Carol Ann Torres reacted to Bible Speaks in "Can you discover the deep things of God? Or discover everything about the Almighty?"
"Can you discover the deep things of God? Or discover everything about the Almighty? It is higher than heaven. What can you accomplish?"
    (Job 11:7,8)
Job 38 Then Jehovah answered Job out of the windstorm:
2 “Who is this who is obscuring my counsel And speaking without knowledge?
3 "Brace yourself, please, like a man; I will question you, and you inform me.
4 Where were you when I founded the earth? Tell me, if you think you understand.
5 "Who set its measurements, in case you know, Or who stretched a measuring line across it?
6 "Into what were its pedestals sunk,BOr who laid its cornerstone,
7 "When the morning stars joyfully cried out together, And all the sons of God began shouting in applause?
8 "And who barricaded the sea behind doors When it burst out from the womb,
9 "When I clothed it with clouds And wrapped it in thick gloom,
10 "When I established my limit for it And put its bars and doors in place,
11 "And I said, ‘You may come this far, and no farther; Here is where your proud waves will stop’?
12 "Have you ever commanded the morning Or made the dawn know its place,
13 "To take hold of the ends of the earth And to shake the wicked out of it?
14 It is transformed like clay under a seal,BAnd its features stand out like those of a garment.
15 "But the light of the wicked is held back from them,And their uplifted arm is broken.
16 "Have you gone down to the sources of the sea Or explored the deep waters?
17 "Have the gates of death been revealed to you, Or have you seen the gates of deep darkness?
18 "Have you understood the vast expanse of the earth? Tell me, if you know all of this.
19 "In which direction does the light reside? And where is the place of darkness,
20 "That you should take it to its territory And understand the paths to its home?
21 "Do you know this because you were already born And the number of your years  is great?
22 "Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, Or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,
23 "Which I have reserved for the time of distress, For the day of battle and war?
24 "From what direction is light dispersed, And from where does the east wind blow on the earth?
25 "Who has cut a channel for the flood And made a path for the thunderous storm cloud,
26 "To make it rain where no man lives, On the wilderness where there are no humans,
27 "To satisfy devastated wastelands And cause the grass to sprout?
28 "Does the rain have a father, Or who fathered the dewdrops?
29 "From whose womb did the ice emerge, And who gave birth to the frost of heaven
30 "When the waters are covered as if with stone, And the surface of the deep waters is frozen solid?
31 "Can you tie the ropes of the Kiʹmah constellation Or untie the cords of the Keʹsil constellation?
32 "Can you lead out a constellation in its season, Or guide the Ash constellation along with its sons?
33 "Do you know the laws governing the heavens, Or can you impose their authority on the earth?
34 "Can you raise your voice to the clouds To cause a flood of water to cover you?
35 "Can you send out lightning bolts? Will they come and say to you, ‘Here we are!’
36 "Who put wisdom within the clouds Or gave understanding to the sky phenomenon?
37 "Who is wise enough to count the clouds, Or who can tip over the water jars of heaven?
38 "When the dust pours into a mass And the clods of earth stick together?
39 "Can you hunt prey for a lion Or satisfy the appetites of young lions
40 "When they crouch in their lairs Or lie in ambush in their dens?
41 "Who prepares food for the raven When its young cry to God for help And wander about because there is nothing to eat?"

Carol Ann Torres reacted to Bible Speaks in "YOU ARE MY WITNESSES...THAT I HAVE CHOSEN."
10 “You are my witnesses,” declares Jehovah, “Yes, my servant whom I have chosen, So that you may know and have faith in me And understand that I am the same One. Before me no God was formed, And after me there has been none."11 "I—I am Jehovah, and besides me there is no savior.” (Isaiah43:10,11)
    Honor Jehovah’s Great Name
“I will glorify your name to time indefinite.”—PS. 86:12.
BY AND LARGE, Christendom’s churches have distanced themselves from God’s name. For example, the Revised Standard Version states in its preface: “The use of any proper name for the one and only God . . . is entirely inappropriate for the universal faith of the Christian Church.”
Jehovah’s Witnesses, on the other hand, are proud to bear God’s name and to glorify it.
To know God’s name involves much more than merely being acquainted with the word “Jehovah.” It includes knowing Jehovah’s reputation, as well as his qualities, purpose, and activities as revealed in the Bible, such as his dealings with his servants.
Of course, Jehovah grants this insight progressively, according to the outworking of his purpose. (Prov. 4:18)
Jehovah revealed his name to the first human pair; thus, Eve used it after giving birth to Cain. (Gen. 4:1)
The faithful patriarchs Noah, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob knew God’s name. Moreover, their appreciation for it grew as Jehovah blessed them, cared for them, and revealed aspects of his purpose to them. Moses was granted special insight into God’s name.
Likewise today, Jehovah is ‘proving to be.’ By means of his Son, he foretold that during the last days, the Kingdom message would be preached “in all the inhabited earth.” (Matt. 24:14)
Who else but God Almighty could foretell such a work, see that it is done, and use many “unlettered and ordinary” people to accomplish it? (Acts 4:13)
Hence, when we share in this work, we actually share in the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. We honor our Father and show that we really mean it when we pray: “Let your name be sanctified. Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth.”—Matt. 6:9, 10.

