  1. Rahab and her family being rescued out of Jericho Digital art ??‍??? Anonymous (I did not paint it) This is a beautiful illustration depicting the moment when Rahab was rescued along with her family due to her obediently following the instruction of the Hebrew spies. Notice the color harmonies of the elements as well as the unifying effect of color due to the color of the light source. Also, notice the simplified yet effective treatment of the background elements. The aerial perspective allows the viewer focus on the main characters while creating an illusion of depth from the background. #edsalazarfineart #societyartwork #jw #tg #illustration

  5. Young People Ask Should I Play Electronic Games? Their Dark Side! ?⚫️?⚫️?⚫️? Many games blatantly promote immorality, profanity, and violence—all condemned by the Bible. (Psalm 11:5; Galatians 5:19-21;Colossians 3:8) ?⚫️?⚫️? Some games glorify occult practices. Adrian, 18, describes one popular game as featuring “gang wars, drug use, explicit sexual content, foul language, intense violence, blood, and gore.” And each new release seems to make previous games look tame in comparison. James, 19, says that the most popular of these games can be played live on the Internet. This ability takes gaming to a whole new level. “From your home computer,” says James, “you can challenge people who live on the other side of the world.” ?⚫️?⚫️? Role-playing games have become hugely popular. In these, participants create online characters—whether human, animal, or a blend of both—that inhabit a computer-generated world populated by thousands of other players. This online world contains shops, cars, homes, dance clubs, brothels—in essence, it is a replica of the real world. The players in these games are able to instant message one another as their computer-generated characters, called avatars, interact. ?⚫️?⚫️? What goes on in those virtual worlds? “Ordinary people indulge in activities they never would, or could, do in real life,” says one journalist. He adds: “Sex is commonplace, as is prostitution.” Just by pressing a few buttons, the players can make their avatars engage in sex acts while the real-world participants talk about sex via instant messaging. In addition, those worlds are “full of virtual crimes, Mafia men, pimps, extortionists, counterfeiters and assassins,” says the journal New Scientist. Another magazine reports that “critics have raised concerns about activities that would be illegal in the real world, such as the brothel that features rape fantasies, or people who indulge in sex acts using avatars that resemble children.” ?⚫️?⚫️? ▪ Will my choice offend Jehovah? The type of game you choose can affect the way God feels about you. “Jehovah himself examines the righteous one as well as the wicked one, and anyone loving violence His soul certainly hates,” states Psalm 11:5. Regarding those who engage in occult practices, God’s Word says: “Everybody doing these things is something detestable to Jehovah.” (Deuteronomy 18:10-12) If we want to be friends of God, we need to follow the advice at Psalm 97:10: “You lovers of Jehovah, hate what is bad.” ?⚫️?⚫️? ▪ How will the game affect my thinking? Ask yourself, ‘Will playing this game make it easier or harder for me to “flee from fornication”?’ (1 Corinthians 6:18) Games that expose you to sexually arousing images or conversations will not help you to keep your mind on things that are righteous, chaste, and virtuous. (Philippians 4:8) Amy, 22, says: “Many games desensitize you to things like violence, foul language, and immorality and can cause you to let down your guard in other aspects of life. You have to be very careful what you choose to play.” ?⚫️?⚫️? ▪ How much time will I spend playing the game? Deborah, 18, says: “I don’t think all computer games are bad. But they can be very time-consuming, almost addictive.” Even the most innocent electronic games can consume a lot of time. So keep a log of how much time you spend gaming and then compare that with the amount of time you spend in other more essential activities. Doing so will help you to keep your priorities in order.—Ephesians 5:15, 16. ?⚫️?⚫️? The Bible doesn’t require that you spend your whole life studying or working. It reminds all of us that there is “a time to laugh . . . and a time to skip about.” (Ecclesiastes 3:4) It is worth noting that the expression “to skip about” implies not only play but also physical activity. So why not use some of your free time to play games that involve physical activity instead of limiting yourself to sitting in front of a computer screen? ?⚫️?⚫️? https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/102008006?q=ps+11%3A5&p=par
