  1. Do Not Give Up in Doing What Is Fine ??????? “Let us not give up in doing what is fine, for in due season we shall reap if we do not tire out.” (Galatians 6:9) ??????? Yes, although Satan is intent on destroying our faith, we must take our stand against him, solid in the faith. (1 Peter 5:8, 9) What can result from our faithful course? Explains James 1:2, 3: “Consider it all joy, my brothers, when you meet with various trials, knowing as you do that this tested quality of your faith works out endurance.” ??????? Remember, too, that “Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9) ??????? Notice, God is “patient with you”—members of the Christian congregation. Evidently, some of us need more time to make changes and adjustments so as to “be found finally by him spotless and unblemished and in peace.” (2 Peter 3:14) Should we not be grateful, then, that God has shown such patience? ??????? https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2001606?q=gal+6%3A9&p=par
  2. 12 And I will meditate on all your activity And ponder over your dealings." ??????? Meditate on Jehovah’s Enduring Love “I will meditate on all your activity.”—PS. 77:12. ??????? Humans were created with the need to love and be loved. It is easy to become discouraged if this need is not satisfied because of unexpected events or disappointments, loss of health, financial setbacks, or a lack of success in the ministry. If we begin to feel that Jehovah no longer loves us, we do well to remember that we are precious to him and that he is there, “grasping [our] right hand” and helping us. He will never forget us if we are faithful to him.—Isa. 41:13; 49:15. ??????? "There is nothing better for a man than to eat and drink and find enjoyment in his hard work. This too, I have realized, is from the hand of the true God. (Ecc.2:24). ??????? Our love for Jehovah moves us to meditate on his creative works and other marvelous deeds. We show that we love God and highly value his Word by diligently studying the Bible. Love for Jehovah draws us ever closer to him in prayer. And our love for God grows deeper as we reflect on the ransom sacrifice he provided for our sins. (1 John 2:1, 2) These are just some of the many reasons we have for loving Jehovah in response to his enduring love for us. https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2015602?q=ps+77%3A12&p=par
  3. "It is as a free gift that they are being declared righteous . . . through the release by the ransom paid by Christ Jesus."—Rom. 3:24. ????? By Undeserved Kindness You Were Set Free “Sin must not be master over you, seeing that you are . . . under undeserved kindness.”—ROM. 6:14. Jesus included in the model prayer the request to God: “Forgive us our sins.” (Luke 11:2-4) Hence, we have no reason to dwell on mistakes that God has forgiven. Still, we can benefit from thinking about how he could—and did—forgive us. “All have sinned . . . , and it is as a free gift that they are being declared righteous by his undeserved kindness through the release by the ransom paid by Christ Jesus.” (Rom. 3:23, 24) ????? Jehovah was not obliged to have his Son come to earth to provide the ransom. Moreover, imperfect, sinful humans did not of themselves merit, or deserve, what God and Jesus did in providing a ransom by which forgiveness was possible. So our being forgiven and offered the prospect of living forever is truly a kindness that is undeserved. We should highly value the gift of God’s undeserved kindness and let it affect our life daily. ????? By means of God’s undeserved kindness, our sins have been forgiven and can continue to be forgiven. In appreciation, let us work at overcoming any tendency to give in to what others might consider minor sins. Paul emphasized the reward that then awaits us: “Now that you were set free from sin and became slaves to God, you are producing your fruit in the way of holiness, and the end is everlasting life.”—Rom. 6:22. ????? https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2016924?q=rom+3%3A24&p=par
  4. (Isaiah 35:5) "At that time the eyes of the blind will be opened" . Paradise—For You? ????? You have reason to believe the Bible’s promises about that Paradise. For example, you have confidence in Jesus’ words to the impaled evildoer: “You will be with me in Paradise.” (Luke 23:43) ????? You trust the promise: “There are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise, and in these righteousness is to dwell.” You also trust the promise that God will wipe out our tears; death will be no more; grief, outcry, and pain will end. This means that an earthly paradise will exist again!—2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:4. https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2004763?q=isa+35%3A5&p=par

