What your leaders are doing by disfellowshipping, "killing" those who serve Christ and not false "christs", fulfills prophesy.  Did you think it would never be revealed?
    Matt 24:24; Matt 24:15,16; 2 Thess 2:3,4,9--12; Rev 13:1,2,4-11,14-17; Rev 11:1-3,7; Zech, chapter 4

No, what it means is, as long as you are true to God and follow scripture, you do not have to be obedient to the GB and its org.
So i can be a JW in the eyes of some as I still bear witness to God and Christ.
But I'm not one of Jehovah's Witnesses as I left that Org.
Actually Tom, you have made a fantastic loophole. You are saying that anyone that witnesses about 'Jehovah' is one of Jehovah's witnesses.
So in point of fact no one needs to become a member of that two sided Org, the Watchtower and JW Org.
You have actually made the lovely division between talking about God to others, and, being a member of a false religion that uses God's name. Thanks Tom.
You have made it clear that one does not need to be a member of JW Org or the Watchtower, to be able to serve God.

No. You still don’t have it right.
If one is witnessing for Jehovah, then that person is one of Jehovah’s Witnesses because he or she is doing what the name says. Why should that be so hard to understand?
Baptism indicates a resolve to be one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. It doesn’t indicate whether one is doing so or not. That is made clear by giving evidence of having a ministry—in this case, by turning in the time that you object to.

Except in Airports, where the "Clinton News Network" (CNN) pays the Airport to show their stuff, who watches CNN, anymore?  Their coverage of the First "Gulf War" was magnificent ... but they quickly devolved to pablum and spittle.

We had an elder who would tell uninterested people who lived in beautiful houses that after Armageddon he was going to live in their house after they were gone. He was such a cut-up that he could get away with these antics, but still . . .
  13. Thanks

Hmmm. You probably found some good counsel for me on that one. The beauty of some of these places really was impressive to me, especially the Huntington Library (Gardens). And so was the wedding, with "bowers of flowers" and other decorations everywhere. Also, I was not just "secretly" impressed either, as I gladly admitted it out loud. And, of course, I am also secretly impressed that all this "free vacation" for a week, cost me no more than the plane flight, as everything else was paid for -- through no merit of my own.
(I paid for the plane ticket because my wife and I were coming out here anyway for an "anniversary trip" -- which mostly means that I am out here installing an automatic "lift" in the back of my parents' car so that my mother doesn't have to push my father's electric wheelchair/scooter up an aluminum ramp at a too steep an angle anymore. [She's afraid to just put it in gear and let it drive up the ramp by itself.] My father usually uses a walker, but for assemblies and other places with a lot of walking, he uses the scooter.)

Sorry for the strange type style, but I am down in the basement of my Super-Yacht, in the money bin where all the gold coins are stored, with my picture on the front, and Warwick HQ on the back, trying to get the bulldozer unstuck from the escalator landing up to the pontoon helicopter landing pad/olympic swimming pool.
I try to lead a simple life, but it is so hard to get good help, nowadays!

Money does not impress me, but if I had enough of it, I would go to the Kingdom Hall in a huge old steam Locomotive Train, belching columns of fire and black smoke and burning coal embers, with clanging bells and blasting train air horns, ... having a construction crew of hundreds lay railroad tracks in front of it all the way from my house to the Kingdom Hall parking lot, and in front of the train, have circus elephants in tutus dancing and blowing trumpets.

.... and that, dear genteel souls, is why everyone reading this today are not slaves of the thousand year reign of Adolph Hitler, and his Third Reich, DAILY facing extreme hardship, deprivation, and death.

In my opinion war is not  'the right thing to do'. All this about men being tough doesn't wash with me.
And maybe most of those men were brainwashed into believing they would die and go to heaven.
The war was about men and women being conscripted to kill other men and women.
Remember even some Germans didn't go to war. Probably not only JW's at that.
Sorry James but you seem to have this thing about guns and men being tough. There is enough sh-t in life for some of us that we don't need war or guns to make it worse.

One day it occurred to me that people that face extreme hardship, deprivation, and death with a sure and solid hope in the resurrection have FAR less courage and convictions than the atheist who acting on his convictions, faces extreme hardship, deprivation and death.
I think I came to this realization watching a documentary in the "Battle of Britain" where the English Air force was hopelessly outnumbered by the German Luftwaffe, and as the English pilots rose into the sky to meet the enemy, they had no expectation of surviving the encounter ... and they did it anyway, because it was the right thing to do.
As atheists, they knew what was the right thing to do, and in doing it THEY WOULD BE DEAD FOREVER.
    .... now THAT'S courage.
