  4. How can the Bible written 1,000's of years ago be a letter for today in 2017? - You say it is a living message, How? - Read why God's Word is Alive! ~ ??? “They Were Borne Along by Holy Spirit” “Prophecy was at no time brought by manÂ’s will, but men spoke from God as they were borne along by holy spirit.”—2 PET. 1:21. ??? POINTS TO PONDER ? How was GodÂ’s message transmitted by holy spirit to Bible writers? ??? What evidence proves that the Bible is inspired of God? ??? What can you do daily to maintain your appreciation for GodÂ’s Word? ??? WHERE do we come from? Why are we here? Where are we going? Why is the world the way it is? What happens to us when we die? People around the globe ask these questions. How would we know the answers to these and other important questions if we did not have the inspired Word of God? ??? Without the Holy Scriptures, our primary teacher would be personal experience. With personal experience as our teacher, could we ever have the same sentiments as the psalmist had toward “the law of Jehovah”?—Read Psalm 19:7. ??? The sad reality, though, is that some have allowed the love they first had for Bible truth to cool off. (Compare Revelation 2:4.) They no longer walk in the way that pleases Jehovah. (Isa. 30:21) That does not have to happen to us. We can and should work at maintaining our appreciation for the Bible and its teachings. The Bible is an important gift from our loving Creator. (Jas. 1:17) What will help us deepen our appreciation for “the word of God”? A key is reflecting on how Bible writers were guided to write the Scriptures. That involves calling to mind some of the abundant evidence of its inspiration. Doing so should stimulate us to read from GodÂ’s Word daily and to apply its counsel.—Heb. 4:12. “??? 5. Will Monday’s Total Eclipse Change Your Life? ?Will the Heavens Declare the Glory of God?? ????????? By: Bob King | August 16, 2017 Total solar eclipses have the power to touch us deeply and reverberate through our life in unexpected ways. ????????? Whether this is your first or your 30th total solar eclipse, we all share one desire — to let the awe of this extraordinarily rare experience wash over us. You never know how 161 seconds of darkness in the middle of day may change your life. I've attempted to see five solar eclipses and succeeded three times. Each one has enlarged my spirit, become a touchstone moment, and set me off on new adventures as I confidently predict the August 21st event will for you. ????????? My best memory of the eclipse was viewing the corona through binoculars that gently bounced to the rhythm of my pumping heart. It looked alive! I couldn't believe the detail, the silkiness of the thread-like streamers. Few photos show this well, but wait till you see this silvery diadem for yourself — you'll never forget it. I know this sounds impossible, but I could have sworn the streamers were moving like glowing tentacles quivering in ultra-slow motion. Has anyone else experienced this or was it just my overactive brain? ????????? "It is the only natural event that I have experienced that felt supernatural." That's how my friend Greg Furtman described the 1998 eclipse we saw from Renaissance Beach on the island of Aruba. ????????? But moments before totality, we both experienced another emotion: terror. Cooling temperatures brought on with the approach of totality caused masses of clouds to materialize in the blue sky only minutes before the total eclipse. Suddenly, it became apparent that we might miss the best part of the show. Luckily, the clouds only partially eclipsed the totally-eclipsed Sun — we still got great views of the prominences and corona in the sucker holes. ????????? Up to this time, I'd viewed solar eclipses — two totals and two annulars — from a frozen lake, a hotel beach, a science museum, and a cemetery, but this was my first experience at a beach. Eyes may have wandered during the partial eclipse, but all were transfixed on what was happening overhead for 3 minutes and 45 seconds. ????????? If all goes well, this will be my fourth totality, and I'm looking forward to every second of it. I'm sure you are, too. Every total eclipse is a personal journey. I hope the August 2017 eclipse will reverberate through your life in ways you never expected. ????????? http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/clear-or-cloudy-get-ready-for-an-eclipse-adventure/ ????????? http://www.skyandtelescope.com/total-solar-eclipse-august-2017/ Tap on Link for Video ___ Enjoy! 7. The Watchman’s Heavy Responsibility Literal watchmen were often stationed on the city walls and towers to warn of approaching danger. Jehovah appointed Ezekiel as a figurative “watchman to the house of Israel.” ??? Jehovah appointed Ezekiel as a watchman – Eze.33:7. Eze 33:8, 9—The watchman avoided bloodguilt by sounding the warning ??? Jehovah raised up prophets who served as figurative watchmen to the nation of Israel (Jer 6:17), and they, in turn, sometimes spoke of watchmen in a symbolic way. (Isa 21:6, 8; 52:8; 62:6; Ho 9:8) ??? These prophet-watchmen had the responsibility to warn the wicked of impending destruction, and if they failed to do so, they were held accountable. Of course, if the people were unresponsive and failed to heed the warning, their blood was upon themselves. (Eze 3:17-21;33:1-9) ??? An unfaithful prophet was about as worthless as a blind watchman or a voiceless dog. —Isa 56:10. https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/tl/r1/lp-e?q=watchman Â
