Melinda Mills reacted to Anna in The phrase "one of Jehovah's Witnesses"
As Suzy says "A Jehovah's Witness" is grammatically wrong in English. And as Melinda points out it is a label. We are witnesses for Jehovah, we are HIS witnesses, plural. If we are talking about one person (singular) then he/she is either one of (all the other) Jehovah's Witnesses or "a witness for Jehovah". In some other languages it is grammatically wrong as well. For example how would you say in Spanish if someone asked in court whose witness are you. Would you say I am "John's witness", or "one of John's witnesses" (if there is more than one witness for John). Or would not say I am "a John's witness"?

Neither have I ever heard anyone say "I am one of the Witnesses of Jehovah".  It may not be grammatically wrong but it doesn't fit our speech patterns.  Non-Witnesses will ask us, "Are you a Jehovah's Witness?" because they use the term as a label, but most native English speakers will introduce/describe themselves as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.  Note, not "one of the Jehovah's Witnesses".  There's more to language than grammar, as I said in an earlier post.  There are patterns of speech and word order (syntax) that are picked up over time through conversation with native speakers and are more important than literal translations from whatever you are accustomed to saying in your own language.
However, I will practice saying "soy un testigo de Jehova" for my next visit to South America.  So, thank you, Jay.

@Jay Iza If English is not your first language then it may sound strange.  What is more strange is putting the indefinite article, "a" before a personal name.  As in "a Jay's witness".  As I type this, my computer is correcting the phrase by striking out the a.  I guess the only reason it doesn't when I type "a Jehovah's Witness" is because the term is recognised as a label now.

Melinda Mills reacted to James Thomas Rook Jr. in People who believe they had visions of and or had a near death experience about seeing/going to Hell?
I have noticed talking to many people about "HELL" that they have a desperate need to believe in it, perhaps if only to get mad and condemn you to Hell if you don't agree with what they believe.
Wouldn't it be a hoot if there actually is a burning hell of torment where you will be tortured forever and ever ... BUT ... ONLY if you believe there is one?
Otherwise I believe all these "experiences" are all just lucid dreams partially due to oxygen starvation.

    *** w08 9/15 p. 21 Resist “the Spirit of the World” ***
Holy Spirit or the World’s Spirit?
5 The provision of holy spirit was not limited to the first century. It is readily available today, and God’s spirit can give us the strength to do what is right as well as energize us in his service. (Rom. 12:11; Phil. 4:13) It can also produce in us tender qualities, such as love, kindness, and goodness, which are aspects of “the fruitage of the spirit.” (Gal. 5:22, 23) However, Jehovah God does not force his holy spirit upon unwilling recipients.

In general can agree. But not understand what some/particular JW community has with giving opinion and standpoint about Political matters (The Trump Wall) and Interaction between Political and Religious parties.
On other side, if reports are true, some immigrants groups, in Germany as i recalled, done serious crimes.
As it can be seen on picture, Tlaxcala KH have Wall, Fence around building, as many of other houses have too. So what is the reason for talking about borders, barriers and giving "Lessons", to people outside JW community, about how Things should be among so called Worldly Nations?

Sounds like a slight misinterpretation of the TJ position. What is the source?
Also Tlaxcala is about as far away from a U.S. border wall as you can get in Mexico.

Melinda Mills got a reaction from The Librarian in Where will the demons be during the Thousand Year Reign of Christ?
They are in his sphere of influence.
(Revelation 12:3, 4) 3 Another sign was seen in heaven. Look! A great fiery-colored dragon, with seven heads and ten horns and on its heads seven diadems; 4 and its tail drags a third of the stars of heaven, and it hurled them down to the earth. . . .

Revelation 20:1-3) And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven with the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. 2 He seized the dragon, the original serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for 1,000 years. 3 And he hurled him into the abyss and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not mislead the nations anymore until the 1,000 years were ended. After this he must be released for a little while.
(Jude 6) 6 And the angels who did not keep their original position but forsook their own proper dwelling place, he has reserved with eternal bonds in dense darkness for the judgment of the great day.
(Romans 16:20) For his part, the God who gives peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. May the undeserved kindness of our Lord Jesus be with you.
1 Cor 6: 1-3  Or do you not know that the holy ones will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you not competent to try very trivial matters? 3 Do you not know that we will judge angels?
(Mark 3:22-27) 22 Also, the scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying: “He has Be·elʹze·bub, and he expels the demons by means of the ruler of the demons.” 23 So after calling them to him, he spoke to them with illustrations: “How can Satan expel Satan? 24 If a kingdom becomes divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand; 25 and if a house becomes divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. 26 Also, if Satan has risen up against himself and has become divided, he cannot stand but is coming to an end. 27 In fact, no one who enters the house of a strong man is able to steal his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man. Only then can he plunder his house.

    My take from these scriptures:
Jesus will in fact tie up that strong man - those in his house (the demons) will be affected similarly.
From above scriptures - Satan rules the demons - he is called the ruler of the demons.
These wicked angels will be judged by Jesus and the 144 000 who will rule with him. 1 Cor 6:3
Since Satan "drags them in his tail", they will be with him and share the same fate.
Their fate is already sealed - stored up for destruction. Jude 6
It is obvious they will be judged with Satan, bound with Satan and destroyed with Satan

    *** w69 10/1 p. 591 par. 22 Pay Attention to “The Prophetic Word” ***
22 In many places, the prophetic Word warns of God’s executing judgment on Satan and his “seed.” For example, there is Jeremiah 25:31-38, which tells us that “those slain by Jehovah will certainly come to be in that day from one end of the earth clear to the other end of the earth.” To the forefront are the political and religious “shepherds,” who will ‘howl’ and ‘cry out,’ and wallowing with them are the “majestic ones of the flock,” including the favored prominent followers, who follow them into destruction. Finally, the original Serpent himself, together with his demons, will be shut up for a thousand years. Revelation 19:11 to 20:3 describes how Christ Jesus and the holy angels of heaven will fight for just such a victory, in vindication of Jehovah’s name. The triumph over the Serpent and his “seed” will be complete!