Carol Ann Torres reacted to Bible Speaks in Act in Harmony With Jesus’ Loving Prayer
Act in Harmony With Jesus’ Loving Prayer
“Father, . . . glorify your son, that your son may glorify you.”—JOHN 17:1.
Jesus talks late into the night, imparting to his disciples precious knowledge from God. Then he raises his eyes to heaven and prays: “Father, the hour has come; glorify your son, that your son may glorify you, according as you have given him authority over all flesh, that, as regards the whole number whom you have given him, he may give them everlasting life. . . . I have glorified you on the earth, having finished the work you have given me to do. So now you, Father, glorify me alongside yourself with the glory that I had alongside you before the world was.”—John 17:1-5.
While on earth, Jesus worked hard to help his disciples to overcome their weaknesses. This was essential for them to complete the work that Jesus had started. “Just as you sent me forth into the world,” prays Jesus, “I also sent them forth into the world.” For them to succeed in this lifesaving work, Jesus emphasizes three vital needs.
First, he prays that his disciples be no part of Satan’s unholy world.
Second, he prays that they may be sanctified, or kept holy, by applying to themselves the truth of God’s Word.
Third, Jesus repeatedly begs that his disciples may be united in the same bond of love that exists between him and his Father.
This calls for self-examination. Each of us should ask, ‘Am I acting in harmony with Jesus’ three requests?’ By giving attention to these things, Jesus expresses optimism “that the world may believe that you sent me forth.”—Read John 17:15-21.
Under the influence of their religious leaders, the majority of people in the world choose to ignore the clear evidence that Jehovah has a united people who truly know him.
The same was true respecting Jesus’ day. So he concludes with these endearing words: “Righteous Father, the world has, indeed, not come to know you; but I have come to know you, and these have come to know that you sent me forth. And I have made your name known to them and will make it known, in order that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in union with them.”—John 17:25, 26.
Who can deny that Jesus has acted in harmony with his prayer? As Head of the congregation, he continues to help us make known his Father’s name and purpose. May we keep on submitting to his headship by zealously obeying his command to preach and make disciples. (Matt. 28:19, 20; Acts 10:42)
May we also work hard at preserving our precious unity. By doing these things, we will be acting in harmony with Jesus’ prayer, to the glory of Jehovah’s name and to our eternal happiness.

Carol Ann Torres reacted to Bible Speaks in The Ransom—God’s Greatest Gift A Free Gift ?
    The Ransom—God’s Greatest Gift
HOW YOU CAN BENEFIT FROM THE RANSOM
We already benefit from God’s greatest gift. Let us see how we benefit now and how we will benefit in the future.
Our sins are forgiven. It is hard to do what is right all the time. We make mistakes, and we sometimes say and do the wrong thing. (Colossians 1:13, 14) How can we be forgiven? We should be truly sorry for what we have done wrong and humbly ask Jehovah to forgive us. We can then have the confidence that our sins are forgiven.—1 John 1:8, 9.
We can have a good conscience. If our conscience tells us that we have done something wrong, we feel guilty, maybe even hopeless and worthless. But there is no need to give up. If we beg Jehovah for forgiveness, we can be sure that he will listen to us and forgive us. (Hebrews 9:13, 14) Jehovah wants us to talk to him about any of our problems and weaknesses. (Hebrews 4:14-16) As a result, we can be at peace with God.
We have the hope of living forever. “The wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23) Because Jesus died for us, we can live forever and enjoy perfect health. (Revelation 21:3, 4) But what must we do to receive those blessings?
Now that you’ve learned about God’s great love, how can you become his friend? It is not easy to love someone you don’t know. John 17:3 says that we can come to know Jehovah. As you do this, your love for him will deepen, you will want to please him, and you will become his friend. So keep learning about Jehovah by studying the Bible.—1 John 5:3.
Accept Jesus’ ransom sacrifice. The Bible says that “the one who exercises faith in the Son has everlasting life.” (John 3:36) What does it mean to exercise faith? It means to do what Jesus taught us to do. (John 13:15) We cannot simply say that we believe in Jesus. To accept the ransom, we must do something about our faith. At James 2:26, we read: “Faith without works is dead.”
Jehovah gave his precious Son as a ransom for us.
    WILL YOU ACCEPT THE RANSOM?
Think of how your heart is touched when someone gives you a beautiful gift. The ransom is the most precious gift of all, and we should be deeply grateful to Jehovah for it. John 3:16 tells us that “God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son.” Yes, Jehovah loves us so much that he gave us his precious Son, Jesus. And we know that Jesus also loves us, because he was willing to die for us. (John 15:13) The gift of the ransom should convince you that Jehovah and Jesus really love you.—Galatians 2:20.
As we learn about Jehovah, we will become his friend and our love for him will deepen.
Attend the Memorial of Christ’s death. The evening before Jesus died, he taught us that we should have a memorial of his death. We do this each year, and it is called the Memorial or “the Lord’s Evening Meal.” (1 Corinthians 11:20; Matthew 26:26-28) Jesus wants us to remember that he gave his perfect life as a ransom for us. He said: “Keep doing this in remembrance of me.” (Read Luke 22:19.) When you attend the Memorial, you show that you remember the ransom and the great love that Jehovah and Jesus have for us.
The ransom is the greatest gift we could ever receive. (2 Corinthians 9:14, 15) That precious gift will even benefit millions of people who have already died. Chapters 6 and 7 will discuss how that is possible.