  8.  Psalm 72:8 "He will have subjects from sea to sea, And from the River to the ends of the earth." ??????? Who Is the Right Leader for Today? Psalm 72 gives us some prophetic details of how this perfect, immortal King will rule. In Ps 72 verses 7 and 8, we read: “In his days the righteous one will sprout, and the abundance of peace until the moon is no more. And he will have subjects from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth.” Under his beneficial rule, earth’s inhabitants will enjoy everlasting and unbroken security. He will destroy all existing weapons and will remove from man’s heart even the desire for conflict. Those men who today attack others like voracious lions or who act like ill-tempered bears toward their neighbors will have changed their dispositions completely. (Isaiah 11:1-9) Peace will be abundant. ??????? Psalm 72 further says in Ps 72 verses 12 through 14: “He will deliver the poor one crying for help, also the afflicted one and whoever has no helper. He will feel sorry for the lowly one and the poor one, and the souls of the poor ones he will save. From oppression and from violence he will redeem their soul, and their blood will be precious in his eyes.” The lowly, poor, and afflicted will become part of one happy human family, unified under the leadership of the King Jesus Christ. Joy, not pain and despair, will characterize their lives.—Isaiah 35:10. ??????? Ps 72 Verse 16 promises: “There will come to be plenty of grain on the earth; on the top of the mountains there will be an overflow.” Hunger is the constant companion of millions on earth today. Politics and greed often prevent the fair distribution of sufficient food, so that multitudes, especially children, die of starvation. But under the rule of Jesus Christ, this problem will vanish. The earth will be blessed with good harvests of delicious food. All mankind will be well fed. ??????? https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2004801?q=ps+72%3A8&p=par Tap on Video Link ___ Enjoy! ? 1 GIF Tap on Picture for it to play! IMG_2915.MP4
  9. Touching Story ---> ''Our Apple Tree'' ????? A long time ago, there was a huge apple tree. A little boy loved to come and play around it everyday. He climbed to the tree top, ate the apples, and took a nap under the shadow. ????? He loved the tree and the tree loved to play with him. Time went by, the little boy had grown up and he no longer played around the tree every day. ????? One day, the boy came back to the tree and he looked sad. ????? “Come and play with me”, the tree asked the boy. ???????? “I am no longer a kid, I do not play around trees any more” the boy replied. ????? “I want toys. I need money to buy them.” ????? “Sorry, but I do not have money, but you can pick all my apples and sell them. So, you will have money.” ????? The boy was so excited. He grabbed all the apples on the tree and left happily. The boy never came back after he picked the apples. The tree was sad. ????? One day, the boy who now turned into a man returned and the tree was excited. ?????? “Come and play with me” the tree said. ?????? “I do not have time to play. I have to work for my family. We need a house for shelter. Can you help me?” ?????? “Sorry, but I do not have any house. But you can chop off my branches to build your house.” So the man cut all the branches of the tree and left happily. The tree was glad to see him happy but the man never came back since then. The tree was again lonely and sad. ????? One hot summer day, the man returned and the tree was delighted. ????? “Come and play with me!” the tree said. ?????? “I am getting old. I want to go sailing to relax myself. Can you give me a boat?” said the man. ?????? “Use my trunk to build your boat. You can sail far away and be happy.” ?????? So the man cut the tree trunk to make a boat. He went sailing and never showed up for a long time. ?????? Finally, the man returned after many years. “Sorry, my boy. But I do not have anything for you anymore. No more apples for you”, the tree said. “No problem, I do not have any teeth to bite” the man replied. ???????? “No more trunk for you to climb on.” “I am too old for that now” the man said. “I really cannot give you anything, the only thing left is my dying roots,” the tree said with tears. ????? “I do not need much now, just a place to rest. I am tired after all these years,” the man replied. ?????? “Good! Old tree roots are the best place to lean on and rest, come sit down with me and rest.” The