I knew what they meant but it was the strange wording. Although the shepherds would be the Elders I presume.
I was just wondering if there was some 'new light' to change the names. Or if it was for any legal reasons.
But i now notice @The Librarian has changed the original wording, how strange ?

Melinda Mills reacted to The Librarian in Tornado in Havana, Cuba
On January 27, 2019, a tornado hit Havana, the capital of Cuba. With wind gusts of up to 322 kilometers per hour (200 mph) - which makes it the strongest storm that hits the island in almost 80 years - the tornado carved a 11 km trail ( 7 miles) of destruction that damaged buildings and caused flooding. At least 4 people have died, and 195 were injured.

No brother or sister was injured or killed by the storm. However, 26 homes of our brothers suffered damage, 3 of which are used to hold congregation meetings. Arrangements are being carried out to take care of the necessary repair work.

Traveling Overseers have been providing spiritual support to other faithful who have endured the tornado and its side effects. We pray for the Lord to grant our brothers and sisters peace while recovering from this disaster. - numbers 6:26.

Melinda Mills reacted to The Librarian in Grazing Visit
A brother, who regularly attended meetings, stopped attending for no apparent reason. After a few weeks an elder visited him. It was a very cold night, and his brother found him at home alone, sitting in front of the fireplace, where a bright, warm fire burned.
Imagining the reason for his visit, the brother invited him in, led him to a seat near the fireplace, and stood there, quiet, silent, and talked with the old man, and the old man did not even talk to him.
There was a great silence, and they watched the dance of the burning flames, which burned around the logs.
After a few minutes, the old man examined the coals that had formed and carefully separated the most incandescent of all, away from the others, and sat down again, remaining silent and still.
While the host paid attention to everything, fascinated but still. After a little while, the flame of the solitary ember disappeared, until there was a faint glow, and it went out.
In a short time, what was once a flame of heat and light, became a piece of charcoal, cold, inert and covered with ashes.
No word had been said, between the two, since the initial greeting.
Before leaving, the old man used his pen to carry the cold and useless piece of charcoal back to the fireplace.
Almost immediately he rekindled an ardent flame fueled by the heat of the other ardent embers around him. The brother who was discouraged watched, without understanding.
However, when the elder withdrew, the host told him: Thank you for your visit and beautiful lesson. Until the next meeting.
Conclusion: God's congregation is like a "fire" in a blazing flame, and the burning coals are us, while we are active in the preaching service, reading the scriptures, and attending the meetings. Since experiences, comments, and presence at meetings, embraces, concern for our well-being, make our love and desire to serve God grow even more. Matthew 24:14 and Hebrews 10: 24, 25.
However, when we stop gathering, that fire-like heat is gradually disappearing, even to the point of avoiding our brothers. And in time, we became cold, lifeless, lifeless, like a piece of coal.
Because we are not letting Jehovah speak to us through Bible reading, we do not prepare and attend meetings, just as we do not speak to Jehovah through prayer. And so, that warmth and joy that we enjoy among our brethren fades, until we become like pieces of charcoal.
In this system, we all experience difficulties, and we often feel discouraged, especially in these last days, that our enemy "Satan" walks around us, like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5: 8.
Therefore, Jehovah appointed the elders to care for "His flock." For in times of difficulty "grazing visits," to encourage us not to fall into temptation, are magisterial to heal us from "discouragement," and not to miss meetings. For Jehovah looks upon his humble servants, as "a people for his pasture," and "the sheep of his hand." Hebrews 13:17, Psalms 95: 7

Both the criminal and Jesus were about to die that day..  The criminal could not repent, be converted and be baptised as time had run out for him. (1 Peter 3:19) Jesus could read hearts and knew that this particular criminal who asked him to remember him when he got into his Kingdom (rules over Paradise) had a good heart and in time would come to know God and love Him.  He assured him he would be there in the earthly realm of the Kingdom (Paradise).  He would be in the Memorial tombs (John 5: 28,29) and he would be among the unrighteous whom God will resurrect through Jesus to learn about Him and  given the opportunity to choose to serve Him or not. Acts 24:15 also speaks about righteous and unrighteous ones who will come back to learn and to benefit from the priestly services of Jesus and the 144,000 king-priests. During that 1000-year reign he will have ample opportunity to learn God's will, see the majesty of Jehovah, appreciate his way of  doing things and grow to love him.

"(Isaiah 26:9, 10) In the night I long for you with my whole being, Yes, my spirit keeps looking for you; For when there are judgments from you for the earth, The inhabitants of the land learn about righteousness. 10 Even if the wicked is shown favor, He will not learn righteousness. Even in the land of uprightness he will act wickedly, And he will not see the majesty of Jehovah."
It is clear that those with a good heart condition will learn righteousness, but some will prove to be wicked and will not benefit. Jesus knows this man will be resurrected so he can benefit; this particular criminal is already looking promising when we read his comment concerning Jesus not deserving this fate. He has a sense of justice and fairness. He also has faith and confidence in Jesus' ascension to his throne in the future.
