    THE HOPE OF THE RESURRECTION

The devil can not prevent the resurrection of those in Jehovah's memory.

16 "At that time those who fear Jehovah spoke with one another, each one with his companion, and Jehovah kept paying attention and listening. And a book of remembrance was written before himfor those fearing Jehovah and for those meditating on his name. (Mal 3:16)

28 "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice"

29 "and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment." (John 6:28,29)

15 "And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous."      (Acts 24:15)

  2. (Russia) Pyotr Krivokulsky remembers the summer of 1945 when the brothers were tried and sent to various camps. "In the camp where I was, many prisoners showed an interest in the truth. One prisoner, a clergyman, quickly understood the truth and took his stand for Jehovah." Nevertheless, conditions were harsh. "One inspector told me: ‘Your Jehovah won’t free you from here.’ My daily ration was 10 ounces of bread and a cup of water. I repeatedly asked Jehovah to give me the strength to endure.

(Jer. 15:15) The labor camp court sentenced me to ten years of maximum-security for ‘agitation and propaganda against Soviet authority.’ I was told that if I didn’t renounce my faith, these [criminals] would do anything to me that they were told to do. I weighed only 80 pounds and could barely walk. But even there, I was able to find ones who were favorably disposed toward the truth. Once when praying, an elderly man approached me and asked, ‘What did you do to end up in this hell?’

Learning that I was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, he sat down, embraced me, and kissed me. Then he said: ‘Sonny, I have wanted to learn about the Bible for so long! Will you please teach me?’ My happiness knew no bounds. I had sewed several old scraps from the Gospels into my tattered clothes, so I immediately pulled them out. His eyes filled with tears. He told me that he worked in the camp’s mess hall and that he would feed me. He grew spiritually, and I gained strength.

I was sure that Jehovah had made this arrangement. After a few months, he was set free, and I was taken to another camp where conditions were much better. I was happy to be conducting Bible studies with four prisoners. In 1952 the camp foremen found us with literature. When our sentences were read, none of my Bible students panicked. I was so happy about that! All four of us were sentenced to 25 years in the camps. I got an extra 25 years in a maximum-security camp and 10 years in exile.

Leaving the room, we thanked Jehovah for supporting us. The guards were astonished, wondering what we were happy about. We were split up and sent to different camps while I was sent to the maximum-security camp in Vorkuta.” (2008 Yearbook)

  3. "He was raised up."—Matt. 28:6.

24 "But on the first day of the week, they came very early to the tomb, bringing the spices they had prepared.

2 But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb,

3 and when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

4 While they were perplexed about this, look! two men in shining garments stood by them.

5 The women became frightened and kept their faces turned toward the ground, so the men said to them: “Why are you looking for the living one among the dead?

6 He is not here, but has been raised up. Recall how he spoke to you while he was yet in Galʹi·lee,

7 saying that the Son of man must be handed over to sinful men and be executed on the stake and on the third day rise.”

8 Then they remembered his words,

9 and they returned from the tomb and reported all these things to the Eleven and to all the rest.

10 They were Mary Magʹda·lene, Jo·anʹna, and Mary the mother of James. Also, the rest of the women with them were telling these things to the apostles.

11  However, these sayings seemed like nonsense to them, and they would not believe the women.

12  But Peter got up and ran to the tomb, and stooping forward, he saw only the linen cloths. So he went off, wondering to himself what had occurred." (Luke24:1-12)

    "Él fue resucitado." - Matt. 28: 6.

"(Lucas 24: 1-12)

  4. (Russia) After attending meetings of Jehovah's witnesses, my Ukrainian friends with whom I had been taken to Germany, began to hate me for associating with Germans. Once, one of them yelled at me and then hit me across the face. My former girlfriends began to laugh. After being freed in 1945, I returned to Ukraine. My grandfather said: "Your mama has lost her mind. She has thrown away her icons, and now she has some other God."

When we were left to ourselves, Mama took out a Bible and read from it that God hates idolatry. She then told me that she was attending the meetings of Jehovah's Witnesses. I threw mv arms around her neck and with tears in my eyes, quietly said, "Dear Mama, I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses too!" We both cried for joy.

Mama was very zealous in the ministry. Since almost all the brothers were imprisoned in camps, she was appointed as the group servant. Her zeal infected me as well. In 1950, I was arrested for religious activities, and the court sentenced me to ten years of camp imprisonment.

Five of us sisters were taken to the town of Usol'ye- Sibirskoye, in Siberia. From April 1951, we worked in railroad construction. We carried heavy railroad ties on our shoulders, two of us to a tie. With our own hands, we also moved and laid 11-yard-long metal tracks that weighed 700 pounds each.

We would get very tired. Once when we were going home exhausted from work, a train full of prisoners pulled up and stopped next to us.

A man looking through the window asked, "Girls, are there any Jehovah's Witnesses among you?" Our fatigue vanished. "Here are five sisters!" we yelled. The prisoners were our dear brothers and sisters who had been exiled from Ukraine. While the train stood still, they excitedly told us what had happened and how they had been exiled. Then the children recited to us poems that the brothers themselves had written. Not even the soldiers disturbed us, and we were able to associate with and encourage one another.

