Most people call them peacocks, but that’s only the correct name for male of this type of bird. Females are called peahens, and the whole group are peafowl. There are three types of peafowl in the world: Indian, green, and Congo. Most people are familiar with the Indian peafowl, since that is the kind found in many zoos and parks. Indian peafowl live in India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, green peafowl are found in Southeast Asia, and Congo peafowl are from central Africa.
The Indian peacock has some of the brightest feathers, but the peahen is a drab, mottled brown in comparison. The male needs his bright feathers to attract a mate, and the female needs to be able to blend in with the bushes so that predators cannot see her while she is incubating her eggs. A group of peafowl is called a “party” or a “pride”! The Indian peafowl is the national bird of India and is protected in that country. This is a picture of a male. Who would have thought there were so many colors of these birds. -

@amber_d_momof3 shares: “Jonah and the Big Fish - Since we’re studying Jonah in our Imitate Their Faith book, we thought it would be fun to reenact it. After we made the big fish, we gathered "in” the fish, watched a Littlest Pet Shop video that the younger 2 had recorded, read the story in My Book of Bible Stories, and then discussed Jonah’s journey into and out of the fish. We had a lot of fun!“

So here’s my question for you all – is a tarantula still scary if it’s this beautiful? I really don’t know. This purple tarantula has me very confused! This is the Brazilian Pinkbloom Tarantula (Pamphobeteus platyomma/Vitalius wacketi* ) which grows to a length of 9 cm (but specimens of 11 cm have been recorded). Females are dark brown/black but mature males have this incredible purple/pink hue that makes them highly prized in the arachnid aficionado community. However, word on the internetz is that they aren’t the most friendly of spiders. They’ll bite without provocation and flick their hairs at you, which can cause skin irritation. I really don’t blame them for being aggressive. If someone wanted to keep me in a tiny cage just because I was pretty to look at I don’t think I’d be that happy either! -

I still can’t believe that I made it this far in life. I still can’t believe that Jehovah God is actually giving me a chance to serve him. Even though my whole family was around the truth, I lost my way. Without getting into details, I did most things Jehovah hates. I look back and think how was it possible that I made these changes. I could see that for Jehovah, nothing is impossible. After 10 years of trying to return to him, I finally got baptized on April 17th, 2016. Proverbs 22:6 “Train A boy in the way he should go; Even when he grows old he will not depart from it”. Photo shared by @r_i_c_k_yyyy