  6. "The earth will be shaken out of its place At the fury of Jehovah of armies in the day of his burning anger." (Isa.13:13). ????? Babylon is not yet the dominant world power. Yet, issuing a proclamation through Isaiah, Jehovah looks to the time when she will occupy that position, and he foretells her fall. He says: “Howl, you people, for the day of Jehovah is near! As a despoiling from the Almighty it will come.” (Isaiah 13:6) ????? Yes, Babylon’s boasting will be replaced by grief-filled howling. Why? Because of “the day of Jehovah,” the day when Jehovah executes judgment against her. ????? Jehovah says: “I shall certainly bring home its own badness upon the productive land, and their own error upon the wicked themselves. And I shall actually cause the pride of the presumptuous ones to cease, and the haughtiness of the tyrants I shall abase.” (Isaiah 13:11) ????? The outpouring of Jehovah’s wrath will be punishment for Babylon’s cruelty to God’s people. The whole land will suffer because of the badness of the Babylonians. No longer will these proud tyrants openly defy Jehovah! ????? Jehovah says: “I shall make mortal man rarer than refined gold, and earthling man rarer than the gold of Ophir.” (Isaiah 13:12) ????? Yes, the city will come to be depopulated, waste. Jehovah continues: “That is why I shall cause heaven itself to become agitated, and the earth will rock out of its place at the fury of Jehovah of armies and at the day of his burning anger.” (Isaiah 13:13) ????? Babylon’s “heaven,” her multitude of gods and goddesses, will be agitated, unable to help the city in its time of need. “The earth,” the Babylonian Empire, will be rocked out of place, passing into history as just another dead empire. “It must occur that, like a gazelle chased away and like a flock without anyone to collect them together, they will turn, each one to his own people; and they will flee, each one to his own land.” (Isaiah 13:14) ????? Jehovah says: “Down to Sheol you will be brought, to the remotest parts of the pit. Those seeing you will gaze even at you; they will give close examination even to you, saying, ‘Is this the man that was agitating the earth, that was making kingdoms rock, that made the productive land like the wilderness and that overthrew its very cities, that did not open the way homeward even for his prisoners?’” (Isaiah 14:15-17) The ambitious dynasty will come down to Hades (Sheol), just like any human. ????? https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1102000034?q=isa+13%3A13&p=par

  8. "You are my friends if you do what I am commanding you." John 15:14 ??????? While Jesus was friendly toward people in general, he was a close friend only to those who met specific requirements, such as his 11 faithful apostles. (John 13:27, 30) The only individuals whom Jesus embraced as friends were those who followed him and served Jehovah. ??????? Hence, when you consider whether you should choose a certain individual as a close friend or not, it would be wise to keep Jesus’ statement in mind. Ask yourself such questions as: ‘Does this individual demonstrate in words and deeds that he is obeying the commands of Jehovah and Jesus? Does he have the same Bible-based values and morals that I have? Will being in his company encourage me to put the Kingdom first in my life and to be a loyal servant of Jehovah?’ If you are sure that the answers to those questions are yes, you have found a good companion with whom to enjoy your leisure activities.—Ps. 119:63; 2 Cor. 6:14; 2 Tim. 2:22. ??????? w11 10/15 1:14, 15
  9. Pray Until Something Happens ! EXPERIENCE WE CAN RISE UP WITH JEHOVAH ❤ ??????? A man was sleeping at night in his cabin when suddenly in his dreams his room filled with light and Jehovah appeared. Then Jehovah told the man he had work for him to do, and showed him a large rock in front of his cabin. Then Jehovah explained that the man was to push against the rock with all his might. ??????? This the man did, day after day. For many years he toiled from sun up to sun down, his shoulders set squarely against the cold, massive surface of the unmoving rock, pushing with all his might. ??????? Each night the man returned to his cabin sore, and worn out, feeling that his whole day had been spent in