This post follows up on my last post looking more closely at the words in the Proclaimers book, repeated here:
At least by 1870, a publication edited by Joseph Seiss and associates and printed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was setting out calculations that pointed to 1914 as a significant date, even though the reasoning it contained was based on chronology that C. T. Russell later rejected. From what I can tell, the basic idea of these periods of time, especially the ones associated with 2,520 years, were about judgments visited upon the nation of Israel/Judah. As Seiss published:
Upon this one feature all prophetic periods‘ are made to depend; “the seven  times” of Moses, the two thousand and three hundred days,” and the other shorter periods of Daniel, all have primary reference to the chastisements visited upon this people and nation. Taking first the "seven times," or the two thousand five hundred and twenty years of dispersion and denationalization, for the disobedience and rebellion of Israel under the Law, as predicted by Moses (Lev. 26:18,21,24,28) and indicative of the entire period of God's displeasure toward them, and accepting the historical dates of God's afflictive dispensations. . . . The point here is that the "seven times" or 2,520 years are not taken from Nebuchadnezzar's tree dream prophecy in Daniel 4, but are called the "seven times" of Moses. This means, of course, that they come from Leviticus 26:18-28 which says:
(Leviticus 26:18-28) 18 "If even this does not make you listen to me, I will have to chastise you seven times as much for your sins. . . .  21 But if you keep walking in opposition to me and refuse to listen to me, I will then have to strike you seven times as much, according to your sins.. . . 24 then I too will walk in opposition to you, and I myself will strike you seven times for your sins. . . . 28 I will intensify my opposition to you, and I myself will have to chastise you seven times for your sins." The word here is not the word "times" in the sense of "iddan" as in Daniel which can refer especially to time periods, like weeks, months, seasons, years, etc. In Daniel the word is therefore translatable as "seven periods of time" but in Leviticus the term is not really "seven times" literally, but just "seven" as in the meaning of "7 times as much," or 7 instances. The literal word "times" doesn't even appear, and can be understood as a numerical multiple, as in the way "double/twice" or "triple/thrice" or "quadruple" can be used with numbers like 2, 3 and 4.  Something similar (and probably related) happens when Daniel prays about the fact that the 70 years of Jeremiah must be completed, and Daniel is told that it's not just going to be 70 years, but "7 TIMES 70" years before a complete fulfillment is seen. 
But did Russell really ever reject this reasoning?

Yesterday my wife and I were eating at Golden Corral, and I tell you ... they have some pretty huge heifers vacuuming up the buffet, there.
One very "top-heavy" rotund black woman had a t-shirt on with some complicated logo, and underneath were three lines of text. 
I am struggling to decipher the logo, and read the text, which is stretched in an arc around her equator, and she sees me staring at her shirt, and gives me "the look", puts her hand-hocks on what would have been her hips, and shakes her head at me, like what would have been her neck was on a sliding pivot.
I turn away, and try to finish my dessert.
My wife thinks this is VERY FUNNY!

Somehow this reminds me of WWII when Hitler built factories to produce a "peoples' car" .. the Volkswagen.
People sent in their money to finance the design and manufacture, and eventually they were SUPPOSED to get a car .... and the GOVERNMENT ended up with cars and machine guns.

Reminds me of a story an elderly lady told me about a traveling merchant who came to all the farms in the old days peddling a birth control. He said not to open the box for so many days. When the time was up he was long gone and all that was in there was a note saying don’t do it!

I wonder how many buildings are dedicated to housing the legal staff?
I wonder where the Governing Body's modest, unpretentious, standard "Bethel Issue" Apartments are?

The only truly effective "APP" that I have ever seen for birth control was the Johnny Carson "Tonite Show", and the "Late Late Show" after that ..... and having to go to work the next morning.
 

