Falsos misioneros fueron sorprendidos en aduana chilena con nueve kilos de marihuana

Fiscalizadores del Servicio Nacional de Aduanas sorprendieron en el complejo fronterizo de Chacalluta, en el norte de Chile, a dos falsos misioneros que transportaban casi nueve kilos de marihuana.

Según un comunicado de la entidad, se trataba de una pareja de colombianos que viajaba con la excusa de visitar templos en Arica y en sus maletas y una mochila llevaban numerosas revistas religiosas y biblias.

Ambos estaban impecablemente vestidos y al momento de ser fiscalizados indicaron ser misioneros y que viajaban a Arica para visitar templos de los Testigos de Jehová.

Aunque la historia parecía creíble y los viajeros incluso portaban biblias con anotaciones y frases seleccionadas, el aduanero que los entrevistó consideró que algo no estaba bien y al tocar las maletas detectó irregularidades en la estructura, por lo cual se apoyó con un perro detector de drogas que confirmó la presencia de estupefacientes.

Ambos extranjeros de 54 y 44 años, respectivamente y cuyas identidades no se dieron a conocer, fueron trasladados hasta una sala especial de revisión y si bien insistían en que eran predicadores, repentinamente dejaron de hablar sobre temas religiosos y guardaron silencio.

Al abrir una de las maletas, los fiscalizadores hallaron un doble fondo con dos paquetes que contenían casi tres kilos de marihuana. Posteriormente, al intervenir la mochila sacaron seis paquetes con casi seis kilos de la hierba.

El director regional de la Aduana de Arica, Roberto Romero Alegría, dijo a los periodistas que el valor de la droga incautada supera los 44 millones de pesos en el comercio ilícito.

Los viajeros incluso portaban biblias con anotaciones y frases seleccionadas.
