    BETTER  A  THEOCRATIC  LITERATUR !
    HIDDEN FACE OF HALLOWEEN......
Since this holiday is about it is good to remember why not celebrate true Christians and what is its origin.
Does Halloween is celebrated in your country? It is true that this party is known especially in the United States and Canada, where it is celebrated on October 31. However, the customs of Halloween can be found in similar festivals in other parts of the world. They may have another name, but basically deal with the same subject: the world of spirits, the dead, fairies, witches, even the devil and demons.
    WHERE HE CAME FROM?
The origin of some customs and symbols of Halloween
Vampires, Werewolves WITCHES AND ZOMBIES: These creatures have always been associated with evil spirits.
SWEETS: The ancient Celts sought to appease evil spirits with sweets. Later, the Church encouraged people to go from house to house on the eve of All Saints and asking for food in return for a prayer for the dead. Hence the habit of asking for candy on Halloween.
COSTUMES: The ancient Celts used hideous masks so that evil spirits believed that they were also spirits and left alone. Gradually, the Church mixed pagan customs with the celebration of the Dead and Day of All Saints. Later, people started going from house to house dressed as saints, angels and demons.
PUMPKINS: Formerly turnips were hollowed and placed a candle to frighten evil spirits. There were those who believed that the candle represented a soul trapped in purgatory. Over time, turnips were replaced by pumpkins.
Halloween party is a celebration unbiblical. The Bible itself warns us: "No one among you who practices divination, witchcraft or sorcery; or casts spells, or spiritualist medium who consults the dead "(Deuteronomy 18:10, 11, Leviticus 19:31; Galatians 5: 19-21).

The Librarian got a reaction from Evacuated in Koala sleepingKoalas also have special adaptations that enable...
Koala sleepingKoalas also have special adaptations that enable them to feast on eucalyptus leaves. Very fussy eaters, they use their excellent sense of smell to select the best tasting leaves. Although there are 600 types of eucalyptus trees, koalas generally limit their diet to two or three favorite kinds. In addition, eucalyptus leaves are highly fibrous and poisonous to other animals. But koalas have bacteria in their stomachs that break down the fiber and toxic oils and allow them to absorb 25% of the nutrients. In order to survive on such a low calorie diet, they conserve energy by moving slowly and sleeping around 20 hours a day.
Koalas inhabit the forests of eastern Australia, but there are a few differences between northern and southern subspecies. They range in length from 60-85 cm (2-3 ft.), but northern koalas are on the smaller side, weighing 4-8.5 kg (9-19 lb.), while southern koalas weigh 7-13 kg (15-29 lb.). Southern koalas also have thicker fur to keep them warm in the colder winters.
Koalas are territorial animals who live separately in their own home ranges. A home range consists of suitable trees that provide food and shelter and overlaps slightly with other koalas’ home ranges. Koalas define their territories by making scratch marks on trees; males also secrete a sticky brown substance from a scent gland in their chests that they rub on the bark. From August to February, koalas meet in the overlapping areas to mate a koala’s pregnancy lasts 35 days. When the joey is born, it is only 2 cm (less than an inch) long. It is hairless, blind, and has undeveloped ears. But the newborn does have very strong forelimbs and an instinct to climb from the birth canal into the mother’s pouch. There the baby finds a nipple, which swells in its mouth keeping the joey in place.
KoalaAfter the joey spends 6 months in the pouch developing, the mother koala will produce a special substance called pap. Pap is a soft, alternate form of fecal matter that consists of the bacteria necessary to digest eucalyptus. In order for the joey to start eating leaves, it will need the bacteria in its intestines. So the joey feeds on pap in addition to milk for several weeks