Carol Ann Torres reacted to Queen Esther in Is the USA Preparing for World War III?
ARE THEY PREPARING FOR THE THIRD WORLD WAR?
The United States has just taken a unique step in the history of humanity by launching this afternoon the mother of all bombs on Afghanistan. It is not a nuclear bomb, but it is a step to show that you can survive a nuclear war.
For the first time in history, the United States has used the GBU-43 Massive Ordinance Air Blast (MOAB) bomb, a gigantic projectile weighing 10 tons, designed to destroy cave complexes and underground tunnels.
The United States had lost years of world influence, being surpassed by Russia and China militarily and economically. The biblical King of the South was no longer the empire of years ago. With the launch of this bomb this afternoon, with the Syrian bombing, with the presence of a military fleet off the coast of North Korea, the king of the South is claiming his authority, power and world influence again. A serious warning has been issued to the Russian power, recognized by the slave as the king of the north years ago, that he is willing to do whatever it takes to not lose the authority that Satan has given him.
Jehovah's Witnesses are the only Faith in this world, who does not believe in the future destruction of the planet. But we do not rule out the possibility of a Third World War, something that has never been seen since the days of the flood to this day.
To the question of if there can be a Third World War, the slave has answered on a single occasion: "we do not know" (he does not deny it)
However, we must be very careful about the announcements of fatalism: (Matthew 24: 4-6) And in reply Jesus said to them: "Be careful that no one misleads them; 5 For many will come upon my name, saying, "I am the Christ," and will mislead many. 6 You will hear of wars and reports of wars; See that they are not terrified. Because these things have to happen, but it is not yet the end
The world scene has changed dramatically. 1914 is already far away and now the Jehovah's Witnesses are preparing definitively for the end of a civilization and a change of system. Jesus did not retract his words about a human channel on earth: (Matthew 24: 45-47) "Who is truly the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his household, to give them his food At the appropriate time? 46 Happy is that slave if his master, when he arrives, finds him doing so! 47 Verily I say unto you, He shall appoint him over all his goods.
It has begun a countdown that only if we remain united with the authentic and discreet slave of Jehovah's Witnesses, will lead us to survive the great tribulation.

