No arrests have been made after police in Elkhart, Indiana, said a passenger in a car threw gasoline in a drive-thru worker’s face at a McDonald’s earlier this month. A video of the incident was recorded inside the car by another passenger, posted on Facebook and then taken down Saturday, WBND-TV reported Image source: WBND-TV The clip shows three people inside the car, two in the front seat — and another in the back seat holding a large plastic cup partially filled with liquid. Part of the clip shown on WBND includes references to the individual as “gas man” and one voice saying, presumably regarding the cup’s contents, it “could really hurt somebody.” Image source: WBND-TV The individual was seen on the video leaning out of the car window, holding the cup near the drive-thru window and apparently trying to get the employee’s attention before tossing the cup’s contents at her. The victim, Kayla Prater, is a manager at the restaurant and told WBND she’s been afraid to go back to work since the May 20 incident and wants justice. She went to the hospital after the incident, the station reported in an earlier story. “Here’s somebody out working the late night hours trying to help everybody and provide for her and her family, and she has to go through something like this,” Sgt. Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump held a press conference Tuesday to highlight the millions of dollars he’s raised for veterans groups, but the real subject of his news conference seemed to be the media. The real estate mogul decried reporters who asked questions regarding the specifics of his donations to various veterans groups. Originally, Trump had said that he’d raised more than $6 million. On Tuesday, Trump announced he’d raised $5.6 million but expected more in the future. Aside from reading off a list of which veterans organizations benefited from his donations — and by how much — Trump also lambasted the “dishonest media” who he said gave him “bad publicity” despite his raising money for veterans and singled out individual reporters for criticism. CAIRO (AP) — A 17-year-old girl has died while undergoing female circumcision in Egypt, prompting health authorities to shut down the hospital and refer doctors for prosecution, a senior health official said Tuesday. But it remains widespread in the country, where an estimated 90 percent of women have undergone some form of the procedure. Lotfi Abdel-Sameeia, a senior Health Ministry official, said Manar Moussa and her twin sister underwent the surgery in the city of Suez on Saturday. The other girl survived, but Manar died of a suspected stroke while under anesthesia. The Suez city health inspector in charge of issuing the burial permits reported his suspicions to health and security authorities after examining the body. A forensic report has yet to be released to determine the cause of death, Abdel-Sameeia said. Authorities ordered the hospital closed on Monday and referred two doctors and the head of the hospital for prosecution. Abdel-Sameeia said they face allegations of conducting a banned procedure and causing Manar’s death. He said the hospital has received several warnings before over its poor health record, including its lack of an intensive care unit. Vivian Fouad, the head of a Health Ministry program to combat female genital mutilation, called the incident a “crime committed by criminals known as doctors. ” She said such operations are usually carried out on younger girls. The first case in which a doctor was charged, convicted, and sentenced for carrying out female circumcision was in 2015, after a girl’s death two years earlier. The doctor was sentenced to two years in prison, which Fouad said had served as “deterrence.” Rights groups have criticized the law because it considers the practice a misdemeanor punishable by up to two years in prison. The Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights, along with Fouad, has called for the crime to be reclassified as a felony. In 2012, The U.N. General Assembly unanimously approved a resolution calling for a global ban on female genital mutilation. New York police arrested a 61-year-old Bronx man Monday after he reportedly beat his wife’s attempted rapist to death, WNYW-TV reported. The incident occurred just before 10 p.m. Monday when the alleged assailant, whom authorities identified as 43-year-old Earl Nash, broke into Diallo’s apparment in the Morrisania neighborhood and began attacking his wife, Nenegale Diallo. Nenegale told DNA Info that when she heard a knock on the door, she thought it might have been her kids returning home. But when she opened the door, Nash allegedly pushed his way in and locked the door behind him. The victim said that when Nash began tearing her clothes off, she begged him stop and pleaded with him, “Please, anything you want, I give you.” “I don’t want money, I’m going to rape you,” the Nash reportedly replied. But Nenegale managed to break free long enough to reach for a phone and call her husband, who was outside the building at the time of the attack. That’s when Mamadou ran up to the sixth floor and confronted the suspect in the hallway of the apartment. Police discovered Nash unconscious and unresponsive with severe trauma to his head and body, WNYW reported. The suspect was then taken to Lincoln Hospital in critical condition by an EMS crew. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. An NYPD spokesman told DNA Info that Nash had been arrested 14 times since 1997. Previous offenses include selling drugs, bribery, harassment and criminal contempt, according to criminal records. His most recent arrest was May 14 for trespassing, a parole violation. After Monday evening’s altercation, Diallo, a livery driver from Guinea, was arrested and charged with manslaughter. “He’s a good guy.