From Usol'ye-Sibirskoye, we were transferred to a large camp near Angarsk. There were 22 sisters there. They had organized everything, including territories for preaching. This helped us to survive spiritually. (2008 Yearbook)

  6. 62 "The next day, which was after the Preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered together before Pilate, 63 saying: “Sir, we recall what that impostor said while he was still alive, ‘After three days I am to be raised up.’ 64 "Therefore, command that the grave be made secure until the third day, so that his disciples may not come and steal him and say to the people, ‘He was raised up from the dead!’ Then this last deception will be worse than the first.” 65 "Pilate said to them: “You may have a guard. Go make it as secure as you know how.” 66 "So they went and made the grave secure by sealing the stone and posting a guard."

  8. GLANCING-BLOW CME: A magnetic filament on the sun exploded on April 9th, hurling a gaseous coronal mass ejection (CME) into space. The bulk of the CME will miss Earth; nevertheless a glancing blow to Earth's magnetic field is possible this weekend. The impact, if it occurs, could cause magnetic disturbances and auroras around our planet's poles.

As northern spring unfolds, polar twilight is bumping up against auroras around the Arctic Circle. Charlie McCormack sends this picture of the two vying for attention over Reykjavik, Iceland.

Thank you Jehovah we are in awe of your beautiful works! ?

    (Luke 22:20)

    •         1. Today, Jehovah God,
      we stand before your throne,
For you showed the greatest love
      that could ever be shown.
You gave the gift of your dear Son,
      that we might live.
      No greater sacrifice than this
      could you ever give.
      (CHORUS)
He gave his life to set us free.
His precious blood provides the key.
      With all our hearts,
we’ll go on thanking you eternally.
    •         2. It was a willing sacrifice
      that Jesus made.
Out of love, his perfect life
was the price that he paid.
We had no hope until he came
      to save mankind.
But now our hope is finding life,
      leaving death behind.
      (CHORUS)
He gave his life to set us free.
His precious blood provides the key.
      With all our hearts,
we’ll go on thanking you eternally.

@bruceq Possibly! The time is short and Satan and his hordes know it! Let it come. Jehovah will save his people. We are privileged to watch this unfold. It will be perfect timing by Jehovah! Thank you for your hard work. It's much appreciated.

    @bruceq A scriptural thought:

Jesus said to the religious Jews who opposed him: “You are from your father the Devil, and you wish to do the desires of yourfather. That one was a manslayer when he began, and he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him.” (Joh 8:44) This is evidence that it was the Devil who spoke through the instrumentality of the serpent, and that this one was a manslayer from thebeginning of his lying, devilish course. In thevision that Christ later gave to John, he revealed that Satan the Devil is also called “the original serpent.” (Re 12:9) Satan got his hold on mankind, gaining influence over Adam’s children, by inducing their father Adam to rebel against God. So in the first prophecy, of Genesis 3:15, Jehovah gave hope that this Serpent would be put out of the way. (Compare Ro 16:20.) Not only is Satan’s head to be crushed but also all of his works are to be broken up, destroyed, or undone. (1Jo 3:8; NW, KJ, AT) The fulfillment of this prophecy would of necessity require the undoing of the death introduced by Adam, including bringing back by a resurrection those of Adam’s offspring who go into Sheol (Hades) as a result of his sin, theeffects of which they inherit.—1Co 15:26

  11. "The ground of whose two kings you are feeling a sickening dread [Syria and Israel] will be left entirely."—Isa. 7:16.

    HIGHLIGHTS OF ISAIAH

Prophecies to stimulate Jehovah’s servants to fear him, not the surrounding nations, and to look to him, the true God, for deliverance, with full confidence in his promises of salvation and restoration

Directed to Judah and Jerusalem by Isaiah during the years leading up to Sennacherib’s unsuccessful efforts against Jerusalem in 732 B.C.E., and possibly some time afterward

The guilt of Judah and Jerusalem; Isaiah’s commission (1:1–6:13)

Jehovah does not look favorably upon the sacrifices of people guilty of oppression, injustice, and bloodshed

Though judgment is to be executed on faithless ones, in time the mountain of Jehovah’s house will be exalted and many people will turn to him

For Judah’s disobedience, Jehovah to remove essentials for sustaining life (bread and water) and the basis for social stability

Arrogant women, decked out in finery, to be forced to wear the attire of captives

Israel, as a vineyard, has failed to produce fruits of justice and righteousness

Isaiah’s lips are cleansed; he willingly responds to commission as prophet, to go to unresponsive people

Threatened enemy invasions and promise of relief (7:1–12:6)

Syro-Israelite effort to dethrone Ahaz to fail; confirmatory sign of Immanuel’s birth given

Isaiah’s son Maher-shalal-hash-baz to serve as sign that Damascus and Samaria will be ravaged by Assyria before the boy can say “My father!” and “My mother!”

Lasting relief to come by means of the Prince of Peace

Assyria, rod of Jehovah’s anger, to be punished for insolence; Jerusalem to be delivered

Twig out of stump of Jesse to become a ruler having God’s spirit, to rule in justice