Carol Ann Torres reacted to Bible Speaks in Do Feel Alone? Do You Have a Loss? Trying to Cope Difficult? You Are Not Alone ?
    (2 Cor 1:3, 4)
ARE you presently facing a trial in your life? Do you feel at a loss, unable to cope with it? Do you even at times fear that your problem is unique and that there is no solution to it?
If so, take heart! Whatever trials we may face, the Bible assures us that God can enable us to deal with them. The Bible acknowledges that God’s servants will “meet with various trials.” (James 1:2)  Note the word “various” (Greek poi·kiʹlos). According to ancient usage, the original word means “manifold” or “many-tinted” and emphasizes “the diversity of the trials.” In fact, in everyday speech, that basically means “many-colored.”
Thus, “various trials” are trials that come in many colors, so to speak. Nevertheless, Jehovah supports us so that we can cope with each one of them.
According to Peter, one way that God’s undeserved kindness is expressed is through the various ones who make up the Christian congregation.
Each servant of God has spiritual gifts, or abilities, that may serve as a source of encouragement to those facing trials. For instance, some members of the congregation are outstanding Bible teachers. Their insightful words inspire and motivate others to endure.  Others make regular shepherding visits at the homEs of those I n need of support. Such visits are occasions for encouragement, a ‘comforting of hearts. When overseers make such faith-strengthening visits, they impart a spiritual gift. Still others in the congregation are known for warmth, compassion, and tenderness in dealing with fellow believers who are saddened by trials. The empathy and active assistance shown by such loving brothers and sisters is a significant expression, or “color,” of God’s undeserved kindness.
Yes, whatever is the “color,” or nature, of our trial, there will always be a “color,” or expression, of God’s undeserved kindness that will match it. (James 1:17)
Jehovah’s timely and appropriate support provided for his servants—no matter how diverse their temptations or challenges may be—is but one evidence of “the greatly diversified wisdom of God.”  Do you not agree? http://m.wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2005447?q=support+others&p=par#h=3.

Carol Ann Torres reacted to Bible Speaks in When Will The Great Tribulation Come?
"For then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again." (Matthew 24:21)
What happens after the great tribulation is cut short? Jesus explained that several events will happen before Armageddon begins. These events are mentioned at Ezekiel 38:14-16 andMatthew 24:29-31.
Then we will see Armageddon. The battle of Armageddon is the climax of the great tribulation, just as the destruction of Jerusalem was the climax of the first fulfillment of the prophecy. (Malachi 4:1)
The great tribulation, with Armageddon as its climax, will be an event such as has not happened “since the world’s beginning.” (Matthew 24:21) After it happens, Christ will rule as King for 1,000 years.
        SOME EXPRESSIONS EXPLAINED
Great tribulation: The end of this wicked world. First, false religion will be destroyed. Then, there will be a time when Jesus will judge the sheep and the goats and appoint his faithful slave over all the Master’s belongings. Finally, the rest of this system will be destroyed at Armageddon “Coming”: In Jesus’ prophecy in Matthew chapters 24 and 25, Jesus is described as “coming,” or “arriving.” This refers to the time when he comes as Judge of all the nations during the great tribulation http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/402013530?q=matt+24%3A21&p=par