I have been trying to watch the little show here without getting involved, as I no longer much care if it doesn't involve "where the rubber meets the road" things that may or may not have happened several millennia ago... but perhaps here is something to think about ....
How did the people count time back then .... from January 1 to January 1 being one year .... or April  22nd to April 22nd being one year?
IF the Egyptians, Syrians, Babylonians, and Jews all had different start and end dates.... you could gain or lose a year right there.
My wife and I constantly have a different view of my age.  
I count my age from nearest birthday to nearest birthday, ... like they do in the life insurance business.  She counts my age by how many "birthdays" I have had.   There is a six month difference right there.
It could be more.
It's like adding and subtracting fractions ... to add 1/4  inch to 3/32 inch, to 26-5/8 inches to 22mm, to 16.234 cm to 3.567 feet ... you have to convert SOMETHING.   In fact, it all must be reduced to a COMMON SYSTEM before you begin.
Because my background of preference is Land Surveying, I convert the whole mess to Feet, and hundred-thousand-ths of a foot. because that is the way I think, and like to do calcs.
I HATE creeping round-off errors.
...and PI at 3.14 is only good for pie .... if you want to keep your aircraft from landing on it's nose in a corn field at high speed (flotation devices are under your seat...) , better have PI to at least eight places.  After calcs are finished, rounding off to six places is often acceptable.
Perhaps the same thing may be true with "587" calculations.
However ... "Stardates" are REALLY cumbersome.
 

It seems that the Watch Tower Society has finally bowed to the scientific evidence and now admits that evolution is true. Note these frank admissions in Watch Tower publications:
"The Bible is a myth" and "evolution is true".
"Evolution is true".
"Evolution is true . . . evolution is true . . . evolution is true".
"Evolution is true" and "The Bible is myth".
"The theory of evolution is true".
And the history book "Jehovah's Witnesses: Proclaimers of God's Kingdom" has moved the history of the Watch Tower organization back by 100 years, now saying that:
"In [1776], an article written by Charles Taze Russell was published in the magazine Bible Examiner."
"Beginning in about [1776], arrangements were made each year by the Bible Students for commemoration of the Lord’s death."
"Ever since [1776] the year [1874] had been Scripturally identified as a turning point in human history."

Thinking about this further from a legal perspective, it was a lawyer who stated (Rom.2:14-15):
"For when people of the nations, who do not have law, do by nature the things of the law, these people, although not having law, are a law to themselves.  They are the very ones who demonstrate the matter of the law to be written in their hearts, while their conscience is bearing witness with them, and by their own thoughts they are being accused or even excused."
Wouldn't this seem to add a perspective to the obvious connection between various ancient legal codes?

First of all, I am not aware, nor have I EVER been aware that Allen Smith had a .... "condition".  What is he ....  a one legged tap dancing midget with dandruff? (????). 
I ridicule him for his screwball ideas and goofy Snowflake perspective on the Universe.
However, if you tell me what your ..."condition" is ... perhaps I can make a special effort to make fun of it.
Think of it as having your dandruff scratched.
And as I have stated at least eight times ... I never claimed to be a JW, merely a Barbarian interested in justice, and equity for all, and COMPLETE freedom of speech, as long as there is no "biologically based vulgarity".  
I think the phrase "low down scum sucking pig" where appropriate, is quite acceptable ... IF (and ONLY IF) I have been attacked first ... or it's an idea or philosophy that I feel that tongue needs to be stuck to a sub-zero metal pole.
I try NOT to waste my time attacking people.
They are ephemeral, and biodegradable.
IDEAS ARE FOREVER.
If it was up to me, AllenSmith(n), I would never have censured or restricted ANYTHING you have ever said ... as with the mountains of insults and arrogant condensation , occasionally you come up with a gem of an idea.
Or several.
Never fear insulting me, that I will take offense.  Give it your best shot.  If you wish, hire professional insulters.
I like to think I CANNOT be insulted ... so I never take offense.

I was on the second ARK .... the one with the dinosaurs, and I had Polaroid photographs taken by my fiance at the time, Wilma Slaghoople ( who later ran off and married Fred Flintstone) with me ... and the First ARK in the background.
Unfortunately they did not show the bow or stern of the ship, ..... SOOOooooo .... without hard evidence. I would be reticent to telling what I know about the construction of the ARK ... because I cannot PROVE it.
It would have to be considered as OPINION ONLY.
By the way ... below is proof the Dinosaurs survived ....
