Bobbie Dean Johns (Bob), passed away peacefully in his sleep Nov. 18, 2016 after a battle with cancer.

Bob was born Aug. 10, 1929 in Duncan OK to Mervin and Jimmie Johns. He grew up in Bakersfield CA.

He married Shirley Mowrey, of New Jersey, on Oct. 11, 1951. They just celebrated 65 years of marriage.

Bob was an avid fisherman with many stories to tell. Fish were scared when they heard his name. He was a resident of Gardnerville since 1978 and a meticulous building contractor

of custom homes.

He was very active in his faith and ministry as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

He was a kind, gentle man with a great sense of humor. He had a joke or story for everyone he met.

Bob is survived by his wife Shirley, daughters Cheri Blackford and Bobbie Garden, all of Gardnerville. Five grandchildren and seven (one deceased) great-grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service Dec. 3, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1151 Kimmerling Road, Gardnerville, Nevada.
