Herschel Fredrick Jenkins, 89, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, in Panama City Beach, Fla.

He was employed at Picket Hardware in Greenfield for almost 30 years, where he was affectionately called the“Singing Hardware Man”. He retired from The Paddock in Knightstown, Indiana at the age of 67.

For the last 47 years he was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He had served as an elder at the Knightstown Congregation. Fred followed the example set by Jesus Christ by teaching others about Jehovah’s Kingdom and the hope of the resurrection.

He is survived by four children, sons, Stephen Jenkins and Timothy Jenkins; daughters, Connie Thomas and Michelle Bradburn. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Millicent Jean (Macy) Jenkins; his daughter, Diana; a granddaughter, Angela; and two great-granddaughters.

Please join us in a memorial for Fred and learn more about his hope for the future. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 pm. on Saturday, March 11 at Knightstown Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 9002 West US 40, Knightstown, IN, 46148. A Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
