  4. A DePaul University student fed-up with her peers disrupting a Tuesday event featuring provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos decided to take matters into her own hands. While security stood by and watched, junior Kati Danforth walked on stage and confronted the Black Lives Matter protesters who were attempting to shut down the event. “Alright, you guys really need to check yourselves,” Danforth told the rowdy group of demonstrators. “You’re in a place and you’re not respecting it,” she added. — Scroll down for video — Image source: Screen grab Moments later, one of the protesters walked up to her and shouted something in her face. “I’m a white supremacist now? Because I believe in hard work and deciding that I need to make a life for myself makes me a racist, a bigot and a white supremacist?” Danforth asked. “You’re being lazy and disrespectful,” she told the student. “And I’m pretty sure your parents didn’t raise you to be disrespectful!” Danforth tried to convince her peers to stand down by noting that several conservative groups had worked hard and paid for the event to take place. Her arguments fell on deaf ears. “It’s an opinion guys! It’s an opinion! It’s not going to kill you!” she shouted. “If you believe in who you are and you know who you are, it will not bother you!” “I know who I am! I am Kati Danforth. I am a math major and junior at DePaul University and I am working my ass off to become something!” she added as the audience rose to their feet in applause. Yiannopoulos ultimately chose to end the event early because the protesters wouldn’t exit the stage. Instead, the Breitbart editor led a group of students to the school’s administrative office to complain about security’s failure to restore order to the room. 13. Former Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum said Tuesday he is “100 percent” behind presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump because the Supreme Court is the most important issue of the election. While attending the funeral of late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, an icon in conservative circles, earlier this year, Santorum told Fox News host Greta Van Susteren that it became clear to him that “the most important issue right now is to preserve the Constitution.” Image source: Fox News screen grab Should likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton win the general election in November, Santorum told Van Susteren that the nomination of five “progressive, ultraliberal” justices would “rewrite the Constitution and the next 25 years of America would be changed.” Santorum added that he approved of the billionaire businessman’s Supreme Court picks, which he announced last week. “They are solid folks,” he said. “They will preserve the Constitution, and that is the most important thing we can have in this election.” However, along with Santorum’s strong comments in support of Trump, he also told the Fox News anchor that he does not favor the way in which the presumptive Republican nominee is campaigning. “I don’t think you’re going to see a lot of good for discourse over the next several months, from either camp,” Santorum said of the personal attacks currently plaguing the political cycle. Of Trump’s rhetoric when it comes to the way he’s going after Clinton, Santorum said the real estate developer’s brash style has “worked very well for him.” “I think maybe Americans want a little unvarnished, and I can’t say that I’m crazy about it,” he added. 18. Another episode of violent protests broke out Tuesday night at a rally for Donald Trump — this time, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Right outside the venue, several hundred protesters reportedly broke through police barricades, lit fires and threw several items at law enforcement officers and reporters stationed there. At one point, protesters could be seen waving Mexican flags, while shouting obscenities like, “F*** Donald Trump!” As the disruptions continued to escalate, police rode into the crowds on horseback in an effort to break up the protesting. The scene became so chaotic, that a temporary lockdown was put in place at the front of the site, where a glass window was shattered, according to Politico. Minor property damage resulted from the protests. Some also claimed to have heard gunshots, but the Albuquerque Police Department later tweeted that there was “no confirmation” that shots had been fired. While Trump spoke, activists frequently interrupted him. But, in is typical fashion, the brash billionaire was quick to fire back insults at the belligerent protesters. “He can’t get a date so he’s doing this instead,” Trump said of one protester.” Of another, he said, “How old is this kid?” “Still wearing diapers,” the presumptive GOP nominee added. Several protesters outside the event site claimed officers deployed tear gas to disperse the crowds, but police disputed that claim, saying they used smoke bombs instead. However, officers did reportedly use pepper spray on the protesters outside. It was only protesters who were inside the venue who were apprehended by security, the Times reported. 25. A rambunctious group of Black Lives Matter protesters walked on stage and interrupted a DePaul University event conservative provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos was speaking at Tuesday — and security failed to take any action to reinstate order into the room. As Yiannopoulos — a senior editor at Breitbart — offered his view on feminism, demonstrators stormed the stage and started shouting “dump the Trump.” The event was hosted by the school’s College Republicans chapter and Yiannopoulos is an outspoken Trump supporter. Moments later, an unidentified female protester ripped the microphone out of the event moderator’s hands, walked over to Yiannopoulos and shouted, “What do you have got to say?” Content warning: Strong language Yiannopoulos, known for his provocative remarks, shot back a few comments. “I worked out why there are so many black girls here. I think it’s because I f***ed their brothers,” the openly-gay Yiannopoulos said. “Imagine going home to your parents and having to explain that you were in prison for protesting a faggot,” he later quipped. “Well mom, there was this gay man who just had the wrong opinions. Image source: Screen grab Security was called to the scene, but when officers arrived, they only stood by and watched. Eventually Yiannopoulos got word that they would not remove the protesters, despite him saying that one had threatened to physically assault him. “I asked them why they didn’t do that and they didn’t give an answer,” Yiannopoulos told TheBlaze. “[T]his is a college that sprung security costs on the students at the last possible moment. Tried to make them pay thousands in security costs. … And security just simply didn’t do their job.” A representative for DePaul University was not available for comment to TheBlaze Tuesday evening. Yiannopoulos, who told TheBlaze he would like security costs refunded, was forced to end the event. He instead led hundreds of student supporters in a march toward the university president’s office to ask why security failed to do their jobs. Yiannopoulos also offered a strong critique of the student demonstrators. “This is precisely why people are losing interest in the Black Lives Matter movement,” he told TheBlaze. “It is why you have achieved nothing. It is why you will achieve nothing. And every time this happens, people at home are more and more horrified at your childish and authoritarian tactics.” This is far from the first time college protesters have attempted to shut down an event featuring a conservative speaker. The issue was even raised by President Barack Obama earlier this month when he addressed the “trend around the country of trying to get college to disinvite speakers with a different point of view or disrupt a politician’s rally.” “Don’t do that, no matter how ridiculous you might find the things that come out of their mouths,” Obama said. “Because, as my grandmother used to tell me, every time a fool speaks, they are just advertising their own ignorance. Let them talk.” — Follow the author of this story on Twitter and Facebook: Follow @oliverdarcy Read more stories from TheBlaze ‘Frozen’ Actress Responds to Campaign Urging Disney to Make Elsa a ‘Lesbian Princess’: ‘I think It’s Great…’ High School Graduates’ Defiant Response to Atheists’ Demand That the Lord’s Prayer Be Stripped From Commencement — and the Rousing Applause That Followed Glenn Beck Predicts Pedophilia is the ‘Next Stop on This Train’ Trump: I Don’t Know Enough to Discuss, but Suicide of Former Clinton White House Aide ‘Very Fishy’ ‘Way to Show Discipline at West Point’: Cadet Blasted After Video Shows Her Marching to Graduation — but Focused on Something Else Entirely Source