man sat down and the tree was glad and smiled with tears. ?????????? This is a story of everyone. The tree is like our parents. When we were young, we loved to play with our Mother and Dad. When we grow up, we leave them; only come to them when we need something or when we are in trouble. No matter what, parents will always be there and give everything they could just to make you happy. ???????????? You may think the boy is cruel to the tree, but that is how all of us treat our parents. We take them for granted; we donÂ’t appreciate all they do for us, until itÂ’s too late. ???????????? ~ Moral: ?????? Treat your parents with loving careÂ…. For you will know their value, when you see their empty chairÂ…We never know the love of our parents for us; till we have become parents. ????? 10. Was Zipporah the Cushite wife of Moses in Numbers 12:1? ???????? Zipporah, is the Cushite wife mentioned in Numbers 12:1 Numbers 12:1 in the Authorized Version reads: “And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.” ???????? The New World Translation reads: “Now Miriam and Aaron began to speak against Moses on account of the Cushite wife whom he had taken, because it was a Cushite wife he had taken.” ???????? This started off a controversy that quickly led into the complaint by Miriam and Aaron that Moses took too much upon himself as JehovahÂ’s spokesman. It was more than an objection against MosesÂ’ choice of a wife. The real motive behind it was a desire by Miriam and Aaron for more power in the camp, and especially on MiriamÂ’s part. Some Bible commentators say that since Moses had been married to Zipporah for a long time she was not the one involved here, as any objection against her would have been raised long before. So they reason that Zipporah had died and Moses had remarried, this time selecting an Ethiopian woman, and that this remarriage was recent and raised the controversy. ???????? But the Bible does not say this, and the circumstances do not require such reasoning. Zipporah had been away from Moses, and now she rejoined him in the camp near Mount Sinai. It was soon after the camp began to move that the contention arose. Hence, while the marriage was not recent, the presence of Zipporah in the camp was.—Ex. 18:1-5. ???????? Miriam feared being replaced as first lady in the camp, now that Zipporah had arrived. She got Aaron to join with her in complaining against Moses, first on the grounds of his wife, and then on the related but more general contention that Moses took too much authority to himself. Jealous ambition was involved in both aspects of the complaint, and logically ties together the first verse of Numbers chapter twelve with what follows. ???????? Some commentators fail to see this relationship and therefore argue that verse one does not fit with what follows and must be an interpolation. For these reasons, and in the absence of any record of ZipporahÂ’s death and a remarriage on MosesÂ’ part, it can be concluded that the Cushite woman was Zipporah. But she was the daughter of priest Reuel of the land of Midian, where the descendants of Abraham by Midian lived. She was not an Ethiopian. She was not a Cushite in the sense of being a descendant of HamÂ’s son Cush, the forefather of the Ethiopians. ???????? There were Arabians on the Arabian peninsula called Kusi or Kushim not Ethiopians. This is shown by Habakkuk 3:7 (AT): “The tent-hangings of Cushan were torn to shreds; the hangings of the land of Midian fluttered wildly.” Cushan is made parallel to Midian as the same place. So it seems that “Cushite” was not always limited to descendants of Ham through Cush, but also was applied to some of the peoples of the land of Midian. Therefore Zipporah could be referred to as a Cushite at Numbers 12:1. ???????? https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1200004748 Â
  11. In the FACE of Danger Where Do YOU Run? - What Tower is the ONLY Tower YOU Can Run to? - Just Saying is NOT Running!! - See Why – ?????????????? (Proverbs 18:10) . . .The name of Jehovah is a strong tower. Into it the righteous runs and is given protection." David understood even though his heart grew feeble, there is no strength in anyone else! ?????????????? (Psalm 28:7) "Jehovah is my strength and my shield. In him my heart has trusted, And I have been helped, so that my heart exults, And with my song I shall laud him.' ?????????????? (Psalm 61:superscription-8) To the director on stringed instruments. Of David. 61 Do hear, O God, my entreating cry. Do pay attention to my prayer. 2 From the extremity of the earth I shall cry, even to you, when my heart grows feeble. Onto a rock that is higher than I am may you lead me. 3 For you have proved to be a refuge for me, A strong tower in the face of the enemy. 4 I will be a guest in your tent for times indefinite; I will take refuge in the concealment of your wings. Se?lah. 5 For you yourself, O God, have listened to my vows. You have given [me] the possession of those fearing your name. 6 Days you will add to the days of the king; His years will be like generation after generation. 