NORTH KENSINGTON, London – Not less than four members of Jehovah’s Witnesses survived the inferno that ravaged the 24 storey Grenfel Tower, London killing at least 79 people.

None of the witnesses died in the inferno, which has led to revolution and evacuation of about 25 other blocks that have failed fire resistant test in London.

Jehovah’s Witnesses are assisting victims of a catastrophic fire that engulfed the Grenfell Tower, a 24-story apartment building in the North Kensington area of London, in the early morning hours of June 14, 2017. Authorities are reporting that at least 79 people were killed.
Four Witnesses were evacuated from the apartment building, two of which were residents of Grenfell Tower. Fortunately, none of them were injured, although the Witnesses’ apartments were among those completely destroyed in the blaze.

I think that most people see a collection of eight photos/articles at the bottom of the screen. (I mean the "Powered by Google" grid of articles and/or ads to click on.) We probably don't all see the same selection of 8 items, but in my case it is always heavily slanted to the fake news about JWs, or JW celebrity news, or both (Trump warns Russia over JWs, Jackie Chan is one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and this current one, etc.)
It is the one topic I am least interested in, rarely click on, and it always embarrasses me that these types of articles are readily believed by Witnesses, and sometimes even SOURCED by Witnesses.
I understand that there is a certain use to keep such rumors "up" to drive traffic, but is it only gullible traffic that is desired? I have found some of these fake topics to be easily proven untrue in a matter of seconds, but sometimes these things stay up, even after I have shown the poster the proof. (The last one was to @Bible Speaks and there was not even a response.) I've seen this happen with other people also, just as it happened in this thread.
I prefer to not have such articles demeaning the site, but I know that it's at least possible to change the title of this topic, even slightly, to indicate that we all know better. I'm surprised it wasn't changed months ago, or within a couple hours of the initial post.

Hachiko, was an Akita dog that belonged to a professor at the University of Tokyo. Every day he would meet his master at Shibuya Station until one day in 1925 when the professor never returned. Unbeknownst to Hachiko, his master had suffered a fatal brain hemorrhage and would never come home again. But there Hachiko sat, day after day, waiting in vain for the return of his beloved master. The story of the dog that never gave up gained a lot of attention from local and national news, inspiring many people to visit Hachiko at Shibuya Station to offer treats. The story eventually spread throughout the world and a Hollywood film starring Richard Gere was even made based on Hachiko’s story.
The photo above was taken on March 8, 1935 and is the last known image taken of Hachiko, who was found dead on a street in Shibuya. His owner’s wife and station staff sit around his body, mourning the loss of the faithful companion.
 
Years later, a statue was erected in Hachiko’s honor and a replica of the original still stands near Shibuya Station. Although today it is used as a popular meeting spot for young adults going out with friends, Hachiko’s statue remains a symbol of this dog’s extreme loyalty and a reminder of the lengths one can go to stay devoted to a friend. Hachiko managed to inspire people around the world and just as his final image portrays, he was loved dearly.

El 26 de abril, Thomas Zurbuchen, un científico renombrado de la agencia espacial estadounidense, había sacudido por su declaración en torno a la posibilidad de la detección de aliens: "Teniendo en cuenta las diferentes actividades y misiones que buscan específicamente pruebas de vida extraterrestre, estamos a punto de hacer uno de los descubrimientos más profundos y sin precedentes en la historia", había dicho en medio de la audiencia del Comité para la Ciencia, Espacio y Tecnología de EE.UU.En su conferencia, Zurbuchen enumeró los motivos que lo hace considerar estar "más cerca que nunca" de localizar vida fuera de la Tierra: por un lado, el reciente hallazgo de hidrógeno en Encelado, la luna de Saturno. Por otro, los auspiciosos resultados logrados con el Telescopio Espacial Hubble en los océanos de metano de una luna en Júpiter. Por si fuera poco, la misión en Marte indicó evidencias de que el Planeta Rojo presentó en el pasado los elementos necesarios para albergar vida.
A esa declaración rutilante se le sumó en los últimos días el anuncio de Kepler. La misión descubrió 10 nuevos exoplanetas que se cree podrían ser habitables después de analizar otros 219 candidatos.
Basado en ambas fuentes y otros documentos en manos de la NASA, Anonymous se atrevió a asegurar: "Es muy probable que muchos otros planetas en todo el universo albergaran vida inteligente mucho antes que la Tierra".