  6. Noah, Moses, Jeremiah, Paul, Esther and Jesus were all devoted. They used their time and energy to proclaim Jehovah’s warning message. ??? "God is the one that, for the sake of his good pleasure, is acting within you in order for you both to will and to act."—Phil. 2:13. ??? So whether your God-given hope is that of everlasting life in heaven or on earth, Jehovah can supply you with “power beyond what is normal” in order for you to maintain your integrity and receive your reward. (2 Cor. 4:7) ??? Your continued preaching of the good news of the Kingdom may draw ridicule. But remember that “if you are being reproached for the name of Christ, you are happy, because the spirit of glory, even the spirit of God, is resting upon you.”—1 Pet. 4:14. ??? How will Jehovah help you by means of his holy spirit, and what is your determination in this regard? ??? Holy spirit is God’s free gift to those who sincerely seek it. It can enhance not only your abilities but also your desire to do your best in his service. “God is the one that, for the sake of his good pleasure, is acting within you in order for you both to will and to act.” ??? The precious gift of holy spirit, coupled with our earnest efforts to keep “a tight grip on the word of life,” will allow us to “keep working out [our] own salvation with fear and trembling.”—Phil. 2:12, 13, 16. ??? With complete confidence in God’s spirit, then, pour your heart into every assignment, become skilled at what you are given to do, and look to Jehovah for assistance. (Jas. 1:5) ??? He will give you what you need to understand his Word, cope with life’s problems, and preach the good news. “Keep on asking, and it will be given you; keep on seeking, and you will find; keep on knocking, and it will be opened to you,” and this includes receiving holy spirit. (Luke 11:9, 13) ??? Indeed, keep on supplicating Jehovah that you may be like faithful ones—both ancient and modern—who were guided by God’s holy spirit. ??? Can You Explain? •? 7. "Jehovah will . . . war against those nations."—Zech. 14:3. ??⚡️☄️?? Stay in Jehovah’s Valley of Protection “Jehovah will . . . war against those nations as in the day of his warring, in the day of fight.”—ZECHARIAH 14:3. A prophecy we read in Zechariah chapter 14 tells us a lot about the war of Armageddon. If we continue to be faithful to Jehovah, we stay in Jehovah’s valley of protection. He and his Son will not allow anyone or anything to take us away from their protection. (John 10:28, 29) ??⚡️☄️?? Jehovah gives us all the help we need to be loyal to his rule and to the rule of his Son. We will need God’s help even more during the great tribulation that will soon arrive. So it is now more important than ever that we stay in Jehovah’s valley of protection. ??⚡️☄️?? From now until the end of this wicked world, Satan’s attacks on God’s people will become stronger. But soon Satan will make his last attack. On that day, Jehovah will fight and destroy all the enemies of his people. That will be “the day of his warring” foretold by Zechariah. This war will show more than any other what a glorious Warrior Jehovah is.—Zechariah 14:3. ??⚡️☄️?? On the day Jehovah fights his enemies, what will happen to those who do not have God’s protection? The prophecy says that they will have “no precious light.” This means that they will not have God’s favor. The prophecy continues by saying that “the horse, the mule, the camel, and the male ass, and every sort of domestic animal” will be “congealed.” ??⚡️☄️?? This means that weapons and machines used in war will freeze, or in other words, become useless. Zechariah says that Jehovah will punish his enemies with a “scourge,” or disease. Their eyes and tongues “will rot away.” We do not know if this will be a literal disease. But we do know that they will not be able to harm us or to speak against God. (Zechariah 14:6, 7, 12, 15) ??⚡️☄️?? All “the kings of the earth and their armies” will take Satan’s side. But no matter where they are on the earth, they will be destroyed. (Revelation 19:19-21) “Those slain by Jehovah will certainly come to be in that day from one end of the earth clear to the other end.”—Jeremiah 25:32, 33. ??⚡️☄️?? ?“The day of his warring” (Zechariah 14:3): Armageddon, or Jehovah’s war against this wicked world ?Jehovah’s valley of protection or the “very great valley” (Zechariah 14:4): The protection Jehovah gives to those who are faithful to him https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/402013124?q=zech+14%3A3&p=par

  9. Can't sleep? It's called "over thinking." What is bothering you? Worries, pain, sadness, stress? ??? "The peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus." (Phil.4:7) ??? So many sad things happen to people, humans need comfort and relief. During the Thousand Year Reign of Christ, God “will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.” (Revelation 21:4) ??? It is wonderful to think that there will be no more pain and suffering. It is even more wonderful that God promises to take away death. ??? Try thinking about this when under stress and can't sleep? We are very close to this fulfillment of this wonderful prophecy and you can see this before your eyes come true. Now, get some sleep let go of anxiety and just "look ahead" miracles do come true. ???