7 He will dwell to time indefinite before God; O assign loving-kindness and trueness, that these may safeguard him. 8 So I will make melody to your name forever, That I may pay my vows day after day." ?????????????? (1 Samuel 17:46) This day Jehovah will surrender you into my hand, and I shall certainly strike you down and remove your head off you; and I shall certainly give the carcasses of the camp of the Phi·lis?tines this day to the fowls of the heavens and to the wild beasts of the earth; and people of all the earth will know that there exists a God belonging to Israel." ?????????????? (Psalm 33:21) For in him our heart rejoices; For in his holy name we have put our trust." ?????????????? (Psalm 18:2) Jehovah is my crag and my stronghold and the Provider of escape for me. My God is my rock. I shall take refuge in him, My shield and my horn of salvation, my secure height." ?????????????? (Psalm 71:3) Become to me a rock fortress into which to enter constantly. You must command to save me, For you are my crag and my stronghold." ?????????????? (Psalm 91:14) Because on me he has set his affection, I shall also provide him with escape. I shall protect him because he has come to know my name." ?????????????? In Bible times, towers were sometimes built in the wilderness as safe places of refuge. But it was up to the one in danger to flee to such a tower to find safety. It is similar with finding refuge in God’s name. This involves more than just repeating God’s name; the divine name itself is no magic charm. ?????????????? Rather, we need to know and trust the Bearer of that name and live in harmony with his righteous standards. How kind of Jehovah to reassure us that if we turn to him in faith, he will be a tower of protection for us! ?????????????? Learn more at: https://www.jw.org/en/free-bible-study/
  12. “The Blessing of Jehovah—That Is What Makes One Rich!" ?????????? New World Translation Proverbs 10:22 22 It is the blessing of Jehovah that makes one rich, And He adds no pain* with it."  ALL of us want to be blessed. The American Heritage College Dictionary says that blessings promote “happiness, well-being, or prosperity.” Since Jehovah is the Giver of “every good gift and every perfect present,” every real, lasting blessing originates with our loving Creator. (James 1:17) ?????????? He showers blessings upon all mankind, even upon those who do not know him. Jesus said of his Father: “He makes his sun rise upon wicked people and good and makes it rain upon righteous people and unrighteous.” (Matthew 5:45) However, Jehovah shows special concern for those who love him.—Deuteronomy 28:1-14; Job 1:1; 42:12. ?????????? The psalmist wrote: “Jehovah himself will not hold back anything good from those walking in faultlessness.” (Psalm 84:11) Yes, those who serve Jehovah have rich, meaningful lives. They know that “the blessing of Jehovah—that is what makes rich, and he adds no pain with it.” The Bible also says: “Those being blessed by [Jehovah] will themselves possess the earth.” (Proverbs 10:22; Psalm 37:22, 29) ?????????? 21. @David Normand Very interesting information! I included some but much more on the website! When and Where Written. The book of Genesis was evidently part of the one original writing (the Torah), and it was possibly completed by Moses in the wilderness of Sinai in the year 1513 B.C.E. After Genesis 1:1, 2 (relating to the creation of the heavens and the earth), the book evidently covers a span of thousands of years involved in the preparation of the earth for human habitation (see CREATION; DAY), and thereafter it covers the period from man’s creation on down to the year 1657 B.C.E., when Joseph died.—See CHRONOLOGY (From Human Creation to the Present). Writership. The objection once raised by some skeptics that writing was not known in Moses’ day is today generally discounted. In his book New Discoveries in Babylonia About Genesis (1949, p. 35), P. J. Wiseman points out that archaeological research gives ample proof that “the art of writing began in the earliest historical times known to man.” Virtually all modern scholars acknowledge the existence of writing long before the time of Moses (in the second millennium B.C.E.). Expressions such as that found in Exodus 17:14, “Write this as a memorial in the book,” substantiate the fact that writing was in common use in Moses’ day. Adam must have had the ability to devise a form of writing, God having given him, as a perfect man, a language, with the ability to handle it perfectly, even to the extent of composing poetry.