EXPERTS OF THE MINISTRY OF JUSTICE POSIT THAT JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES ARE CLEARLY TIED TO U.S.A.

The activity of the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses is clearly tied to the U.S.A.; after all, their headquarters are located there. According to some information, they have much property in Russia also, experts in the Russian Ministry of Justice who were questioned by RIA Novosti declare.

 

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court of the RF is considering a lawsuit by the Russian Ministry of Justice to find Russian Jehovah's Witnesses to be an extremist organization and to ban its activity on the territory of Russia. In particular, the Ministry of Justice requested the confiscation of the property of the parent organization of Jehovists in the Russian federation.

 

"This is a sect of American origin, clearly tied to America. It is inclined to hostility to many states, including Russia, but they are not hostile to America, since it is there that their headquarters are located (in New York—ed.)," Roman Silantiev, a member of the Expert Council for Conducting State Religious Studies Expert Analysis under the Ministry of Justice, told RIA Novosti.

 

According to his information, the Jehovah's Witnesses have much property in Russia.

 

"They have their center outside St. Petersburg, in the village of Solnechny.  This is a rather substantial acreage with buildings on it. Plus, many of the registered organizations own parcels of land on which they build Kingdom Halls, their houses of worship," noted in his turn Alexander Dvorkin, the president of the Russian Association of Centers for Study of Religions and Sects and member of the Expert Council for Conducting State Religious Studies Expert Analysis under the Ministry of Justice.