  11. "Although all the others are stumbled in connection with you, never will I be stumbled!"—Matt. 26:33. ??????? A Dispute Over Greatness * JESUS GIVES COUNSEL ABOUT POSITION * PETER’S DENIAL FORETOLD * LOVE IDENTIFIES JESUS’ FOLLOWERS ??????? Despite their imperfections, the apostles have stuck with Jesus through many challenging situations. So he says: “I make a covenant with you, just as my Father has made a covenant with me, for a kingdom.” (Luke 22:29) These men are Jesus’ loyal followers. He assures them that by means of a covenant between him and them, they will be in the Kingdom and share in his royal dominion. ??????? Although the apostles have this marvelous prospect, they are still in the flesh and are still imperfect. Jesus tells them: “Satan has demanded to have all of you to sift you as wheat,” which scatters as it is sifted. (Luke 22:31) He also warns: “All of you will be stumbled in connection with me on this night, for it is written: ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered about.’”—Matthew 26:31; Zechariah 13:7. ??????? Peter confidently objects: “Although all the others are stumbled in connection with you, I will never be stumbled!” (Matthew 26:33) Jesus tells Peter that before a rooster crows twice that night, Peter will disown him. However, Jesus adds: “I have made supplication for you that your faith may not give out; and you, once you have returned, strengthen your brothers.” (Luke 22:32) Yet Peter boldly affirms: “Even if I should have to die with you, I will by no means disown you.” (Matthew 26:35) The other apostles say the same thing. ??????? https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1102014718?q=matt+26%3A33&p=par

  13. God’s people give due prominence to the divine name "You are my witnesses."—Isa. 43:12. HOW THE WATCHTOWER HAS EXALTED GOD’S NAME THE MEANING OF GOD’S NAME Throughout the years, the front cover of the Watchtower magazine gave more and more importance to the name Jehovah. Note some of the adjustments that occurred on the magazine’s cover. Zion’s Watch Tower, July 1879From the outset, the magazine used God’s name. The second issue stated: “‘Zion’s Watch Tower’ has, we believe, JEHOVAH for its backer.” The Watchtower, October 15, 1931The name Jehovah and the scripture Isaiah 43:12 became part of the cover. The Watchtower, January 1, 1939The name Jehovah appeared in two places on the cover, together with Isaiah 43:12 and Ezekiel 35:15. The Watchtower, March 1, 1939The name Jehovah appeared on the cover in three places; also starting with this issue, the full title of the magazine became The Watchtower Announcing Jehovah’s Kingdom. God’s Name Is Being Exalted Worldwide How did the new name stimulate the preaching work? Having the Scriptural name Jehovah’s Witnesses gave God’s servants added strength to share in the preaching work. Edward and Jessie Grimes, a pioneer couple in the United States who attended the 1931 convention in Columbus, observed: “We left home as Bible Students, but we returned as Jehovah’s Witnesses. We were happy that we now had a name that helped us to magnify the name of our God.” After that convention, some Witnesses used a new method to do just that. They introduced themselves to householders by handing them a card with the message: “One of JEHOVAH’S witnesses preaching the Kingdom of JEHOVAH our God.” Yes, God’s people were proud to bear the name Jehovah, and they were ready to proclaim its significance far and wide.—Isa. 12:4. “We left home as Bible Students, but we returned as Jehovah’s Witnesses” https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1102014243?q=isa+43%3A12&p=par#h=64

  17. Will Man Ruin the Earth Beyond Repair? ☢️?⌛️? “A generation is going, and a generation is coming, but the earth remains forever.”—KING SOLOMON, 11TH CENTURY B.C.E.* ☢️?⌛️? The ancient prophet Isaiah described God as “the One who formed the earth, its Maker who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, but formed it to be inhabited.” (Isaiah 45:18) Clearly, God’s purpose is for the earth to be inhabited by man forever. ?☢️⌛️? Sadly, man has misused God’s beautiful gift to the point of ruination. Yet, the Creator’s purpose has not changed. A man of old said: “God is not a mere man who tells lies, nor a son of man who changes his mind. When he says something, will he not do it?” (Numbers 23:19) In fact, rather than allow the earth to be ruined, the time is rapidly approaching for God to “bring to ruin those ruining the earth.”—Revelation 11:18. ?☢️⌛️? EARTH FOREVER OUR HOME ?