Carol Ann Torres reacted to Bible Speaks in The Bible foretold that persecution of true Christians would reach a climax during the last days.
    Romania
The Bible foretold that persecution of true Christians would reach a climax during the last days. (Gen. 3:15; Rev. 12:13, 17) Romania is a land where that prophecy has seen striking fulfillment. Yet, as this account will show, Jehovah’s Witnesses in Romania have let nothing extinguish the flame of truth that burns brightly in the hearts of God’s people. (Jer. 20:9)
Rather, they have recommended themselves “as God’s ministers, by the endurance of much, by tribulations, by cases of need, by difficulties, by beatings, by prisons.” (2 Cor. 6:4, 5) May their record of integrity encourage all who desire to walk with God during these difficult times.
A Romanian named Emanoil Chinţa was arrested during World War I and sent to a military prison in Italy, far from home. There he met some Bible Students who had been imprisoned because they refused to take up arms. Emanoil took to heart their Scriptural message. When he was released in 1919, he returned home to Baia-Mare, in Maramureş County, and zealously preached the good news and contributed to the formation of yet another group of Bible Students.
Thanks to the zeal and self-sacrificing spirit of the early pioneers of the good news and of those who listened to their message, the number of disciples multiplied and small groups of Bible Students mushroomed in the land. In fact, by 1919—just eight years after Károly Szabó and József Kiss returned to Romania—over 1,700 Kingdom publishers and interested ones were organized into 150 Bible study classes, now called groups or congregations. Brother Kiss served as a pioneer in his homeland until his death at 86 years of age. Brother Szabó returned to the United States in 1924 to coordinate the work in the Hungarian field there.
Fired up by nationalism and egged on by the clergy, the political authorities had no sympathy for those who would not rally to the flag and kill for the country. Hence, when the first world war broke out, many brothers were arrested and sentenced. Some were even executed, including Ioan Rus, a newly married man from the village of Petreştii de Mijloc, south of Cluj-Napoca.
In response to the clergy’s barrage of complaints, the Ministry of Religions approved the use of “public force” to hinder both the preaching and the meetings of Jehovah’s people. Thus, the police became an arm of the churches, arresting brothers on the false charge that they were disturbing the peace. The law, however, was not clearly defined, so sentences varied. The brothers’ good conduct also presented a problem. “The Bible Students cannot be condemned,” said one judge, “because they are often the most peaceable of men.”
Nevertheless, persecution intensified, and at the end of 1926, The Watch Tower was banned. But that did not stop the flow of spiritual food—the brothers simply changed the name of the magazine! Starting with the January 1, 1927, issue, the Romanian-language edition became The Harvest, then later The Light of the Bible, and finally Daybreak. Its Hungarian counterpart was renamed Christian Pilgrim, then Gospel, and lastly The Magazine of Those Who Believe in Christ’s Blood.
Yes, despite the clergy’s hate campaign, many honesthearted individuals wanted to hear the good news. They included a town mayor who devoured several brochures and later declared that he eagerly awaited the new world. In another town, a man asked for a number of copies of the publications, promising to distribute them to all who were willing to read them.
What is more, persecution sometimes had an effect opposite to that intended. For example, all the Witnesses in one area decided as a group to make their separation from “Babylon the Great” a matter of public record. (Rev. 18:2, 4) For five consecutive days, these courageous brothers and sisters streamed into the local town hall to draw up documents of withdrawal from their former church.
Community leaders were shocked, and the local priest was horrified. First he ran to the police station for help, but that proved futile. So he rushed back to the town hall and accused the notary of being a Communist for helping the people with their documents. Offended, the notary retorted that if the whole community came to him, he would help them draw up certificates of withdrawal. Thus the priest was stopped in his tracks, and the brothers were able to complete their paperwork.
In another instance, an elderly brother gave a fine witness in a court of law. The judge held in his hand two books published by Jehovah’s Witnesses. Waving them in front of the brother, the judge accused him of distributing religious propaganda.
“If you sentence me because I proclaim the truth of God’s Word,” replied the brother, “I would view this, not as a punishment, but as a badge of honor. The Lord Jesus told his followers to rejoice when persecuted for righteousness’ sake because this is how the prophets of old were treated. In fact, Jesus himself was persecuted and even impaled, not for wrongdoing, but for speaking the truth that he had received from God.”
The brother continued: “So if this court sentences me for proclaiming Jesus’ message about the Kingdom by means of those two books, it would be sentencing a man who has committed no crime.” The judge dismissed the charges.

3 "Whenever it is that they are saying, “Peace and security!” then sudden destruction is to be instantly on them, just like birth pains on a pregnant woman, and they will by no means escape. 4 But you, brothers, you are not in darkness, so that the day should overtake you as it would thieves, 5 for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We belong neither to night nor to darkness." (1Thess 5:3-5)

Carol Ann Torres reacted to Bible Speaks in Girls Are They Any Jehovah's Witnesses Among You?
(Russia) After attending meetings of Jehovah's witnesses, my Ukrainian friends with whom I had been taken to Germany, began to hate me for associating with Germans. Once, one of them yelled at me and then hit me across the face. My former girlfriends began to laugh. After being freed in 1945, I returned to Ukraine. My grandfather said: "Your mama has lost her mind. She has thrown away her icons, and now she has some other God."
When we were left to ourselves, Mama took out a Bible and read from it that God hates idolatry. She then told me that she was attending the meetings of Jehovah's Witnesses. I threw mv arms around her neck and with tears in my eyes, quietly said, "Dear Mama, I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses too!" We both cried for joy.
Mama was very zealous in the ministry. Since almost all the brothers were imprisoned in camps, she was appointed as the group servant. Her zeal infected me as well. In 1950, I was arrested for religious activities, and the court sentenced me to ten years of camp imprisonment.
Five of us sisters were taken to the town of Usol'ye- Sibirskoye, in Siberia. From April 1951, we worked in railroad construction. We carried heavy railroad ties on our shoulders, two of us to a tie. With our own hands, we also moved and laid 11-yard-long metal tracks that weighed 700 pounds each.
We would get very tired. Once when we were going home exhausted from work, a train full of prisoners pulled up and stopped next to us.
A man looking through the window asked, "Girls, are there any Jehovah's Witnesses among you?" Our fatigue vanished. "Here are five sisters!" we yelled. The prisoners were our dear brothers and sisters who had been exiled from Ukraine. While the train stood still, they excitedly told us what had happened and how they had been exiled. Then the children recited to us poems that the brothers themselves had written. Not even the soldiers disturbed us, and we were able to associate with and encourage one another.
From Usol'ye-Sibirskoye, we were transferred to a large camp near Angarsk. There were 22 sisters there. They had organized everything, including territories for preaching. This helped us to survive spiritually. (2008 Yearbook)