Desde hace tiempo, distintos canales de investigaciones apuntan a una misma meta: prolongar la existencia. La fórmula que alargue el período de vida es la obsesión de muchos especialistas de la comunidad científica, que dedican horas y horas a la investigación del tema.
Una de las más recientes estuvo a cargo de un grupo de biólogos de la Escuela de Medicina de Baylor (Texas, EEUU), en conjunto con sus pares de la Universidad de Texas, cuyos resultados son promisorios, ya que aseguran haber encontrado un método basado en las propiedades de bacterias estomacales que podría contribuir a prolongar la vida de los humanos.
Los expertos descubrieron unas mutaciones genéticas de bacterias que frenaban el crecimiento de tumores e impedían el aumento de la cantidad de moléculas beta-amiloides, relacionadas con el desarrollo de la enfermedad de Alzheimer. El estudio, publicado en la revista Cell, consistió en experimentar con los populares gusanos redondos (el tipo de los denominados nemátodos) a los que inocularon bacterias Escherichia coli, a partir de lo cual se observaron las variaciones de su longevidad.
De las 3.983 mutaciones genéticas de microbios que registraron, 29 estaban directamente relacionadas con la longevidad de los gusanos. La eliminación de estos genes permitió aumentar la vida de los nemátodos. También se indentificaron otras 12 mutaciones que protegían el cuerpo del los gusanos contra el crecimiento de tumores y la acumulación de beta-amiloide."La comunidad científica es cada vez más consciente de que las interacciones de nuestro cuerpo con los millones de microbios en nuestro cuerpo, el microbioma, pueden influir en muchas de nuestras funciones, como las actividades cognitivas y metabólicas y el envejecimiento", señaló la autora Meng Wang. "En este trabajo, investigamos si la composición genética del microbioma también podría ser importante para la longevidad", agregó.
La conclusión es que la estabilidad microbiana en el estómago es un factor crucial para la salud y la longevidad de un organismo. Creen que el trabajo invoca a la necesidad de desarrollar la producción de probióticos genéticamente modificados para frenar los procesos del envejecimiento.
"Nuestro hallazgo sugiere que los productos de las bacterias hoy en día todavía pueden meterse en la comunicación entre las mitocondrias en nuestras células. Creemos que este tipo de comunicación es muy importante y aquí hemos proporcionado la primera evidencia de ello. Comprender plenamente la comunicación microbio-mitocondria puede ayudarnos a entender a un nivel más profundo las interacciones entre los microbios y sus huéspedes", explicó Meng Wang.

2. Harina y agua, fundamental para la masa
Son los ingredientes madre de la masa y de ellos dependerá lo que siga. A más fuerza, mayor fermentación, traducida en reducción de hidratos de carbono en el producto final. Para Marquina, la clave es "utilizar una harina de fuerza y dejar reposar al menos 24 horas".
  La pizza es un plato relacionado directamente con el encuentro y la reunión Otro punto a tener en cuenta es la dureza del agua utilizada en la masa. "Si el agua no tiene sales minerales, saldrá blanda y pegajosa; si tiene exceso, será difícil de estirar", explicó el chef.
3. Estirado de la masa
Al amasar a mano es vital tener en consideración que el tiempo perfecto oscila entre los 15 y los 18 minutos. En caso de contar con una máquina, evitar que la velocidad sea alta, debido a que la masa puede deshidratarse. Siempre trabajar sobre una superficie harinada.
En caso de romperse, será mejor hacer un pliegue o un parche antes que volver a estirarla. De lo contrario, perderá –justamente– elasticidad y habrá que esperar un par de horas para lograr el mismo resultado.
4. Temperatura del horno
El horno, siempre al máximo. Puede resultar llamativo, pero es una de las claves para que la masa quede crujiente y se cocine en su punto óptimo. Un horno tradicional, que alcanza una cocción de unos 290 grados, es suficiente. Según Marquina, "la pizza debe estar siete minutos en una posición media y un minuto más en la base del horno, para que quede crujiente". Si hay ingredientes que tienden a una cocción rápida, se añadirán a mitad del horneado o en el último minuto.

Es uno de los secretos más desconocidos y efectivos. A la hora de introducir la pizza en el horno, un pequeño tarro de cerámica con agua a su lado evitará que la masa pierda su elasticidad durante la cocción. Otro truco, en especial si se trabaja en horno abierto, es pulverizar agua en mitad del horneado para hidratar el producto.

Susan and I and my Sister's family are planning to go to Cross Hill, South Carolina, arriving in the early morning of Monday, August 21st, 2017.  This is the exact center of the path of the total eclipse that is impossible not to be able to find. 
We have already bought solar viewing glasses,  ( about $3.00 each), and I am going to buy a solar filter for my camera. We are taking a lunch and supper, as everywhere in a 70 mile wide path of the eclipse will be PACKED with people from all over America to see it.
 
 

Since the Society does NOT recognize Civil Divorces if there is no adultery, and considers a couple to STILL BE MARRIED ... if a man and wife get divorced civilly ONLY ( perhaps for some economic reason, like bankruptcy, or estate management .... or they cannot stand each other more than a few hours a week .. (health reasons (?)) ... and they still shack up (friends, with benefits..) does the Society sanction these ones in any way?