vain. ??????? Seeing that the man was showing signs of discouragement, the Adversary Satan decided to enter the picture by placing thoughts into the man's weary mind: "You have been pushing against this rock for a long time, and it hasn't budged. Why kill yourself over this? You are never going to move it." Thus giving the man the impression that the task was impossible and that he was a failure. These thoughts discouraged and disheartened the man. "Why kill myself over this?" he thought. "I'll just put in my time, giving just the minimum effort and that will be goodenough." ??????? And that is what he planned to do until one day he decided to make it a matter of prayer and take his troubled thoughts to Jehovah. "Jehovah," he said, "I have labored long and hard in your service, putting all my strength to do that which you have asked. Yet, after all this time, I have not even budged that rock by half a millimeter. What is wrong? Why am I failing?" Then Jehovah responded compassionately, "My friend, when I asked you to serve, and you accepted, I told you that your task was to push against the rock with all your strength, which you have done. Never once did I mention to you that I expected you to move it. Your task was to push. ??????? And now you come to me, with your strength spent, thinking that you have failed. But, is that really so? ??????? Look at yourself. Your arms are strong and muscular, your back sinewy and brown, your hands are callused from constant pressure, and your legs have become massive and hard. - contributed

  11. "For dust you are and to dust you will return.” (Genesis 3:19). ⚰️⚖️? God told Adam: “Dust you are and to dust you will return.”—GENESIS 3:19. ⚰️⚖️? Humans are made from dust. (Genesis 2:7; 3:19) We are not spirits living in a body of flesh. We are physical creatures, so no part of us survives death. When we die, our brain dies too, and our thoughts perish. Thus, Lazarus said nothing about his experience of death because the dead are unconscious.—Read Psalm 146:4;Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6, 10. ⚰️⚖️? Does God torment people with fire after death? Since the Bible shows that the dead are unconscious, hellfire is clearly a false teaching that slanders God. The very idea of tormenting people with fire disgusts him.—Read Jeremiah 7:31. ⚰️⚖️? Consistent with laws of genetic inheritance, their offspring could receive only what their parents themselves possessed. And what was that? It was imperfection and death. The apostle Paul therefore wrote: “Through one man [Adam] sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned.”—Romans 5:12. ⚰️⚖️? 18 "I, even I, have said in my heart with regard to the sons of mankind that the [true] God is going to select them, that they may see that they themselves are beasts.19 "For there is an eventuality as respects the sons of mankind and an eventuality as respects the beast, and they have the same eventuality. As the one dies,so the other dies; and they all have but one spirit, so that there is no superiority of the man over the beast, for everything is vanity. 20 All are going to one place. They have all come to be from the dust, and they are all returning to the dust."(Ecc.3:18-20). ⚰️⚖️? 4 When Jehovah created the first man, Adam, He gave him something very precious. He gave Adam perfect human life. He had a perfect mind and a perfect body. He would never get sick, would never grow old, and would never die. Because Jehovah created Adam, He was like a father to him. (Luke 3:38) Jehovah regularly talked to him. God clearly explained to Adam what he expected from him and gave him enjoyable work to do.—Genesis 1:28-30;2:16, 17. ⚰️⚖️? When he disobeyed God and was sentenced to death, Adam paid a very high price. He lost his special friendship with Jehovah, his perfect life, and his Paradise home. (Genesis 3:17-19) Adam and Eve chose to disobey God, so there was no hope for them. Because of what Adam did, “sin entered into the world and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because they had all sinned.” (Romans 5:12) When Adam sinned, he “sold” himself and us into slavery to sin and death. (Romans 7:14) Is there any hope for us? Yes, there is. ⚰️⚖️? No human could pay for the enormous damage that Adam did when he sinned and brought death upon us. But Jehovah provided the way to free us from sin and death. ⚰️⚖️? Jehovah sent his most precious Son to the earth. This Son, Jesus, was his very first creation. (1 John 4:9, 10) Jesus was willing to leave his Father and his home in heaven. (Philippians 2:7) Jehovah transferred Jesus from heaven to earth, and Jesus was born as a perfect human, without sin.