The current flying car prototype AeroMobil 3.0 incorporates significant improvements and upgrades. It is now being tested in real flight conditions since October 2014. Initially certified by the Slovak Federation of Ultra-Light Flying, it now entered a regular flight-testing program.

The AeroMobil 3.0 prototype is very close to the final product. It is predominantly built from the same materials as the final product, such as advanced composite materials for the body shell, wings, and wheels. It also contains all the main features that will be incorporated into the final product, such as avionics equipment, autopilot and an advanced parachute deployment system.

Yeah ... one time in England I was minding my own business, driving on the wrong side of the road, and turned into a Petrol Station.

You just cannot take off and land this thing from a Freeway .... you still have to fly in and out of airports.

For the daily INTEREST on 1.5 million dollars, you could have a limousine and driver waiting for you at both ends of the trip, and have money left over.

.... not to mention the cost of collision insurance for a 1.5 million dollar car, where a 5mph "fender bender" could cost  a hundred thousand dollars in airframe repair.

This may physically be done,  but they way things are ... probably should not.

Can you imagine trying to park this thing on ANY city street?

@James Thomas Rook Jr.  What you say above is very true.

It's not just the vehicle that would need to be built but even an even larger problem would be changing the infrastructure to fit it.

Tesla has experienced this already with their superchargers everywhere.

I recently pulled into one to ask an owner how they felt.... and for longer trips than can fill up at about 250 miles per hour.

If you have a LONG trip that would add potentially 2 hours of "sitting time" versus just filling up with gas and moving on down the road.

It only works for round trip commutes of less than 130 miles or so because of the waiting time.

And the "fill ups" at home only allow for daily round trip commutes of about 30-50 miles off of a standard plug.

It would be nice that human change life style and system to such level that "sitting time" be time for rest, for fun, for not to be in hurry, for learning something new, for introduce new people ... :) looks like i am not belonging to digital era :))))