The Librarian reacted to SciTechPress in The one sentence your LinkedIn profile must have
Once upon a time, someone wiser than I am told me a marketing truth I never forgot: A confused prospect never buys.
In sales and marketing, clarity is king.
This is especially true in the 21st century, when our ultra-connected, always on, stream-of-consciousness lives as we scroll through one social media profile and update after another gives marketers precious few seconds to grab our attention.
Is Your LinkedIn Summary Scaring Prospects Away?
Today, I want to focus on the first sentence of your LinkedIn Summary.
The way LinkedIn lays out a profile page, your Summary area is the first text area visitors come across after seeing your headshot and professional title.
Needless to say, the first sentence of your LinkedIn Summary is critical.
Let me ask: What do you have in there right now? Don't lie! Are you talking about yourself in the third person, like a professional athlete? Are you telling us where you work and what your job title or duties are?
    If you are, it's okay.
    Blame it on LinkedIn!
You're far from alone. In fact, LinkedIn has trained us to think that way — to treat our profile page like a virtual résumé, listing our employers, job titles, duties, and so on.
If you're trying to use LinkedIn to generate business for yourself, however, that approach is a huge mistake.
Here's why: Your clients don't care about you.
I hate to burst your bubble, but your clients do not care what your job title is, where you attended college, what awards you've won or anything else. What they do care about is quite simple.
“Your clients care about themselves – morning, noon, and after supper!”
Dale Carnegie penned those words all the way back in 1936, but they ring just as true in 2016, don't they?
The Secret to a Successful LinkedIn Summary
Which leads us to the all-important first sentence of your LinkedIn Summary.
Take the template I'm going to share below and copy it, filling in the blanks to personalize it for you and your business.
    Here it is:
WHAT I DO: I help [MY TARGET AUDIENCE] achieve [THEIR GOAL] by providing [MY PRODUCT/SERVICE].
See how simple and clear that is?
Using that approach, the first sentence of your LinkedIn Summary instantly identifies your target audience, tells that audience how you help them achieve their goals or solve their problems, and it explains how you do it (the service or product you provide).
    It's that simple.
Make sure you watch this video to see how some of my LinkedIn Riches students have applied the formula above to their profiles.
You’ll see how they’re able to take the template I shared above and simply fill in the blanks in a way that helps them appeal to their target audiences in a fast, efficient and clear manner.
Go watch the video, and then give it a shot yourself!

The Librarian got a reaction from Carol Ann Torres in JW.org Uniform for Women
I've noticed a few photos recently of JW women all donning some sort of uniform similar to how airline stewardesses (I should say flight attendants) are typically dressed.
She looks fine above according to today's dress standard. I would call this a modern business look. However would it be wrong for her to wear pants below?
The suit jacket she is wearing (obviously made for a woman) would have been denounced as a woman dressing in men's clothes years ago.
    Have our standards changed?
This brings up many questions about fashion standards and whether all JW's should sport an official uniform or not?
Would Jesus have wanted his apostles to be dressed in a uniform?
Some might think I am being too picky talking about such issues. However I was raised with very strict JW dress guidelines so I am used to always questioning the appropriateness of apparel.
    Just some quick thoughts...

The Librarian reacted to SuzA in London, England JW Convention - Fashion Show
I can understand - and enjoy seeing - delegates wearing their national dress at conventions when that attire is still typical in their country, eg Africa, India.  What I have found weird is the donning of antiquated folk costumes such as lederhosen and that shown above, especially if it's not even an international assembly.  The westerners aren't turning up in pre WWI fashions.
A few years ago at a District Assembly I was bemused to see a sister from my own congregation in Australia dressed in a sari when she doesn't have a drop of Indian blood in her.
Since when have our conventions become a costume party?
So, yes, I'm with you Librarian.

So ... whatever happened to "Quit being fashioned after this world"?
I am noticing this dress up fashion runway spirit taking off worldwide.
Whatever happened to dignified modesty in walking with our God?
    - Just me venting.... I feel we have lost something with all of this new "openness"
They should spend more of their actually READING the bible and less time on outfits and video candy.

The Librarian got a reaction from tromboneck in Is it Dangerous to Call a Fellow Christian an "Apostate"
In light of Gehenna being the result of simply calling someone a "despicable fool" wouldn't it be dangerous to ones eternal life to call another person an "apostate"?
Should only men be allowed to do so in the congregation?
Or should any woman anywhere be allowed to call anybody an "apostate" without incurring the wrath of Jesus / Jehovah?
What sort of limitations are there on rebuking another person?
Jesus himself refrained from rebuking the Devil. Should Christians follow His example?
