JWs have put themselves among company in which peer-pressure is going to nudge them in the safer direction. Non-Witnesses, many of them, (recall that I said “with some exaggeration”) have put themselves in a place where their peer-pressure will not. Do not think that peer-pressure is nothing. It is the reason that we look at our photos of yesteryear and marvel at how we ever could have thought those dorky styles back then did anything for us.

Yes, I thoroughly agree with that statement (therefore I do not need to be assured this is proof of Jehovahs backing, in this situation (covid)) and I said this in one of my posts above.  My use of the Catholic church was just an example. Probably a bad one. But my point was that just because someone does something right, is it proof of Jehovah's backing? And what if we do something that turns out to be wrong advice, as the GB has admitted (because they are fallible and can err) does that mean this is proof they do not have Jehovah's backing? I think it was just a really bad choice of words....and a little presumptuous. And was it really necessary for him to say it? Something like this surely would have been more appropriate and modest: "the advice that the GB are giving is proof that they really apply the scriptures in their life and are allowing the holy spirit to lead them" and he could have even added "we will do well to immitate them". But saying this is proof of God's backing is almost painfully insecure. Like we need to be assured because some are doubting. But do not actions speak louder than words? Should it not be left up to others to make that deduction, (like you and I did) rather than say it about themselves? And they did say it about themselves, because as I have already commented to Tom, everything that is published first gets approved (by the GB).

I have never seen you give them  credit - so yes, according the hate-gang members they can do nothing right.
Always long stories on how controlling and misleading the GB are etc. 
There is so much false news stories out there and so many hateful apostates which are deceitful with the spin they put on news, I would also warn young people to stay away from lies. When learning English - one only needs to study good English.  You will recognize bad English immediately if one has learnt good English.  One does not need to study bad English to recognize bad English.  Similarly, one need not go and find out what apostates have to say. Just study the bible and you will immediately recognize what is kind and righteous - one need not have apostates teaching you.... Like I do here on this forum.  I recognize hate and its deceptive speech the minute I see it.
Another point: If there is a  news flash tomorrow issued by GB that JWs can now take blood,  or we can now use guns, or vote, - do you really think JWs will just blindly follow?  Or will they recognize it as a falsehood? They will immediately think someone has taken over the GB..... I would wager you that most JWs would recognize it as the work of Satan….  WHY?  because all of us have been trained in the word of Jehovah.... not the word of the GB.

A new strain of flu that has the potential to become a pandemic has been identified in China by scientists.
It emerged recently and is carried by pigs, but can infect humans, they say.
The researchers are concerned that it could mutate further so that it can spread easily from person to person, and trigger a global outbreak.
While it is not an immediate problem, they say, it has "all the hallmarks" of being highly adapted to infect humans and needs close monitoring.
As it's new, people could have little or no immunity to the virus.
The scientists write in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences that measures to control the virus in pigs, and the close monitoring of swine industry workers, should be swiftly implemented.

It is odd that so many here will deride scholars for their view on evolution—and will lap up whatever they have to say on every other point.

While I am happy to know about this persons book,  I am fortunately not an admirer of persons - no matter how good a scholar they may be because they are just human.  Scholars are prone to all the failings other humans have and sometimes more prideful - unfortunately.  I wish him well.  Now that he needs the support of fellow witnesses, he has set himself up in a lonely way because he thought he could ride the top of the tidal wave on his scholarliness - get attention for his profession and not for Jehovah's glory..
He will have to show humility to return....  

As you may already hear or read about Covid 19 in Croatia, Croatia is, according to news,  among few countries that had best results in protection population from pandemic in "first wave".  In cca 4 months (from last period of February to July 7) here is 3272 infected, 2141 cured and 113 deaths.
The ruling parliamentary party, which won elections again on Sunday, boasts that the situation is good with regard to this contagion because they have managed well in times of crisis and made the right decisions. 
So, which, what God was with HDZ (party in power)? Did HDZ received JHVH help and does this is proof how JHVH helped this party to won elections again and to be His Servant ("secular authority") in Croatia? :))

Self-sacrifice by starvation  for religious reasons.....  Does that sound like JWs?   It sounds like the stories of Jews drinking blood of babies. 
Maybe witnesses visited them and they listened..... and that gave neighbors the idea they were Jws.  People make up their own narrative about things especially in backwaters.

I will tell you why: because if I go out and commit immorality and I am found out, and I am not repentant I will be disfellowshipped. Thousands are disfelowshipped every year for unrepentant immorality. If you think you can stop people from being immoral then you are being very unrealistic. The only thing that can be done is revoke membership. Which is what is being done. What's your argument with that?

I only started calling out your -hate-OCD after seeing your repetitive behavior here on the forum as constant, repetitive and unreasonable hate.  That is all.  I do not reprove you every time you say some hateful or illogical things.... just on occasion, hoping to make you realize what you are doing. We are not surprised..... Jesus said a true Christian would love their enemies..... so we know they are not true Christian but false Christians.

If you were there it would never have happened, I am sure you have all the answers.  I am sure if you were in control and your advice were followed everything would have been absolutely 100 percent ok without any problems...…. you would have implemented all the right solutions to every problem since you have all the Spirit...….. if you were teaching and leading as you wanted to - everything would have been hunky-dory.
