  1. Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton will face a tight race in November, according to CNN’s “Poll Of Polls,” an average of the five most recent nationwide polls. AP Photos The “Poll of Polls” found that Clinton and Trump are within two points of each other nationally. Clinton has a slight lead with 45 percent to Trump’s 43 percent. CNN notes that the “tightened margins” come from “a more unified Republican Party.” The survey also found that “about 1-in-8 registered voters” aren’t currently backing either candidate. — Follow Kate Scanlon (@kgscanlon) on Twitter Read more stories from TheBlaze SiriusXM Temporarily Suspends Glenn Beck Over Brad Thor’s Comments About Trump: ‘This Is NOT What He Meant’ Glenn Beck Skewers Rubio For Supporting Trump: ‘You Have No Credibility With Me Any More’ Trump Goes After ABC Reporter in Middle of Press Conference on Veteran Donations: ‘You’re a Sleaze’ Never-Trumper Bill Kristol Is Eyeing This Conservative Lawyer For a Third-Party Run Famed Physicist Stephen Hawking Weighs in on Trump: ‘He’s a Demagogue…’ Source

  3. Whether he’s on or off the field, in season or out of season, Oklahoma State University quarterback Mason Rudolph likes to show off his game. Rudolph posted a video to Instagram Monday of him and two others at Lake Anna in Virginia. Rudolph, football in hand, is seen making a pass to another individual as he jumps into the water from a diving board. The jumper then tosses it back to Rudolph while in midair. Moments later, Rudolph throws the ball to someone else driving a jet ski, who seamlessly catches the projectile. “That is so cool,” one Instagram user commented. “Woah,” another exclaimed. “Holy crap that was awesome,” one more opined. 5. The belief that the Koran promises 72 virgins in heaven for Muslim martyrs is the result of a monumental “mistranslation,” according to Islam scholar Irshad Manji, who claims that these individuals are, instead, offered “raisins” after death. “Nowhere in the Koran does it promise 72 virgins, 70 virgins, 48 virgins. What it promises, as far as heaven goes, is something lush,” Manji told CNN’s Fareed Zakaria. “The Arabic word for virgin has been mistranslated. The original word that was used in the Koran was the word for ‘raisin,’ not ‘virgin.’ In other words, that martyrs would get raisins in heaven, not virgins.” Manji, who made this claim last month during a CNN special titled, “Why They Hate Us,” cited “several scholars” who she said have investigated this issue and concluded that the word “raisin” is a more appropriate Koranic fit: Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh referenced Manji‘s comments on the matter in a recent segment as well, explaining that he subsequently began looking into the dispute over the Arabic meaning of the word. “I just am not wantonly accepting of this stuff. I actually dug into this,” Limbaugh said last month. “I found out that it is an ongoing controversy within Islam, the definition of the word that has been translated ‘virgins’ as it’s used by militant Islamists as they recruit.” The radio host said that the debate remains unsettled and that “there is one interpretation that does mean raisins.” WMAL radio host Chris Plante also addressed the issue on his show, taking a more sarcastic approach to the dispute over the definition. “They’ve got bad news for jihadists,” he quipped before playing Manji‘s comments, laughing throughout the segment and taking aim at Zakaria and Manji. “Seventy-two raisins in a Sunkist box, and they are doing this straight faced. They are a satire of themselves.” He continued, “The wheels have come off inside what’s left in their minds. These people are not well.” This idea about raisins is not new, as a 2002 piece in the Guadian noted that author Christoph Luxenberg‘s book “Die Syro-Aramaische Lesart des Koran,” posited that “many obscurities of the Koran disappear if we read certain words as being Syriac and not Arabic.” Based on this methodology, Luxenberg came to the conclusion that “white raisins” or “crystal clarity” were the real potential meanings behind the text attributed to virgins, according to the article. 