be "You want fries with that?", or "Welcome to Wal-Mart".

They want our trust and cooperation, yes, but what personal advantage is it to them if they have "power and control" over people?

Then... they cannot be fired by anyone on Earth, and revolt is completely suppressed ... and no matter WHAT they do, or don't do ... the free money keeps rolling in ... and they never have to get their hands dirty, or miss a meal, or sleep cold, or wear worn out clothes.

This not in the slightest bit unusual, when religions have LOTS and LOTS of real estate.

    It is ho-hum normal.

    We are NOT the exception.

  7. Sometimes, to do the "right thing" ... you have to suffer GREAT personal injury, loss of livelihood, your home, your family, or even have to die.

Sometimes you have to do that thing which is abhorrent and against all natural ingrained inclinations ... AND THINK!

Dying is easy to do for your faith, losing your money and real estate is harder to do, as there is no glory in it.

Dying for your faith is an instant "free pass". OTHER people will clean up the mess.

Losing your money, your comfortable job,  and your real estate is embarrassing ... and HARD.

That is why we have the current policy of chopping off the babies head when it cries.

It does not require any real thinking, and we STILL sleep warm at night in a soft bed.

Because we know that ... no matter WHAT we do .... the free money keeps rolling in.

They may see double standards and be stumbled to the point of quitting the JW Org.

At Warwick Watchtower World Headquarters they have a very large lake on the property, with a huge remote controlled powered  valve on the bottom, ostensibly to release flood waters with the throw of a switch, when they get too high.

  9. If while readin' my posts, John, you keep your thumb on the left side of the monitor as you scroll down, you will not lose your place.

I throw my lot in with Jehovah's Witnesses ... not so much because I agree with them, but because generally, they agree with ME.

I only claim to be a Barbarian, interested in Justice, Truth, and the Theocratic Way.

Oh yes ... I almost forgot .... God's thinking makes perfect common sense, as TRUE theology must.

Corporate interpretations .... sometimes yes ...... sometimes no.

If I am wrong, I must pay the full price for my being wrong.

If THEY are wrong, I STILL pay that full price, whatever it is.

They pay no price whatsoever for totally screwing up other peoples' lives, when they are wrong.

I do not use Gmail ... but isn't it FREE ?

Corporate users presumably are paying THEIR money to have it THEIR WAY.

Welfare recipients, have limited or nonexistent righteous claims to the quality of FREE FOOD .... um... so to speak.

I pay $55.00 a year for my email account, and I have a RIGHT to complain.

....and ... have it MY way.
