THE temperature had already started to climb that Friday morning in September 1922 as 8,000 people crowded into the auditorium. The chair- man announced that during this important ses- sion, anyone was free to leave, but no one would be allowed to reenter the hall.
Songs were sung during the opening “Praise Service,” after which Joseph F. Rutherford stepped up to the speaker’s stand. Most in the audience sat in suspense. A few restlessly paced about in the heat. The speaker earnestly urged them to sit down and listen. As the talk began, did anyone notice the large cloth roll neatly tied and hung high overhead?
Brother Rutherford spoke on the theme “The kingdom of heaven is at hand.” For about an hour and a half, his powerful voice reverberated through the hall as he discussed how the proph- ets of old had fearlessly announced the coming Kingdom. Reaching the climax, he asked, “Do you believe that the King of glory has begun his reign?” The audience responded with a mighty shout: “Yes!”
“Then back to the field, O ye sons of the most high God!” Brother Rutherford thundered. “Be- hold, the King reigns! You are his publicity agents. Therefore, advertise, advertise, adver- tise.”
At that moment, the cloth roll overhead grace- fully unfurled, revealing the slogan: “Advertise the King and Kingdom.”
“The audience was electrified,” recalled Ray Bopp. Anna Gardner described how “the rafters shook with the applause.” “The whole audience rose to its feet as one,” stated Fred Twarosh.
Evangelos Scouffas said, “It was as if a mighty power pulled us up from our seats, and we stood up and our eyes filled with tears.”
Many at that convention had already been spreading the Kingdom good news. Yet, they now felt infused with a new sense of purpose. Ethel Bennecoff related that the Bible Students went forth “with more zeal and love in [their] hearts than ever before.” Odessa Tuck, who at the time was 18, left the convention determined to answer the call “Who will go?” She said: “I did not know where or how or what. The one thing I did know was that I wanted to be like Isaiah, who said: ‘Here I am! Send me!’” (Isa. 6:8) “That celebrat- ed day,” said Ralph Leffler, “was the real begin- ning of the Kingdom advertising campaign that today has encircled the earth.”
Building a pyramid, or an atomic bomb is VERY simple, if you find acceptable a VERY high people casualty rate handling the materials, and have an unlimited supply of unpaid labor, etc.
If the pyramid project were mine, and I could afford to waste a hundred thousand human lives, the project would finish early and under budget.
In Germany, the V-2 Rocket Program in Mittelwerk, near Nordhausen Germany killed MORE slave laborers building the rockets than were killed at the receiving end in England where the rockets landed.
Approximately 25,000 people died MAKING the rockets, and 10,000 or so people died as targets of the rockets. About six workers died for EVERY rocket produced.

Displaying Good Manners as Ministers of God
“Become imitators of God.”—EPH. 5:1.
?????
CONCERNING respectful conduct, author Sue Fox writes: “ThereÂ’s no such thing as a vacation from good manners. Politeness works everywhere, all the time.” When people make a habit of being courteous, problems with others are minimized and often disappear. But the opposite is also true. Treating others in an ill-mannered fashion leads to conflict, resentment, and sadness. Good manners generally flourish in the true Christian congregation.Â
?????
Still, we must guard against adopting the bad manners that are common in the world today. In the fast-paced life that is common in many places today, two people often pass each other without saying “hello” or “how are you?”Â
?????
Of course, no one is expected to speak to everyone passing by on a crowded sidewalk. In many other situations, however, it is appropriate and desirable to greet others. Is it your custom to greet people? Or do you often walk by without a smile or a pleasant word? With no bad intention, a person could develop a habit that is in reality ill-mannered.Â
?????
Godly parents in Bible times made sure that their children learned basic points of courtesy in the home. Consider the polite way in which Abraham and his son Isaac addressed each other at Genesis 22:7. The good training from his parents was evident also in the case of Joseph. When imprisoned, he was courteous even to his fellow prisoners. (Gen. 40:8, 14) His words to Pharaoh show that he had learned the proper way to address a person of high office. Â
?????
The value of training our children to be well-mannered cannot be overestimated. To get along well as adults, young ones need to learn the proper way to greet visitors, to answer the telephone, and to eat a meal with others. They should be helped to understand why they ought to hold doors for people, show kindness to the elderly and sick, and offer to help those carrying heavy packages. They need to understand the importance of sincerely saying “please,” “thank you,” “you are welcome,” “may I help you?,” and “I am sorry.”Â
?????
In the last days of his evil rule, Satan is bent on wiping out the standards of respectful conduct that Jehovah has established. But the Devil will fail to eradicate the good manners of true Christians. May each of us be determined to follow the examples of our gracious God and his Son.Â
?????
Then our speech and conduct will always be in contrast with the actions of those who choose to be ill-mannered. We will bring praise to the name of our well-mannered God, Jehovah, and will attract sincere people to his true worship.Â
Lesson for today. (Titus 2:7, 8)