☢️⌛️? Jesus Christ in his famous Sermon on the Mount said: “Happy are the mild-tempered, since they will inherit the earth.” (Matthew 5:5) Later in that same sermon, Jesus revealed the means by which the earth would be rescued from ruin. He instructed his followers to pray: “Let your Kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also on earth.” Yes, God’s Kingdom, or government, will accomplish God’s purpose for the earth.—Matthew 6:10. ☢️?⌛️? 18. “Even if a man takes a false step before he is aware of it, you who have spiritual qualifications try to readjust such a man in a spirit of mildness.” (Gal. 6:1) ??? It is not easy to accept counsel from an imperfect human, no matter how tactfully and lovingly the counsel is presented. Yet, as Galatians 6:1 points out, Jehovah commands those with spiritual qualifications to “try” to adjust us, doing so “in a spirit of mildness.” If we respond favorably, we will become even more desirable in God’s sight. ??? Curiously, when we pray, we freely admit that we are imperfect. However, when someone draws a specific failing to our attention, the tendency is to try to justify ourselves, minimize the problem, question the motive of the counselor, or object to the way in which the counsel was delivered. (2 Ki. 5:11) And if the counsel touches a particularly sensitive area—the actions of a family member, our dress and grooming, our personal hygiene, or a form of recreation that we enjoy but that Jehovah hates—we might react quite negatively, to our own surprise and to our counselor’s dismay! But after we calm down, we usually concede that the counsel was appropriate. ??? https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2011526?q=gal+6%3A1&p=par
  19. "All those who sinned under law will be judged by law." (Rom. 2:12) ??‍⚖️???‍⚖️ “Quit being fashioned after this system of things, but be transformed by making your mind over, that you may prove to yourselves the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2) Instead of allowing the spirit of the world to shape their thinking, they needed to make their minds over to Christ’s way of thinking. (1 Corinthians 2:16; Philippians 2:5) ??‍⚖️???‍⚖️ That principle should influence the day-to-day behavior of all genuine Christians, including us today. ??‍⚖️???‍⚖️ We refrain from returning evil for evil not only because it is the right course but also because it is the loving course. Note how the apostle Paul next considers the motive of love. In the book of Romans, Paul uses the word “love” (a·gaʹpe in Greek) several times when referring to God’s love and that of Christ. (Romans 5:5, 8; 8:35, 39) ??‍⚖️???‍⚖️ However, in chapter 12, Paul uses a·gaʹpe in a different way—in speaking about love shown to fellow humans. After noting that spiritual gifts vary and are present among some believers, Paul mentions a quality that should be cultivated by all Christians. He states: “Let your love be without hypocrisy.” (Romans 12:4-9) Showing love to others is a basic mark of true Christians. (Mark 12:28-31) ??‍⚖️???‍⚖️ Taking vengeance on an enemy would likely harden his spirit, but treating him with kindness may soften his heart. Why? Note Paul’s words to the Christians in Rome. He says: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by doing this you will heap fiery coals upon his head.” (Romans 12:20; Proverbs 25:21, 22) ??‍⚖️???‍⚖️ First, holding back from retaliating is the right course to follow. In view of God’s compassion shown toward us, it is right and reasonable that we offer ourselves to Jehovah and willingly obey his commandments—including the command to love our enemies. ??‍⚖️???‍⚖️ Second, refusing to return evil for evil is the loving course to follow. By forgoing retaliation and promoting peace, we lovingly hope to help even some fierce opposers to become worshippers of Jehovah. ??‍⚖️???‍⚖️ Third, refraining from repaying with evil is the modest course to follow. Avenging ourselves would be presumptuous, for Jehovah states: “Vengeance is mine.” God’s Word also warns: “Has presumptuousness come? Then dishonor will come; but wisdom is with the modest ones.” (Proverbs 11:2) Wisely leaving the avenging of wrong in God’s hands shows modesty on our part. ??‍⚖️???‍⚖️ https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2007484?q=rom+12%3A2&p=par
  20. Let your relatives see in you an example of Christian living. "They spoke the word of Jehovah to him together with all those in his house." (Acts 16:32)
