Martha Davis, 66, widow of Joseph J. Davis, died on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at Palmetto Health Tuomey. Born in Sumter County on Dec. 12, 1949, she was the daughter of Nimrod and Martha Singleton Dargon. Martha, affectionately known as "Micki," received her education in the New York City School System. Later she attended night school, earning her associate's degree in accounting. For 25 years, she worked at AIG Co. as an accounting supervisor.

On May 10, 2015, she was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was a member of the North Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses, where she was faithful and joyful in her service to Jehovah.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Martha Singleton Dargon of Rembert; two daughters, Lynda Sabrina Hall of Manhattan, New York, and Dana Pauline Davis of Staten Island, New York; one brother, Richard Dargon of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Linda Carter of Manhattan, New York, and Gardenia Dargon of Durham, North Carolina; four uncles; five aunts; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, North Congregation, 2280 Thomas Sumter Highway, Sumter.

The family is receiving relatives and friends at her home, 555 Camden Highway, Sumter.

The procession will leave from the home at 12:20 p.m.
