  2. ARE YOU LISTENING TO THE GREAT SHEPHERD CHRIST JESUS? HE IS PROTECTING THE SHEEP TODAY! HE HAS ONE FLOCK ~ THE LITTLE FLOCK ~ AND THE OTHER SHEEP. WHICH ARE YOU? ARE YOU HEEDING HIS WORDS OF PROTECTION FOR THE FLOCK? SHEEP ?????? One of the principal animals of pastoral life. Sheep are ruminants, or cud chewers. As is the case today, the predominant variety of ancient Palestine may have been the broad-tailed sheep, distinguished by its prominent fatty tail, generally weighing about 4.5 kg (10 lb) or more. Generally sheep were white in color (Ca 6:6), though there were also dark-brown and parti-colored ones. (Ge 30:32) In a pastoral society men of great wealth, such as Job, had thousands of sheep. (Job 1:3, 16; 42:12) The Israelites probably kept some lambs as pets.—2Sa 12:3; Jer 11:19. ?????? Without a shepherd, domestic sheep are helpless and fearful. They get lost and scattered and are at the complete mercy of their enemies. Sheep allow themselves to be led, and they faithfully follow their shepherd. They can learn to recognize his voice and to respond to him alone. By contrast, JesusÂ’ sheep, both the “little flock” and the “other sheep,” who follow his lead, are well cared for. Jesus compared those doing good toward the least of his brothers to sheep, whereas those refusing to do so he likened to goats. (Jeremiah 23:4) 4 And I will raise up over them shepherds who will actually shepherd them; and they will be afraid no more, neither will they be struck with any terror, and none will be missing,” is the utterance of Jehovah." ?????? (John 10:1-5) 10 “Most truly I say to YOU, He that does not enter into the sheepfold through the door but climbs up some other place, that one is a thief and a plunderer. 2 But he that enters through the door is shepherd of the sheep. 3 The doorkeeper opens to this one, and the sheep listen to his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has got all his own out, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, because they know his voice. 5 A stranger they will by no means follow but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers.” (John 10:4) - Bible Speaks

  5. A Woodcutter and his "axe" - A Story with a Lesson for All! ~ ???? ? Once upon a time, a very strong woodcutter asked for a job in a timber merchant and he got it. The pay was really good and so was the work condition. For those reasons, the woodcutter was determined to do his best. His boss gave him an axe and showed him the area where he supposed to work. The first day, the woodcutter brought 18 trees. “Congratulations,” the boss said. “Go on that way!” Very motivated by the boss words, the woodcutter tried harder the next day, but he could only bring 15 trees. The third day he tried even harder, but he could only bring 10 trees. Day after day he was bringing less and less trees. “I must be losing my strength”, the woodcutter thought. He went to the boss and apologized, saying that he could not understand what was going on. “When was the last time you sharpened your axe?” the boss asked. “Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my axe. I have been very busy trying to cut trees…” Reflection: Our lives are like that. We sometimes get so busy that we donÂ’t take time to sharpen the “axe”. In todayÂ’s world, it seems that everyone is busier than ever, but less happy that ever. Why is that? Could it be that we have forgotten how to stay “sharp”? ThereÂ’s nothing wrong with activity and hard work. But we should not get so busy that we neglect the truly important things in life, like our personal life, taking time to get close to our Creator, giving more time for our family, taking time to read etc. We all need time to relax, to think and meditate, to learn and grow. If we donÂ’t take the time to sharpen the “axe”, we will become dull and lose our effectiveness. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WHAT MATTERS MOST IN OUR LIVES? HOW DO WE FOCUS IN A FOREST OUT THERE TAKING ALL OUR TIME? WHAT IS IMPORTANT ANYHOW? How to Sharpen Our Spiritual Focus Our physical eyes cannot focus on two things at the same time. The same is true of our spiritual vision. Focusing on things of the present system will surely put GodÂ’s promised new world somewhat out of focus in our minds. In time, this blurred, peripheral image may lose its appeal and simply disappear from view. What a tragedy that would be! (Luke 21:34) How important, therefore, that we keep a ‘simple eye’—one that stays focused on GodÂ’s Kingdom and the reward of everlasting life!—Matthew 6:22 Keeping a simple eye is not always easy. Day-to-day problems demand our attention, and distractions—even temptations—may lie in our path. Under these circumstances, how can we stay focused on the Kingdom and GodÂ’s promised new world without neglecting other necessary activities? Let us consider three ways. Study GodÂ’s Word daily. Regular reading of the Bible and study of Bible-based publications help us to keep our minds centered on spiritual matters. True, we may have been studying GodÂ’s Word for years, but we must continue to study it, just as we need to keep eating physical food in order to sustain our lives. We do not stop eating simply because we have eaten thousands of meals in the past. So regardless of how familiar we are with the Bible, we need an ongoing, regular intake of spiritual nourishment from it in order to keep our hope bright and our faith and love strong.—Psalm 1:1-3 Meditate appreciatively on GodÂ’s Word. Why is meditation essential? For two reasons. First, meditation enables us to assimilate what we read and to develop heart appreciation for it. Second, meditation prevents us from forgetting Jehovah, his wonderful works, and the hope he has set before us. Thus, when reading the Scriptures or Bible study aids, take time to meditate on what you read. Such reflection is vital to your spiritual health and growth. For example, when reading Psalm 106, quoted above in part, meditate on JehovahÂ’s qualities. Feel JehovahÂ’s anguish and pain as his mercy and patience were stretched to the very limit by a people who were callously unappreciative. Apply Bible principles in your life. As we follow Bible principles, we see for ourselves that JehovahÂ’s counsel works. Proverbs 3:5, 6 says: “Trust in Jehovah with all your heart and do not lean upon your own understanding. In all your ways take notice of him, and he himself will make your paths straight.” May the Kingdom hope energize you, and may it brighten your days as it is reflected in your thoughts, feelings, decisions, and activities.(Proverbs 15:15) DonÂ’t I look like “Honest Abe?”