  21. "No man that has put his hand to a plow and looks at the things behind is well fitted for the kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62) ????? Plowing Plowing was often done in the autumn when rains softened soil that had been baked hard by the sun during the hot summer months. (See App. B15.) Some plows consisted of a simple pointed piece of wood, perhaps metal-tipped, attached to a beam and pulled by one or more animals. After the soil was plowed, the seed was sown. In the Hebrew Scriptures, the familiar work of plowing was often alluded to in illustrations. (Jg 14:18; Isa 2:4; Jer 4:3;Mic 4:3) ????? Jesus frequently used agricultural activities to illustrate important teachings. For example, he referred to the work involved in plowing to emphasize the importance of being a wholehearted disciple. (Lu 9:62) If a plowman became distracted from the work at hand, he would make crooked furrows. Similarly, a disciple of Christ who gets distracted or turns aside from carrying out his responsibilities becomes unfit for God’s Kingdom. ????? https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1001072089?q=luke+9%3A62&p=par
  22. "My instruction will drip . . . as gentle rains upon grass." (Deut. 32:2) ??????? Is Your Ministry Like The Dew? OUR ministry is important and valuable. But not everyone we preach to understands this. Even if people are interested in what the Bible says, they do not always feel that it is necessary to study God’s Word with us. ??????? Dew is gentle. Dew forms gradually as moisture in the air turns into small drops of water. How did Jehovah’s words “trickle as the dew”? He spoke to his people in a kind, gentle, and caring way. We imitate him when we show respect for what others believe. We encourage them to reason for themselves and make their own decisions. When we show such personal interest, people will be more willing to accept what we say, and our ministry will be more effective. ??????? Dew is refreshing. Our ministry will refresh others when we think of different ways to help them learn more about the truth. A brother named Chris, who first offered Gavin a Bible study, did not try to pressure him to accept it. Instead, he tried to find different ways to make Gavin feel more comfortable with discussing the Bible. Chris told Gavin that there is an important message discussed throughout the Bible and that learning about this message would help him understand the meetings better. Then, Chris explained that Bible prophecy convinced him personally that the Bible is true. As a result, they had many discussions about how prophecies were fulfilled. These conversations refreshed Gavin, and he finally accepted a Bible study. ??????? Dew is vital to life. During the hot, dry season in Israel, it may not rain for several months. Without the moisture that dew provides, plants become dry and die. Jehovah foretold that in our day it would be as if there were a drought, that is, people would be thirsty “for hearing the words of Jehovah.” (Amos 8:11) He promised that anointed ones would be “like dew from Jehovah” as they preached the good news of the Kingdom, supported by the “other sheep.” (Micah 5:7; John 10:16) The message we preach is part of Jehovah’s provision to give life to those who thirst for the truth. Do we value this message? ??????? Dew is a blessing from Jehovah. (Deuteronomy 33:13) Our ministry can be a blessing, or a gift, to those who respond. A Bible study was a blessing because it helped to find answers to questions. He made quick progress, was baptized, and now enjoys preaching the good news of the Kingdom Will Give you joy and refreshment even to your self. Jehovah gives the blessings we just make the efforts! Simple
  23. Jehovah Blesses and Protects Those Who Are Obedient ???????? Listen, Obey Be Blessed! “As for the one listening to me, he will reside in security and be undisturbed from dread of calamity.” (Proverbs 1:33) ???????? THE fluffy, yellow hatchlings are busily pecking for food in the short grass, totally unaware of a hawk hovering high above. Suddenly, the mother hen gives a tremulous, high-pitched warning call and spreads her wings. Her chicks run to her, and in seconds they are safely concealed beneath her pinions. The hawk aborts its attack.* The lesson? Obedience saves lives! ????? That lesson is especially important to Christians today, for Satan is making an all-out effort to prey on God’s people. (Revelation 12:9, 12, 17) ????? His goal is to destroy our spirituality so that we lose Jehovah’s favor and the prospect of everlasting life. (1 Peter 5:8) ????? However, if we stay close to God and respond swiftly to the direction we receive through his Word and organization, we can be assured of his protective care. “With his pinions he will block approach to you, and under his wings you will take refuge,” wrote the psalmist. (Psalm 91:4) ???????? Obedience Instills Hope Those who make obedience to Jehovah their way of life experience even now the fulfillment of Proverbs 1:33, which says: “As for the one listening [obediently] to me, he will reside in security and be undisturbed from dread of calamity.” ???????? How marvelously these comforting words will apply during Jehovah’s coming day of vengeance! In fact, Jesus told his disciples: “As these things start to occur, raise yourselves erect and lift your heads up, because your deliverance is getting near.” (Luke 21:28) ???????? Clearly, only those obedient to God will have the confidence to heed these words. (Matthew 7:21)
