ROCKDALE — Services for Chester Zarnicki, 94, of Milano and formerly of Brazoria will be 10 a.m. today at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Burial will be in Milano Cemetery.

Mr. Zarnicki died Saturday, Jan. 28.

He was born May 24, 1922, to Valenty and Caroline Zarnicki in Standard, Ill. After high school, he entered the U.S. Army Air Corps and served during World War II. He was discharged at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio as a technical sergeant. On March 13, 1943, he married Lillian Holdiness in San Antonio. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He retired as a mechanical engineer. He was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Cameron.

He was preceded in death by his wife on June 22, 2008.

Survivors include two daughters, Caroline Roessler of Friendswood and Valerie Taylor of Cedar Park; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
