Funeral services for Mrs. Norma Naydon Dowell, 86, of Kilgore will be held Monday, July 25, at 10 a.m. in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with Brother Ronny Walden officiating. Burial will follow at the Kilgore Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6-8 p.m.

Naydon was born March 27, 1930 in Seminole, Okla.,a daughter of the late Thomas Franklin Oliver and Nannie Rebecca Chapman Oliver. She passed away peacefully at her son’s home in Kilgore at 6 p.m. on July 21, 2016.

Naydon was a successful business woman owning and operating her own carpet cleaning business, Pioneer Carpet Cleaning, after her husband’s death in 1991. She was baptized as a one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1959 and remained active in her ministry until her death.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Morgan Dowell; son, Thomas Charles Dowell; daughter-in-law, Patricia Lee Dowell, and grandson, Michael Shane Dowell.

Mrs. Dowell was the 11th of 13 children and is survived by one sister, Nanette Rebecca Oliver Davis of Houston; sons, David Morgan Dowell, and Donald Michael Dowell and wife Brenda; one daughter, Connie Naydon Dowell; three grandchildren, David Marcus Dowell and wife Leeanna, Daniel Adam Dowell and wife Jennifer, and Patricia Breanna Speer and husband Biff; five great-grandchildren, Patricia Ashlyn Domorad, Derek Aiden Domorad, Aspyn Jolee Domorad, Morgan Britt Dowell, and Carter Macon Dowell; and special mention of lifelong friends Wanda Sherfield and Betty Clinton.
