I knew an anointed brother in Jacksonville who stepped down shortly after being appointed because he said his large family and his other obligations to Jehovah were more important.  
Not all in first century qualified for being an elder. The scripture in Titus clearly indicates that one cannot use a new brother.  So maybe after a time every man who is steadfast will eventually qualify BUT it does not mean that they do not have a choice in the matter.

Of course if God wanted it that way it would happen, but i don't think it is God's plan of action. 
We can all have ideas of our own, and we can all have opinions of other people's ideas, but in the end it will be what God chooses to happen through Christ. 
I think the GB / Org say that JWs will be told to do the most unexpected things and must obey without question. I think they mention Moses and the Red Sea..........
Right now with this virus around anything could happen. The virus isn't exactly a 'sign' but it could cause a lot of changes inside and outside of the CCJW.

I just calculated if 16000 planes took 200 Jws each, it would be 3 200 000 of us.
And if one plane landed every 30 minutes it would take 333 days. We would need 10 runway to do that in a month.

Very sad news that anyone should get this horrible virus, and even worse that they should die from it.
But there is the wonderful hope of the resurrection which will bring good health and much better living conditions.

And your statment above is exactly what I have thought also. 
Thankfully the first wave of Covid is slowing down and reversing in some places.
So soon it should become possible to flee to the wilderness as fortold in Revelation 12. 
I would expect that there will be cheep flights in the beginning.  Because the airtraffic is so reduced. If a group of witnesses book a whole plane we would get it cheep.
I prayed a few years ago and asked Jehovah to let me understand where that wilderness is and He led my thoughts at once to an area in Far North Australia. To be exact, to an area near the towns Croydon and Georgetown.

I started using hydroxychloroquine combined with zink  a second time.  I used it during my first illness.  This disease comes back if you are weak......
On Monday I had stress with breathing.... but after a couple of hours started feeling better.  I had terrible pain in the trachea.
My husband bought a nebulizer and I put a mixture of  3 percent hydrogen peroxide ( only third part of it mixed with water). The released oxygen O3.... kills all viriusses and relieves the pain.
I am using it three times a day...... due to my immunity disorder I got the cytokine explosion in some other organs and bones having some pain.  I am now working to clear this up. 
Jehovah has been kind.... I did have a period of frightening distress. (Got ready to go to hospital) but both therapies combined relieved this.... so keep it in mind if any of you get sick.
The nebulizer is a brilliant idea..... I read about it but my husband did more thorough research and went to buy it. Apparently this nebulizing of O3 enventually gets to other parts of the body as well.  Healing many problems due to the oxygen.
We bought a few boxes of the hydroxychloroquine here in Rep. Georgia a few days before Trump advertised it..... we wanted to buy more this week but no pharmacies have it in stock now. I guess the govt put a prohibition on its sale.

Update on that: this morning (during zoom meeting for FS) our group overseer gave us new numbers from our CO. This is from April 17th, so just two days after the report I posted earlier. Over 1000 are infected and 250 dead in the USA. Of course these numbers are not going to stay constant unfortunately, so today the numbers may already be higher. 
This is not special or privileged information by the way. Circuit Overseers have obviously been asked to share this.

I am not 100% sure but I am assuming it would have been the HQ at Warwick. I received this info in another language, from the CO in that country. I cannot verify the accuracy of it, but from experience these things are usually correct.....

When I was a teenager, as a Senior in High School, circa 1964-1966, I had a half-day part time job to 11 PM at night. I saved up $320 and bought a Nikon F 35mm camera., one of the best in the world at that time.  They did not pay me to advertise, so I put a strip of black electrical tape over the logo on the front.
When my wife and I go to "famous" restaurants that sell their logo T-shirts, I exclaim loudly "Oh Look!, they will pay me $15.95 to wear their advertising!"
I get "looks" from the cashier, and cringes from my wife, who wants to hide.
 

Abominable is the wrong word...... and I would not call it a bracelet for luck either. 
The youth like trinkets..... It is definitely not as expensive as real jewelery stones and an alternative to other symbols such as the star of David. 
My husband has worn  Harley Davidson T-shirts going to the shop and many people wear Lacoste, Nike etc.  I have had handbags with a brand name on them - but these were not very obvious.  
Having something with a brand name does not necessarily indicate worship of the brand.  As an older person I do not care much for brand items but one can become so picky on the young kids so that one can take pleasure and individuality out of their  life... Live and let live is a good motto.
If it is something which is similar to worship or a sign such as a swastica,  ying-yang symbol or other  religious symbols or  buddha head, film star,  then one can make a case against it.
LOVE builds up...... when in doubt...... show love.

I dislike this stuff. I am not a billboard and have never worn anything with a logo on it. It even took me a while to get with the program on wearing our badges during convention time when out and about, though I eventually did it.
The goal is to advertise the convention, and I can get my head around that. Alas, one brother didn’t quite get the sense of it. He worked in trucking, putting him sweaty and in tee shirt—he could not have looked more like a slob—overweight to boot—after the convention, and there he was at the restaurant, badge pinned to his belly.
