A gun should require more ongoing training than the average person will normally get. I see no reason why "Caesar" should not bear the sword and just hope and pray that "Caesar" will wield their weapons in a legal and responsible manner. Sometimes these videos are used as an incentive to push the wider, more general carrying of firearms by rank-and-file Joe Q Public, and even schoolteachers.
But notice the importance of training and accuracy. Assuming this is not a fake or set-up video (for the purpose just noted), evidently the off-duty policeman fired three shots at fairly close range. But in the above snipped clipping I made from the original video, notice what would have happened if one of those shots went through the original assailant's underarm, or he spun around or fell to the ground more rapidly than expected. The bit of magenta clothing in the picture is a young girl being pulled by her mother. Every one of those shots was therefore not just aimed at the assailant, but also at the mother and child behind him.
Many trained policemen have been in situations like this and accidentally shot or even killed innocent by-standers.
    Let's be careful out there!

there is a principle in searching out the truth or common sense of any matter, and it sounds very profound in Latin ... "Reducto ad Absurdum", that is, to reduce something to the absurd, to see if it still makes any sense.
It also works the other way ... to extrapolate an idea to the absurd (but I do not know the Latin expression for it ...), also to see if the original idea makes any sense.
I used to wear military style "dog tags" when I was younger, and the bottom two lines said
    " NO BLOOD OR
    BLOOD FRACTIONS"
The idea being that anyone who was in a position to give me  blood while  I was unconscious, and could not resist, seeing that phrase on a MILITARY style dog tag, absolutely would NOT violate it.   Even better than a medical directive ... as in a court of law, if he did, I would end up owning his house, car, and medical office ....and he would INSTANTLY think of that.
They will ALWAYS open your shirt to take vital signs before giving blood, and there, in glorious stainless steel, in a format and style that they instantly respect, on a stainless steel beaded chain is a medallion that says
    " NO BLOOD OR

I was only PARTIALLY kidding about the next size up from the bracelet you featured would be an 8"x10" sign on a neck chain, because that bracelet is HUGE ... and LOUD (visually).
Considering the PROBABILITY that you will ever need it, which is extremely low ...and the size of the thing, it screams  "Give me blood", which the other Brother jokesters alluded to.
Years ago I thought of tattooing an identification number on my body, in case I got blown up, so when they found my body, it could be identified ... and after a great deal of thought decided that it would be best on the soles of my feet.   I never did this, but I would have NEVER considered putting it on the inside of my left forearm, in a style similar to that used in Nazi death camps.
It's the same reason why Sisters getting married do not get wedding rings made from big old-style faceted glass doorknobs.
However, one of those bracelets might be a VERY good idea, when checking into a hospital for routine maintenance.

In my tool room I have perhaps 50 different types, styles and sizes of screwdrivers, and pliers of every description, and hatchets and hammers, saws, etc, that fill up a room the size of a single car garage.
Each tool is perfect for it's intended use.
I shall NOT be disappointed if in the unlikely event I make it into the New System, that my nipples do not become fully functional.
...although I DO appreciate ... oh .... um ....  never mind.

James Thomas Rook Jr. reacted to Witness in What was the reasoning behind not reporting such crimes?
Why spoil this superficial image that the organization tries desperately to maintain?
“Watch Yourselves for You Are Being Watched!”
Watchtower 1960 8/15 pp 503-508 - Instead of producing the “works of the flesh,” what kind of fruitage do witnesses of Jehovah bear?  12 So it is, by observing the conduct of Jehovah’s witnesses, people see that here is a good, upright and godly organization. …
They also see that here is a clean and virtuous organization whose members have “put off the works belonging to darkness,” who are not walking “in revelries and drunken bouts, not in illicit intercourse and loose conduct, not in strife and jealousy,” and who are not “planning ahead for the desires of the flesh.
“People of good will also see this tremendous difference and they are attracted to this clean organization, recognizing that here Jehovah’s spirit is dwelling.”—2 John 10, 11.
Now that we know what lies under the surface –we should be able to surmise God’s spirit does not dwell in the Watchtower.
“Woe to those who call evil good
        and good evil,
    who put darkness for light
        and light for darkness,
    who put bitter for sweet
        and sweet for bitter.
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes
and clever in their own sight. (Matt 24:48-51)
22 Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine (Rev 14:8; 18:3)
        and champions at mixing drinks,
23 who acquit the guilty for a bribe,
but deny justice to the innocent.  Isa 5:20-23