—Ge 2:19, 23. From where did Moses get the information he included in Genesis? All the information contained in the book of Genesis relates to events that took place prior to Moses’ birth. It could have been received directly by divine revelation. It is obvious that someone had to receive the information relating to the events prior to man’s creation in that way, whether Moses or someone prior to him. (Ge 1:1-27; 2:7, 8) This information and the remaining details, however, could have been transmitted to Moses by means of oral tradition. Because of the long life span of men of that period, the information could have been passed from Adam to Moses through just five human links, namely, Methuselah, Shem, Isaac, Levi, and Amram. A third possibility is that Moses obtained much of the information for Genesis from already existing writings or documents. As far back as the 18th century, the Dutch scholar Campegius Vitringa held this view, basing his conclusion upon the frequent occurrence in Genesis (ten times) of the expression (in KJ) “these are the generations of,” and once “this is the book of the generations of.” (Ge 2:4; 5:1; 6:9; 10:1; 11:10, 27; 25:12, 19; 36:1, 9; 37:2) In this expression the Hebrew word for “generations” is toh·le·dhohthʹ, and it is better rendered “histories” or “origins.” For example, “generations of the heavens and of the earth” would hardly be fitting, whereas “history of the heavens and the earth” is meaningful. (Ge 2:4) In harmony with this, the German Elberfelder, the French Crampon, and the Spanish Bover-Cantera all use the term “history,” as does the New World Translation. There is no doubt that even as men today are interested in an accurate historical record, so they have been from the start. For these reasons, Vitringa and others since have understood each use of toh·le·dhohthʹ in Genesis to refer to an already existing written historical document that Moses had in his possession and that he relied upon for the majority of the information recorded in Genesis. They believe that the persons named in direct connection with such ‘histories’ (Adam, Noah, Noah’s sons, Shem, Terah, Ishmael, Isaac, Esau, and Jacob) were either the writers or original possessors of those written documents. This, of course, would still leave unexplained how all such documents came to be in the possession of Moses. It also leaves unexplained why documents obtained from men who were not distinguished as faithful worshipers of Jehovah (such as Ishmael and Esau) should be the source of much of the information used. It is entirely possible that the expression “This is the history of” is simply an introductory phrase serving conveniently to divide off the various sections of the long overall history. Compare Matthew’s use of a similar expression to introduce his Gospel account.—Mt 1:1; see WRITING. No definite conclusion can be arrived at, therefore, as to the immediate source from which Moses obtained the information he recorded. Rather than just by one of the methods discussed, the information may have been received by all three, some through direct revelation, some through oral transmission, some by written records. The important point is that Jehovah God guided the prophet Moses so that he wrote by divine inspiration.—2Pe 1:21. The “Documentary Theory” of Critics. A theory has been set forth by some Bible critics that Genesis is not the work of one writer or compiler, namely, Moses, but rather that it represents the work of several writers, some of these living long after Moses’ time. On the basis of supposed differences of style and word usage, they have advanced the so-called documentary theory. According to this theory, there were three sources, which they call “J” (Jahwist), “E” (Elohist), and “P” (Priest Codex). Because of a double mention of a certain event or because of similarity of accounts in different parts of Genesis, some would add still further sources to the list, going so far in dissecting the book of Genesis as to claim that there were up to 14 independent sources. They contend that these various sources or writers held different views and theologies yet that, nevertheless, Genesis as an amalgamated product of these sources somehow forms a connected whole. There are many absurdities to which they go to support their theories, a few of which may be mentioned. The original basis for the documentary theory was the use of different titles for God; the critics claim that this indicates different writers. The unreasonableness of such a view, however, can be seen in that in just one small portion of Genesis we find the following titles: “the Most High God” (ʼEl ʽEl·yohnʹ, Ge 14:18); “Producer of heaven and earth” (14:19); “Sovereign Lord” (ʼAdho·naiʹ, 15:2); “God of sight” (16:13); “God Almighty” (ʼEl Shad·daiʹ, 17:1); “God” (ʼElo·himʹ, 17:3); “the true God” (ha·ʼElo·himʹ, 17:18); “the Judge of all the earth” (18:25). Trying to use this as a basis for attributing each of these sections to a different writer produces insurmountable difficulties and becomes absurd. Rather, the truth is that the different titles applied to God in Genesis are used because of their meaning, revealing Jehovah in his different attributes, in his various works, and in his dealings with his people. https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1200001650?q=writer+of+genesis&p=par#h=6 Enjoy the research!
