Fox News host Neil Cavuto blasted Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert McDonald Monday for comparing the extensive wait times at VA hospitals to the long lines for rides at Disneyland, calling his comments both “callous” and “stupid.”
“Last time I checked, you don’t die waiting on a line for Disney,” Cavuto remarked. “You do die waiting for care.”
“And by the way,” he continued, “people who go to a park on a lark are very different from people who put it all on the line for this country so that folks like you and me can go to a park on a lark!”
The shocked Fox News host went on to say that, though he’s covered Washington politics for many years, he has never heard a “doozy” of this magnitude from a politician before. He also informed McDonald that Disney does, in fact, monitor its wait times — “that’s why they keep them curving and winding and have monitors to pass the time.”
“I don’t know if it’s just callous or stupid, maybe both,” Cavuto said, adding that the secretary’s comments were “craziness.”
Additionally, the frustrated Fox News anchor noted that no one waits for months at a time to get onto a ride at Disneyland.

Terrorism has been a subject of great interest throughout the 2016 presidential election. And after last week’s EpyptAir plane crash that killed 66, voters are looking even more intently to understand the anti-terror plans of presidential hopefuls Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
Trump launched a new attack on his Democratic counterpart after Clinton called his foreign policy skills into question in the hours and days following Thursday’s plane crash.
In the past, Clinton has condemned Trump’s rhetoric regarding Muslims as something that fuels terror groups like the Islamic State instead of isolating them as a radical minority.
Last week, Clinton called Trump’s views “dangerous” and impulsive to America and its allies. In an interview with CNN, she asserted that his proposal for a Muslim ban sent a “message of disrespect” to American allies in the Middle East.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal Sunday, the presumptive Republican nominee claimed that the former secretary of state “knows nothing about national security” and “is grossly incompetent when it comes to national security.”
“ISIS sits back and laughs at her,” Trump said.
Trump responded to the criticism he received from the Clinton campaign last week after he quickly labeled the incident involving the missing airliner an act of terrorism before having all of the facts.
“Why should I be politically correct?” he said Sunday, adding that the timing of his statement is irrelevant because “I’m turning out to be right. I’m always right … you’ll see, you’ll see. I’m always right.”
Though the investigation into the May 19 crash of EgyptAir Flight 804 is ongoing, Egypt’s aviation minister has since said the chance that a terror attack brought down the plane was “higher than the possibility of a technical failure.”
If what happened Thursday was an act of terrorism, it is the second attack on a commercial airline in the region in the last seven months. Metrojet Flight 9268 crashed in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula in October. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for what turned out to be an attack that killed all 224 people on board.
In an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press” that aired Sunday, Clinton claimed that Trump’s brash approach to foreign policy poses “immediate dangers” to the American people.
Trump told the Wall Street Journal that what the country needs is a “tough tone,” something he doesn’t think Clinton is prepared to use when discussing the real threat of Islamic extremism.
The GOP candidate refused to accept that his declaration regarding the EgyptAir crash was “impulsive.”
“I’m not impulsive, she was impulsive,” Trump insisted. “She voted for the war and I was against the Iraq war. She’s impulsive.”

Donald Trump is trying to build a wall. This one to protect his Irish golf resort from the effects of global warming, according to Politico.
Although the presumptive Republican nominee has called climate change “a total hoax” and “pseudoscience,” he is concerned about the risk it presents to his seaside golf resort in Ireland.
The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.

Trump is applying for a permit to build a seawall next to Trump International Golf Links & Hotel Ireland in County Clare to protect the property from the effects of climate change, according to Politico, which viewed the application for the permit. The outlet reported that the permit included an environmental impact statement claiming that the erosion caused by a rising sea level could damage the property.
“In our view, it could reasonably be expected that the rate of sea level rise might become twice of that presently occurring,” the application states, adding, “As a result, we would expect the rate of dune recession to increase.”
“The existing erosion rate will continue and worsen, due to sea level rise, in the next coming years, posing a real and immediate risk to most of the golf course frontage and assets,” it continues.
Former Vice President Al Gore, now a climate change activist, criticized Trump’s position on the issue during an interview Monday on NBC’s “Today,” adding that he hopes Trump proves to be “malleable” on the issue should he be elected president.

It was Pride Night at Petco Park, and the San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus walked out to center field before the Padres game and readied themselves to sing the national anthem.
But as the 100-member group stood facing the crowd Saturday, suddenly someone else was singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” — a woman’s recorded voice over the loudspeakers.
OK, it happens. You hit a wrong button, flip the wrong switch — so you cut the sound and get things right.
Except that the recorded voice kept going. In fact, the invisible woman sang the entire national anthem as the Gay Men’s Chorus was left standing there.
“We were just excited to be at a game and let the audience see us and hear us and let [them] know that we’re sports fans too, and we’re normal guys,” RC Haus, artistic director for the chorus, told the San Diego Union-Tribune. “And then a woman sings over us, and it was mortifying.”
Choral member Dan England added, “I just felt this dread come over me because I was so embarrassed. Some of us started to sing along. After that, we just stood there. We thought they would ask us to sing, but they just asked us to leave the field.”
But while some fans said encouraging words on their way out, the chorus’ executive director, Bob Lehman, told the Union-Tribune others shouted insults, among them, ”You sing like a girl.”
John Brown, executive director of the San Diego Human Dignity Foundation, wondered to the paper if it was a prank.
“This is a time when the Padres are really looking to build community support,” Brown told the Union-Tribune. “They’ve got to understand that the LGBT community is large in San Diego, it is supported by our community’s leaders, and the majority of people who live here. This kind of thing isn’t acceptable at all.”
Lehman told CNN that the Padres were “difficult to work with” and asked the chorus to pay for tickets to the game. While Lehman said the team later apologized for the ticket purchase request, he told CNN the chorus doesn’t trust the Padres and asked for an investigation.
“Besides the obvious embarrassment there is a feeling in the community that this was done on purpose,” Lehman told CNN. “My first instinct was that this was done on purpose. I really don’t want to believe that. I just can’t.”
The national anthem isn’t always performed live at Padres games, and the Union-Tribune said in this case a recorded version was supposed to be played while the gay men’s chorus was on the field — and the Padres said in its apology late Sunday that a technical error led to the wrong recording going over the loudspeakers.

— San Diego Padres (@Padres) May 23, 2016
While the team said it found “no evidence of malicious intent on the part of any individuals involved,” it severed ties ways with “the third-party contractor who was responsible for the error.”
Billy Bean — a former Padre player who came out as gay and is now the league’s vice president of social responsibility and inclusion — defended his former team:
Yesterday in SD. @Padres @SDGayMensChorus pic.twitter.com/n5jmCSLPEc
— Billy Bean (@billybeanball) May 22, 2016
Still the chorus wants the city of San Diego and Major League Baseball to investigate, the Union-Tribune said, and requested a meeting with team officials.
Matt Awbrey, the San Diego mayor’s deputy chief of staff, said in an e-mail to the paper that the city attorney’s office had been asked to review the case. But a spokesman for city attorney didn’t have information on the complaint Sunday.
“I don’t want to live in a city where the LGBT community thinks the Padres hate them,” Lehman told the Union-Tribune. “Even if it’s perception, it’s got to be fixed.”
