Janet M. (Hopkins) Packer of Wareham passed away Oct. 3 at Tobey Hospital. She was 70 years old. Janet was born in Brockton on March 4, 1946 to the late Irvin and Eunice (Townes) Hopkins. She attended King Philip High School in Wrentham where she enjoyed playing the clarinet in the marching band. She worked at Automatic Machine in Attleboro for more than 20 years. Janet was a faithful member of the Buzzard’s Bay Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where she will be fondly remembered for her lovely voice.

Janet is survived by her husband Walter Packer of Wareham and her children Christine Elven and husband Jeffrey of Danbury, Connecticut, William Packer and wife Kelly of Chesterville, Maine, Robert Packer and fiancé Cheryl and Jason Packer, all of Wareham. She is also survived by her siblings Nancy Plante, Linda Bickford, Robert Hopkins and Charlene Howell, her five grandchildren Jonathon, Tiffany, Kelsey, Aaron and Steven, and one great-grandson, Iyden.

A memorial service for Janet will be held at 2 p.m. on Oct. 8, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 29 Armory Road, Buzzards Bay, MA 02532. To leave a message of condolence for the family, visit www.warehamvillagefuneralhome.com. Interment will be private.
