Cheating is ok?

Is cheating allowed if the one cheated on is not a witness? Seems that way. She hasn't told her elders and is waiting for me to file divorce papers to tell anyone she knows. Is this a tatic to hide her infidelity and place the blame on me? Doesn't really matter what I have or have not done. By the way, no physical abuse, no abuse at all. We just didn't see eye to eye like every couple on the planet from time to time. I never stopped her from going, nor did I stop our children from going with her. I'm really thinking this is normal behavior for jws. I mean her mom did the same as well as her older sister.

I've forgiven her and am not mad at her any longer. It was her choice, not mine. She chose to do this to our family. I have talked to her and explained this to her already. There is no reconciliation possible. I'm just flabbergasted that she would throw her family away like this.

Will she be disfellowshiped?

Marital infidelity is the same whether it was another Witness involved or not. The offending spouse may or may not be disfellowshipped. That depends on a lot of circumstances, including especially the level of perceived repentance, whether hidden or confessed, attitude toward the Biblical counsel and suggestions given, the evidence of the person to make a complete change based on their statements and even their activity levels in the congregation.

Also, although this is sometimes claimed to be a factor in the decision to disfellowship, the desire to force circumstances in order to get away from a spouse someone who might be deemed spiritually dangerous should not be a factor.

I am so sorry for your difficulties, Shiwiii.  I hope your children will be okay.  I have seen a case where a reproof is all that is done and the sister later married her new love (a JW) after divorcing the father of her children.  Interestingly, her children tried to talk sense into her using what they had learned from the bible.  They are now out of the organization, having nothing to do with their own spirituality as well as their father, who was also a JW.  The sister, on the other hand, is still a JW, along with her new husband.

I will keep you in prayer.

"And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.  And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.  But the one who endures to the end will be saved.  And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."  Matt 24:11-14

The love of many will grow cold, as the result of lawlessness - a falling away from the commandments of Christ – to love one another as oneself, and to love God with our whole heart, soul, mind; both of which the organization cannot boast of doing.

Take comfort in knowing, Shiwiii, that the true gospel being preached is the coming of Christ and the call to “come out of her my people” (Rev 18:4-8) and repent for our sins, as the New Covenant reaches fulfillment. As JWs look for the “Great Tribulation” still to come, they have no clue how the heart and soul undergo a tribulation when issues like your own, as well as choosing truth in Christ over the lies in the organization, affects the person.  In my opinion, the Great Tribulation is underway and hearts are making their choice based on their own desires – to serve God or man.

Most certainly you are in my prayers.
