Sonja Laraine Minor, 40, of Helena-West Helena, died Nov. 9, 2016 in Southaven, Mississippi.

Sonja was born March 10, 1976 to Zelda Roberson and John Henry Minor in Helena. She graduated from Central High School in Helena-West Helena in 1994 and after receiving her degree as a medical lab technician, she went on to work at Helena Regional Medical Center for 13 years until her health failed.

Her greatest joy in life was when she symbolized her dedication to Jehovah by getting baptized on Aug. 2, 2014 in Evansville, Illinois.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Shakari Williams and son, Ahmari Kelley; her mother, Zelda Roberson; her father, John Minor (Matlean); her brothers, Avery "Pooh" Minor of Orlando, Florida, James Minor (Yvonne) of Austell, Georgia; Ivory Minor of Irving, Texas; Kevin Minor of Lexa: and a sister, Gloria Minor of Helena-West Helena; and a host of other beloved relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held today from 4 to 6 p.m. at Kincaid Funeral Services East Chapel. The funeral will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Helena-West Helena.