  24. "His enemy came and oversewed weeds in among the wheat."—Matt. 13:25. ???? One of Jesus’ illustrations focuses on the gathering of those who will rule with Jesus in his Kingdom. This is often called the parable of the wheat and the weeds and is recorded in Matthew chapter 13. ???? Whereas in another illustration, Jesus tells us that the seed that is sown is “the word of the kingdom,” in this illustration, he tells us that the fine seed represents something different—“the sons of the kingdom.” (Matt. 13:19, 38) These are not subjects of the Kingdom but, rather, “sons,” or heirs, of the Kingdom. ???? Who is the man who sowed the fine seed in his field? Jesus provides the answer later when he explains to his disciples: “The sower of the fine seed is the Son of man.” (Matt. 13:37) Jesus, the “Son of man,” prepared the field for planting during the three and a half years of his earthly ministry. (Matt. 8:20; 25:31;26:64) Then from Pentecost 33 C.E. onward, he started to sow the fine seed—“the sons of the kingdom.” This sowing evidently took place when Jesus, as Jehovah’s representative, began to pour out holy spirit upon the disciples, thereby anointing them as God’s sons.*(Acts 2:33) The fine seed developed into mature wheat. So the objective in sowing the fine seed was eventually to gather the full number of those who would become joint heirs and rulers with Jesus in his Kingdom. ???? Who is the enemy in the illustration, and who are pictured by the weeds? ???? Who is the enemy, and who are the weeds? Jesus tells us that the enemy “is the Devil.” The weeds are described as “the sons of the wicked one.” (Matt. 13:25, 38, 39) In a literal sense, the weeds that Jesus referred to were probably the bearded darnel. This poisonous plant closely resembles wheat in its early stages before it reaches maturity. What a fitting picture of imitation Christians, those who claim to be sons of the Kingdom but do not produce genuine fruitage! These hypocritical Christians who claim to be followers of Christ are really part of the “seed” of Satan the Devil.—Gen. 3:15. ???? When did the weeds start to appear, and how were men “sleeping” at the time? ???? When did these weedlike Christians appear? “While men were sleeping,” says Jesus. (Matt. 13:25) When was this? We find the answer in the apostle Paul’s words to the Ephesian elders: “I know that after my going away oppressive wolves will enter in among you and will not treat the flock with tenderness, and from among you yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves.” (Acts 20:29, 30) He went on to admonish those elders to keep awake spiritually. After the apostles, who acted as “a restraint” against the apostasy, began falling asleep in death, many Christians fell asleep spiritually. (Read 2 Thessalonians 2:3, 6-8.) That is when the great apostasy started. ???? “Let Both Grow Together Until the Harvest” ???? The Master’s slaves inform him of the problem and ask: “Do you want us, then, to go out and collect [the weeds]?” (Matt. 13:27, 28) His answer may seem surprising. He tells them to allow the wheat and the weeds to grow together until the time of the harvest. That command would make sense to Jesus’ disciples. They would realize just how difficult it is to distinguish wheat from darnel weed. Those with some agricultural experience would also realize that the bearded darnel’s root system usually intertwines with that of the wheat.* No wonder the Master instructs them to wait! ???? In a similar way, down through the centuries, the various sects of Christendom have produced a bumper crop of weeds—first among the Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches and later among the numerous Protestant groups that sprang up. At the same time, a few seeds of the genuine wheat were sown in the world field. The householder in the illustration waited patiently during the extended growing time until the relatively shorter harvesttime would arrive. ???? Jesus tells us: “The harvest is a conclusion of a system of things, and the reapers are angels.” (Matt. 13:39) During the last days of this wicked system of things, a separating takes place—the sons of the Kingdom are to be gathered and separated from any weedlike ones. ???? https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2010201?q=matt 13:25&p=par