  13. Are You Angry? - Tried to Forgive but Can't? Read this it Will Help You! ~ ???? “Continue putting up with one another and forgiving one another freely.” (Colossians 3:13) ‘MAY YOUR PEACE RETURN TO YOUÂ’ ???? SOME EXPRESSIONS EXPLAINED Offended: If you feel offended, you are angry or hurt because someone treated you in a way you did not like. ???? Forgive: To stop feeling angry or upset over the wrong conduct of someone else. This does not mean that we have to approve of the wrong conduct or pretend that the conduct did not hurt others. When we forgive, it helps us to feel peaceful inside. ???? Jehovah will not be willing to forgive us if we do not truly forgive others. (Matthew 18:35) ???? We are imperfect and sin often. It is not possible for us to obey Jehovah perfectly. But he is willing to forgive us. In fact, he is willing to act as if our sins never happened. So if we want to be a friend of Jehovah, we must forgive other people. ???? This is what Jesus meant when he said in the Sermon on the Mount: “If you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; whereas if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” (Matthew 6:14, 15) - Bible Speaks Matthew 6:14 New King James Version (NKJV) 14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 16. Big Headed Caterpillar is it Real? ~ ????? Take a look at this photo. I thought it looked like something right out of a Disney Pixar movie or something. Why would a caterpillar need a head that large? (Hey, I bet it would work great as a fish lure!!) Anyway, despite my misgivings, it turns out this animal is real! It’s called a “Big Headed Caterpillar of Phyllodes imperialis”. IÂ’m afraid to ask what that is going to grow into! Turns out Phyllodes imperialis is a group of fruit sucking moths, and this is one of them in its caterpillar stage. Native to Australia (northern Queensland), Papua New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands, these feisty bugs present a formidable demeanor when bothered by animals hunting for food. It draws itself up and stretches its skin until it looks like a large animal with two blue-black eyes and several rows of teeth between them. HereÂ’s a closer shot of that: When the time comes, this caterpillar spins itself into a cocoon, and undergoes its metamorphosis into the Fruit Sucking Moth itÂ’s destined to be. Not much is known about these caterpillars/moths as they live in dense rainforests in the areas mentioned and havenÂ’t been studied to the extent that scientists would like. ????? http://visitcryptoville.com/2012/10/12/big-headed-caterpillar-real-or-hoaxed/ Some Of Creation is Funny! 18. What can Man and Woman Learn from Swans? ~ ? Marriage Should Be a Permanent Bond - Why is Man and Woman not as Innocent as Swans? - There are No Fairy Tales! - JUDGING by the conclusion of many movies, marriage is a desirable goal. Often, the man and the woman finally get together, get married, and live “happily ever after.” In films, that is usually the end of the story. In reality, the wedding is, not the end, but the beginning of a new life together. And hopefully, as Ecclesiastes 7:8 says, “better is the end afterward of a matter than its beginning.” After the Wedding Day It has rightly been said that in the life of a Christian, marriage is second in importance only to his or her dedication to God. The latter binds one to the Creator forever, and baptism makes that publicly manifest. Marriage is the public declaration of commitment to another person—forever. It is unthinkable either to dedicate oneself to God or to forge a marriage bond while having serious reservations. Therefore, those contemplating marriage do well to examine carefully the prospective mate’s beliefs, goals, attitudes, and disposition. - Bible Speaks

  22. Do You Have a Broken Heart? ~ ? "I am put out of their heart and forgotten, as if I were dead; I am like a broken jar." (Ps. 31:12) ? "May Jehovah be praised, For he has heard my pleas for help. Jehovah is my strength and my shield; In him my heart trusts. I have received his help, and my heart rejoices." (Ps.28:6,7) ? “Those that are broken at heart.” In some cultures, “a broken heart” has reference to unrequited love. But the psalmistÂ’s words refer to “more general grief and sorrow,” says one scholar. ? Yes, even faithful worshippers of God may at times experience extreme hardships that break their heart. “Those who are crushed in spirit.” ? Discouraged ones may become so low in their own eyes that they momentarily lose all hope. A handbook for Bible translators says that this expression may be rendered “those who have nothing good to look forward to.” ? How does Jehovah respond to those who are “broken at heart” and “crushed in spirit”? Does he keep distant from them, feeling that they are unworthy of his love and attention? On the contrary! ? Like a loving parent who holds and comforts a child in distress, Jehovah is near to his worshippers who cry out to him for help. He is eager to comfort and soothe their broken heart and crushed spirit. He can give them the wisdom and strength needed to cope with any trials they may face. (2 Corinthians 4:7; James 1:5) ? Why not find out how you can draw closer to Jehovah? This compassionate God promises: “I reside . . . with the one crushed and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly ones and to revive the heart of the ones being crushed.” (Isaiah 57:15) ? Suggested Bible reading: ? Psalms 26-59 Excellent to Read if you have a broken heart or know of someone that does. - Bible Speaks ?
