Anna got a reaction from Evacuated in Questions about instructions given to elders regarding accusations of child sexual abuse
I don't see anything in those instructions that prohibit the elders from informing the new congregation. All it says is to inform the legal department first. The pertinent question is what kind of direction do the elders receive back from the legal department.....
I just realised @Gone Away gave a similar answer....

Fear not. In my upcoming movie I have devoted myself to realism:
With seconds to spare because the evil ones are hot on his heels and will discover his whereabouts presently, our hero locates the Master Computer. He breaks through layers of security as though passing through a subway turnstile. He locates the file that will save the planet and send the bad guys to prison for 1000 years. He hits the download key. He twiddles his thumbs as he waits and wait and waits. His nemesis both finds him and shoots him through the head, as the machine chokes on adware, malware, battling virus software, operating system updates, and random reboots to digest it all. The world goes up in flames as the villains grin ear to ear.
How do you think I manage to sneak up on @James Thomas Rook Jr. and kick him in the rear so often?

This has to be the best off topic entry ever!
And have you noticed (in the movies)
Everyone has a black umbrella if it rains at a funeral People always leave car keys behind the sun shade Computer passwords and even government systems are always hackable in seconds or minutes You can nearly always park just where you need to Single bullets can spectacularly explode cars Friends, (and others) can often just walk into houses People are always having dreams that make them sit bolt upright in bed Gangs often walk four abreast in rows whether goodies or villains Nobody ever finishes their breakfast Heroes can often shoot rifles accurately one-handed, but baddies demolish walls and ceilings with automatic assault rifles Pedestrians always jump out of the way of reckless drivers, even if they are driving on the pavement Ventilation shafts are often accessible, human sized, well-lit, spotless and go anywhere you want People often clean their teeth without toothpaste, in fact only villains have bad teeth. And regardless of overall dirty appearance, goodie's teeth are perfectly white and dentally manicured. News reports about you always start as soon as you turn on the TV, even though someone told you it was on already

And I made it look like I was blaming you. Sorry. As I recall, you had already defended yourself very well a few hundred posts back in this thread. They even talked about threaded replies. And I knew it wasn't your fault from the start. I've been asked to split off several threads myself, and I always have trouble with the fact that the initial post is the oldest relevant post that can be added to the thread so it looks like that person started the new thread. It gives the impression that some innocent person had deemed a side-track topic to be important enough for its own thread.

IT was the librarian, he was punishing me for not sticking to a topic. Now it looks like I started this thread. I would never start a topic with a title like that.

I think it is just that they developed or came across something that they thought entitled them to drive the bus. They left when they discovered that they would not be allowed to. In some cases they were caught red-handed trying to hotwire the bus.
In the end it is a too high opinion of oneself and one’s wisdom that sinks one. The worship and deeds of Jehovah’s Witnesses, magnified by their organized quality, either appeal to the heart or they don’t.

The problem with that is that sometimes in someone's eyes you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. And what someone calls being stumbled, someone else calls being strengthened, by exactly the same thing. I suppose it all boils down to attitude and :
    Colossians  3:13
"Continue putting up with one another and forgiving one another freely even if anyone has a cause for complaint against another. Just as Jehovah freely forgave you, you must also do the same. 14  But besides all these things, clothe yourselves with love, for it is a perfect bond of union."

I don't look at it that way. Blood fractions are left up to conscience because it is a grey area for some. And when something is a grey area then one shouldn't impose ones' views. Humans were not capable of separating blood into fractions when the prohibitive scripture was written.
YES. This is also why many Witnesses won't accept blood fractions, their conscience tells them it is still blood, even if its a fractional part of it.
Eating a bloody steak is also a conscience matter.

As long as the circulation is not interrupted, a Jehovah's witness MAY conscientously submit to the use of a cell saver.

"Cell salvage in South Tees NHS Trust
Currently the trust has five cell salvage machines. Four are on loan from the company which supply cell salvage equipment, and one is owned by the trust after it was donated by Jehovah’s Witness. The trust pays for the consumables that are used each time cell salvage is performed. The funding for this service comes from the pathology department."   https://www.southtees.nhs.uk/services/anaesthetics-and-theatre/theatres/cell-salvage/

I suppose it is more a question of would a Jehovah's witness want this sort of treatment?
"Autologous Conditioned Plasma or ACP, as it is more commonly known, is plasma that is rich in platelets. Another closely related procedure uses Platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Blood is extracted from a patient and then ACP/PRP is extracted using the process of centrifugation. ACP/PRP is usually used in order to facilitate the process of regeneration in orthopaedic and surgical procedures."
"For the patient, the process is pretty much similar to a regular blood test. A small sample of blood is extracted from the patient’s body using a syringe – just like in a blood test. The blood is drawn from a superficial vein in a small quantity. After the blood is drawn, the role of a patient is over – temporarily. This blood is then passed through the process of centrifugation (rapid spinning to separate out the different elements of the blood). In this process, the autologous conditioned plasma is separated from other components present in the blood. After the ACP/PRP is conditioned, it is then injected back into the body of the patient at the point where it is needed"        http://www.londonorthopaedic.com/specialties/autologous-conditioned-plasma-acp/
    1. It is a primary blood componet (as are platelets).
    2. It is made from the patient's own blood (Autologous).
    3. It is separated from the patients circulatory system, processed in a centrifuge, returned later to the patient's body.
Point 3 would be the determining factor in making such a treatment unacceptable to one of Jehovah's witnesses.

I prefer scriptural quotes on such serious matters. Joel 2:32 is pretty relevant (for me) "And everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved"  Peter and Paul referred to this at Acts 2:32 and Rom.10:13.
I may be missing your logic on this, but to me a "Jehovah's Witness ... branded as "devious, (self- the paper misquotes the judge) righteous and arrogant" would render erroneous a claim that only Jehovah's Witnesses would be saved. Religious designations don't save people.

I am not saying that the GB tell lies. It's very easy to get caught up in a style of speaking and writing as if we know we must be right and that only our current explanation is correct.
Doctrines are NOT promoted because a member of the GB (or Writing Dept) is thinking about whether a certain doctrine might be right or wrong, it's just that they have already accepted that it MUST be right because people before them presented it as if it must be right. If we are "puppets" that follow along without questioning, then so have been most members of the GB. They follow the persons who came before because they never saw a reason not to. If our doctrines are obviously correct about Trinity, Hellfire, Neutrality, New Earth, Preaching, God's Name, etc., then our more questionable doctrines (Blood, Chronology, Higher Education, etc) must also be absolutely right by default. The GB would have no more reason to question them than we would. What makes some doctrines finally get questioned and corrected is almost always the inability to answer a specific question about that doctrine that gets sent to the Society.
But sometimes such questions are TOO disturbing and will not be dealt with, except by looking for reasons to punish the person who asked, and I would have to admit that this reaction is very wrong. Unfortunately, this is how some humans have always reacted to those who would question established traditions.
On the other hand, it takes a lot of humility to make changes to long-established ("deeply entrenched") doctrines. It doesn't mean that we or they (GB) were lying when we accepted and promoted the former doctrines. We just weren't "making sure of all things." More and more changes of this nature have been made in the last 10 to 20 years, and they are tending to clear up many of the doctrinal inconsistencies.

@Anna Unfortunately abuse is very high in the UK, which isn't too far from the knife/hate crimes. You have people who blame all British for this, but a simple minded person who be focused on single person, not throw all men and women into one category.

But it is what it is with how people are, thus they continue to dig their heads into the sand.