It is more of a philosophical thing with me.
Philosophically, as well as in real life, (which if your philosophy is based on reality, are the same ...), I try never to "bring a knife to a gun fight".
Space Merchant made these points quite well in discussing the Holy Spirit.
An essential "weapon" to have is a knowledge and understanding of the Greek language used at the time .... and to understand it correctly.

James Thomas Rook Jr. reacted to Evacuated in The Holy Spirit
The quote referenced above reads: "In the Bible, God’s holy spirit is identified as God’s power in action. Hence, an accurate translation of the Bible’s Hebrew text refers to God’s spirit as “God’s active force.” (Genesis 1:2) This concept is well supported throughout the Bible.—Micah 3:8; Luke 1:35;Acts 10:38."
Unfortunately, the inadequate and  bludgeoning reference to this quote in the opening remarks of the argument above displays a level of competency that calls into question the entire succeeding discussion. To enter into debate on the matters raised on the basis of the level of spiritual comprehension displayed in this opening gambit would be akin to a surgeon discussing the finer points of a heart transplant procedure with a meat butcher who prefers using a meat cleaver to a scalpel.

James Thomas Rook Jr. reacted to Evacuated in Has anyone ever been disfellowshipped AFTER they died for taking an unapproved fraction blood transfusion ?
A consideration of the context of this expression shows that the apostle Paul was discussing spirit-anointed Christians alive at that time. While still alive, they had been baptized into Christ Jesus and received the valid prospect of heavenly life. In order to be anointed with holy spirit and accepted as spiritual sons of God, they had to die to their former course in life as imperfect humans, have their sins forgiven by God and have human perfection imputed to them.
However, in view of the words at Romans 6:23 "For the wages sin pays is death", it is clear that Paul's use of a natural and actual illustration (in v7) in connection with the consequence of sin would enable it to correctly be said that "one who has died has been acquitted from his sin".
It may well be that some today still think that punishing someone twice for the same crime is an acceptable carriage of justice. They are in company with those who feel that God is justified in keeping alive and punishing forever in literal fire those who have sinned no more than a human lifetime (just a few minutes in Jehovah's timescale).
Such fleshly viewpoints confirm the apostle's words at 2 Cor.14-15.
As for extreme case scenario funerals, these would have to be subject to the consideration of those locally in consultation with the relevant Branch office. The circumstances outlined would be have to be relevant to the locality at the time they occur, in respect of the individuals involved. Hence, the only ones who could realistically respond on that would be the local Service Committee, and in view of the hypothetical nature of the question, I would highly suspect the response would be......................................................Silence!!

James Thomas Rook Jr. got a reaction from Queen Esther in What's for dinner tonight?
I myself prefer a fine Manischewitz  double thick, extra sugary blackberry wine, chilled to 36 degrees Fahrenheit ...  that gurgles and plops from the bottle like a fine jello, served in a bright red automotive funnel with a small finger stuck in the bottom.
When you twist open the aluminum bottle cap and smell the wonderful aroma of blueberry concentrate, you know you are in for some fine drinking!
Wonderful after a long hot day of crushing melancholia and depression, and you KNOW, that after the bottle is finished ... the taste will stay with you after several days of brushing your teeth, after you wake up in the morning, on the carpet, next to a pile of half-digested purple spaghetti.

You cannot be more spiritually prepared than stocking up with gallons and gallons of fine Jewish Kosher Wine, blessed by actual Rabbis, one bottle at a time.