They say Prince was a 'spiritual man' who very strongly believed in the church's message
However they do not keep his photo inside so as not to glorify an individual
A couple in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, opened their door in 2003 to find Prince standing on their doorstep with a Bible
The 81-year-old said of the deceased singer: ‘Prince was a publisher with good standing here in our congregation. He was active, he shared in the ministry every month.
‘We didn’t see him very often because he was away all the time, but he did attend the memorial of Christ’s death on March 23 here, he brought some of his band members with him.
‘He was a spiritual man from what I know of him and he talked to individuals and he very strongly believed in the message of the bible that Jehovah Witness’s proclaim.
‘He believed that the true God is Jehovah and he knew for example that when we die, we’re dead, we’re sleeping and the hope is the resurrection, that’s why Jesus died.’
Elder Cook said Prince regularly ‘witnessed’ alone in the community, as well as in groups.
And he admitted that people might have been shocked to see the superstar turn up on their doorstep to talk to them and offer a free bible course, but added: ‘We try to downplay the person, it’s all about the message.
‘We try not to eulogize any individual from a personal standpoint, one person is equal in the eyes of God as another person.
‘So our main goal is to proclaim the message of God’s kingdom as equals and Prince did what he could from what I understand.
‘He did what he could to help people to get into the Bible and appreciate the benefits of family life and the hope of God’s kingdom.’
He added: ‘Credibility and honesty in conveying the message is vital.’
Elder Cook described Prince as ‘modest’ and ‘very, very humble’ when he came to the church.
‘Obviously he was able to witness when he was on his travels as well, he was devoted to it like we all are,’ he said.
‘He found fulfillment as a Witness and in sharing his faith with others.’
The elder says he last saw Prince when the star attended a 50-minute ceremony to commemorate the death of Jesus on March 23 – an event celebrated by Jehovah’s Witnesses all over the world.
The church has no photos of their most famous ‘publisher’ on the walls as you might expect, because ‘that would be glorifying an individual’.
‘Glory goes to Jehovah God, almighty God and his son Jesus Christ,’ said elder Cook.
Elder Cook also said the church does not have a problem with Prince’s reported addiction to prescription drugs because ‘that’s a personal matter’.
‘We are in to homeopathy and things like that, because nothing is 100 per cent.'
They will of course refuse to have the DNA tested. There is a new way whereby DNA can be obtained.... but most paleontologists refuse because then the true age of the specimen can be determined. It does not suit the agenda...

One of the things that sparked dialog is getting emails when someone posted, so a person could reply .... I don't think the new system ( no pun intended) does this. It's a good idea, but it would be easier to just allow for hijacking a thread ... which in my opinion stimulates discussion of ALL types. A freeform brawl of a discussion seems to me the best way to get NEW Truths, out of old ideas.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. I have kidnapped @The Librarian If you ever want to see her again, (and I know I am taking a risk in saying this) you are going to have to dig down into your pockets and pony up. I figure if each reader pays $1000, that should be enough to secure her release.
There will be no special rates for those in full time service. I'm playing hardball.

Because Bidets are too expensive, to buy, install and maintain. A better solution is the Hand Bidet Sprayer. Costs a fraction, requires no new plumbing and actually does a better job cleaning you because it has a stronger water flow and more control over where it sprays. See www.bathroomsprayer.com.Â

Let's have everyone start to use the threaded discussion area below for their tit for tat petty accusations rather than make posts on the thread....
At least those will be threaded and won't hijack a post thematically.
Could we all learn to post the most substantive "stuff" here as posts and regular comments and side arguments in the threaded comments area?
Thanking everyone in advance.