—Luke 1:35. ⚰️⚖️? SUMMARY TRUTH 1: WE ALL NEED THE RANSOM “The Son of man came . . . to give his life as a ransom in exchange for many.”—Matthew 20:28 Why do we need the ransom? TRUTH 2: JEHOVAH PROVIDED THE RANSOM “God sent his only-begotten Son into the world so that we might gain life through him.”—1 John 4:9 How did Jehovah provide the ransom? TRUTH 3: THE RANSOM GIVES US REAL HOPE “He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more.”—Revelation 21:4 How can we benefit from the ransom? TRUTH 4: WE NEED TO ACCEPT THE RANSOM “God . . . gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone exercising faith in him might . . . have everlasting life.”—John 3:16 How can we show we are grateful for God’s gift of the ransom? 12. SONG 3 Our Strength, Our Hope, Our Confidence Song 3 Sing ? to Jehovah! ???? ? (Proverbs 14:26) 1.O Jehovah, you have given us a hope that we hold dear. It’s a hope we find so thrilling we want the world to hear. But at times this life’s anxieties are the cause of fears within, And the hope that burned so brightly has suddenly grown dim. (CHORUS) You’re our strength, you’re our hope, you’re our confidence. Whatever we lack, you supply. When we preach, when we teach, we have confidence because it’s on you we rely. 2.So Jehovah, please instill in us a heart that won’t forget, For you’ve always been our comfort when troubled times we’ve met. And these thoughts that lift and strengthen us can revive that dying flame, For they fill our hearts with courage to speak about your name. (CHORUS) You’re our strength, you’re our hope, you’re our confidence. Whatever we lack, you supply. When we preach, when we teach, we have confidence because it’s on you we rely. (See also Ps. 72:13, 14; Prov. 3:5, 6, 26; Jer. 17:7.) 2 Pictures 1 GIF 1 Moving IMG_6840.mov
  13. "Hope in Jehovah; Be courageous and strong of heart. Yes, hope in Jehovah."(Ps.27:14) H•O•P•E HOPE - Do You Have Hope? - What Does Hope Really Mean? It can mean trust, reliance; desire accompanied with expectation of what is desired or belief that it is attainable; one on whom hopes are centered; a source of hopeful expectation, or promise; something that is hoped for, or an object of hope. No Real Hope Without God. H•O•P•E True hope, as spoken of in the Bible, is superior to mere desire, which may have no foundation or prospect of fulfillment. It is also better than mere expectation, because that which is expected is not always desirable. H•O•P•E The Bible shows that the people of the world in general have no real, solidly based hope; mankind is going into death, and without knowledge of a provision from a higher source there is no hope in what lies ahead. Solomon expressed the futility of man’s situation without God’s intervention as “the greatest vanity! . . . Everything is vanity.” H•O•P•E The Source of Hope. Jehovah God is the Source of true hope and the One able to fulfill all his promises and the hopes of those trusting in him. It is through his undeserved kindness that he has given mankind “comfort and good hope.” H•O•P•E It is closely allied with the greatest quality, love, for one having the true love of God will also have hope in all of God’s promises. 15. "There is no searching out of [Jehovah’s] understanding."— (Isa. 40:28) ??? JEHOVAH is ‘the God who supplies comfort.’ One way that he comforts us is through the promises he has had recorded in his Word. (Romans 15:4, 5) ??? For example, when faced with the death of someone dear to you, what could be more comforting than the prospect of that loved one’s being resurrected in God’s new world? (John 5:28, 29) ??? And what about Jehovah’s promise that he will soon end wickedness and transform this earth into a paradise? Is it not comforting to have the prospect of surviving into that coming Paradise and never dying?—Psalm 37:9-11, 29; Revelation 21:3-5. ??? Why can we trust the promises of God? ??? Can we really trust the promises of God? Indeed, we can! The Maker of those promises is completely reliable. He has both the capability and the will to carry out his word. (Isaiah 55:10, 11) ??? This was powerfully can strengthen our faith in Jehovah, the Fulfiller of promises. ??? At Isaiah 40:28, the expression “time indefinite” means “forever,” for Jehovah is “the King of eternity.”—1 Timothy 1:17. ??? https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1102000050?q=isa+40%3A28&p=par