8. A Florida gun store owner made national headlines in July after he declared his business a “Muslim-free zone” following the Chattanooga shooting that left five U.S. service members dead. Now, the Inverness shop is stirring up controversy again with a new politically charged product. Image source: YouTube/Florida Gun Supply “Now, I have a moral and legal responsibility to ensure the safety of all patriots in my community,” Florida Gun Supply owner Andy Hallinan said in a video uploaded to Facebook last summer announcing the Muslim ban. “And so effective immediately I’m declaring Florida Gun Supply a Muslim-free zone. I will not arm and train those who wish to do harm to my fellow patriots.” Hallinan’s most recent video on the Florida Gun Supply YouTube channel features shooting targets depicting President Barack Obama and Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. The targets are now for sale on the store’s website at a discounted price of $4.99 (previously $9.99) for all three. Image source: floridagunsupply.com A product description for the targets reads: Is this target really legal? Absolutely. The First Amendment protects the right to free expression, which includes the right to shoot, burn, or in any way destroy an image of anyone including the president as long you’re not posing a “credible threat.” The standard here is whether there is genuine intent to commit or incite violence, and also whether that violence is likely to actually occur. If there’s no “clear and present danger,” as Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. put it, there’s no basis for censorship. So unless the Seaside Heights boardwalk is, in fact, a surreptitious assassination training ground, the game is perfectly legal. The Clinton and Obama targets were previously available, but the Sanders target was added in April. Hallinan posted a video at the time apologizing because “I didn’t show my new Bernie Sanders target sooner.” He even created a separate website called BernieTargets.com to sell the targets, as well as a wide range of “politically incorrect” gear. — Follow the author of this story on Twitter: Follow @carlyhoilman Read more stories from TheBlaze SiriusXM Temporarily Suspends Glenn Beck Over Brad Thor’s Comments About Trump: ‘This Is NOT What He Meant’ Glenn Beck Skewers Rubio For Supporting Trump: ‘You Have No Credibility With Me Any More’ Trump Goes After ABC Reporter in Middle of Press Conference on Veteran Donations: ‘You’re a Sleaze’ Famed Physicist Stephen Hawking Weighs in on Trump: ‘He’s a Demagogue…’ Never-Trumper Bill Kristol Is Eyeing This Conservative Lawyer For a Third-Party Run Source

  12. American race car driver Alexander Rossi won Sunday’s 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 and brought the Borg-Warner trophy to the observation deck of the Empire State Building to meet the press Tuesday. Speaking with a reporter from TMZ, Rossi was asked if President Barack Obama had called to congratulate him. “No,” said Rossi, adding, “Now, that’s another thing that’s going to bum me out.” The reporter pressed the Indy 500 winner, asking Rossi if he thought he should get a call from the president. A chuckling Rossi responded, “Yeah, why not?” he said. “That’s the most American thing we coulda done — 100th running of the Indy 500 in Indianapolis, American won. 19. BANGKOK (AP) — Forty dead tiger cubs were found Wednesday in a freezer at a Buddhist temple that operated as an admission-charging zoo, a national parks official said. The discovery happened while authorities were removing mostly full-grown live tigers from the temple in western Kanchanaburi province following accusations that monks were involved in illegal breeding and trafficking of the animals. AP Photo The cubs were found in a freezer where the temple staff kept food, said Anusorn Noochdumrong, an official from the Department of National Parks who has been overseeing the transfer of the temple’s 137 tigers to shelters. Since Monday, 60 have been tranquilized and removed. “We don’t know why the temple decided to keep these cubs in the freezer,” Anusorn said. “We will collect these carcasses for DNA analysis.” The cubs appeared to be up to a week old, he said. Authorities plan to file charges against the temple for illegally possessing endangered species, he said. The temple’s Facebook page said in March that the temple’s former vet had decided in 2010 to stop cremating cubs that died soon after birth. Calls to the temple’s office were not answered. Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation via AP The temple, a popular tourist attraction, has been criticized by animal rights activists because of allegations it is not properly set up to care for the animals and flouted regulations restricting the trade of tigers. The monks resisted previous efforts to take away the tigers, but relented this week after police obtained a court order. The temple recently made arrangements to operate as a zoo, but the plan fell through when the government determined that the operators failed to secure sufficient resources.