  17. 8 O Jehovah our Lord, how majestic your name is throughout the earth; You have set your splendor even higher than the heavens!" (Psalms 8:1). ???? Personal qualities revealed in creation. Certain facets of Jehovah’s personality are revealed by his creative works even prior to his creation of man. (Ro 1:20) The very act of creation reveals his love. This is because Jehovah is self-contained, lacking nothing. Hence, although he created hundreds of millions of spirit sons, not one could add anything to his knowledge or contribute some desirable quality of emotion or personality that He did not already possess in superior degree.—Da 7:9, 10; Heb 12:22; Isa 40:13, 14;Ro 11:33, 34. ???? Jehovah also finds pleasure in the exercise of his powers, whether in creation or otherwise, his works always having a real purpose and a good motive. (Ps 135:3-6; Isa 46:10, 11; 55:10, 11) As the Generous Giver of “every good gift and every perfect present,” he takes delight in rewarding his faithful sons and daughters with blessings. (Jas 1:5, 17; Ps 35:27; 84:11, 12; 149:4) Yet, though he is a God of warmth and feeling, his happiness is clearly not dependent upon his creatures, nor does he sacrifice righteous principles for sentimentality. ???? https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1200002391?q=ps+8%3A1&p=par
  18. “Love never fails."—1 Cor. 13:8. “You Must Love Your Neighbor as Yourself” ??? “The second [commandment] is this: ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’”—MATT. 22:39. ??? Follow the Golden Rule. This rule is expressed in these words spoken by Jesus during his Sermon on the Mount: “All things . . . that you want men to do to you, you also must do to them. This, in fact, is what the Law and the Prophets mean.” (Matt. 7:12) When we treat others as Jesus counseled, we act in harmony with the spirit behind “the Law” (Genesis through Deuteronomy) and “the Prophets” (the prophetic books of the Hebrew Scriptures). From such writings it is clear that God blesses those who show love for others. Through Isaiah, for instance, Jehovah said: “Uphold justice, and do what is righteous . . . Happy is the man who does this.” (Isa. 56:1, 2) We are indeed blessed because we act in a loving and righteous manner toward our neighbor. ??? https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2014446?q=1+cor+13%3A8&p=par
  19. Providing Care for the Elderly “Little children, we should love, not in word or with the tongue, but in deed and truth.”—1 JOHN 3:18. ????? IT CAN be very painful to realize that your parents, who used to be strong and independent, can no longer take care of themselves. You may hear that Mom or Dad has fallen and broken a hip, has become confused and wandered off, or has been diagnosed with a serious illness. On the other hand, it can also be painful for older ones to accept changes in their health or circumstances, especially when this limits their independence. (Job 14:1) What can we do to help? How can they be cared for? ????? The responsibilities of caring for your aging parents can be complicated and emotionally difficult. When caring for the elderly, there is no set of solutions that will work for everyone. Yet, if you plan carefully, cooperate with your family, communicate well and, most of all, pray to Jehovah, you can fulfill your responsibility to honor your loved ones. When you do this, you can be proud because you are giving them the care and attention they need. (Read 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.) Most important, you will have peace of mind and Jehovah’s blessing.—Philippians 4:7. ????? https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/402014207?q=elderly+parents&p=par
  20. 21 “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of the heavens, but only the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will." (Matthew 7:21). ????? Go in through the narrow gate: In ancient times, roadways with gates were the means of entry into walled cities. The Bible uses such expressions as road or “path” or “way” to describe people’s life course and conduct. ??? The image of two contrasting roads pictures life courses that are either approved or disapproved by God, determining whether an individual gains entry into God’s Kingdom.—Ps 1:1, 6; Jer 21:8; Mt 7:21. ????? https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1001070607?q=matt+7%3A21&p=par
