"He did on a grand scale what was bad in the eyes of Jehovah." (2 Chron. 33:6)

"Ma·nasʹseh was 12 years old when he became king, and he reigned for 55 years in Jerusalem.

"He did what was bad in Jehovah’s eyes, following the detestable practices of the nations that Jehovah had driven out from before the people of Israel.

"He rebuilt the high places that his father Hez·e·kiʹah had torn down,

he set up altars to the Baʹals and made sacred poles, and he bowed down to all the army of the heavens and served them.

"He also built altars in the house of Jehovah, about which Jehovah had said: “In Jerusalem my name will be forever.”

"And he built altars to all the army of the heavens in two courtyards of the house of Jehovah."

And he made his own sons pass through the fire in the Valley of the Son of Hinʹnom;

he practiced magic, used divination, practiced sorcery, and appointed spirit mediums and fortune-tellers. He did on a grand scale what was bad in Jehovah’s eyes, to offend him.

"He put the carved image that he made into the house of the true God

about which God had said to David and to his son Solʹo·mon: “In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will permanently put my name."

 "And I will never again remove the feet of Israel from the land that I assigned to their forefathers, provided they carefully observe all that I have commanded them, the entire Law, the regulations and the judicial decisions given through Moses.”

Ma·nasʹseh kept leading Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem astray, causing them to do worse than the nations that Jehovah had annihilated from before the Israelites.

10 "Jehovah kept speaking to Ma·nasʹseh and his people, but they paid no attention."

 11 So Jehovah brought against them the army chiefs of the king of As·syrʹi·a, and they captured Ma·nasʹseh with hooks and bound him with two copper fetters and took him to Babylon.

12 "In his distress, he begged Jehovah his God for favor and kept humbling himself greatly before the God of his forefathers. 13 He kept praying to Him, and He was moved by his entreaty and heard his request for favor, and He restored him to Jerusalem to his kingship.

Then Ma·nasʹseh came to know that Jehovah is the true God."

(2 Chron.33:1-13).

I have four children and I cannot imagine the heartache resulting should one of them die. Yet here, Manasseah willingly scarified some of his children to a false god as a burnt sacrifice. (King Ahaz did the same thing). No wonder the law of Jehovah was to remove anybody guilty of such a thing from the nation as that action was detestable to him (Jehovah)

Even though Manaasseah repented and turned back to Jehovah, he could not undo what had been done. He could not bring his sons back from the dead. However, they would be in line for a resurrection on a paradise earth when all things will be made new. Imagine that family reunion.

@David Normand

Yes, he must have still pain allhis his life! But knowing Jehovah now forgave him made him rejoice to know that he would see his Sons one day. All tears ? will be no more. What a loving God Jehovah is, he could have destroyed him instantly, but could see deep in his heart.

Thank you for your encouraging thoughts.

Agape, ?????

    • By the way, if you're into stuff like this, you might wanna check out https://thepythagoras.com/. They have some neat articles about ancient civilizations and their contributions to science and math. It’s really interesting how much we owe to these early thinkers.
    • The Dendera Zodiac is such an amazing piece of history. Imagine ancient Egyptians looking up at the same stars we do now and creating this detailed map. It's mind-blowing! So, what do I think about it? I think it's a fascinating blend of art and astronomy. Those ancient folks really knew their stuff. The way they incorporated their gods and mythologies into the constellations is just brilliant. And it's not just about the stars, it’s a glimpse into how they viewed the universe and their place in it.
    • FIFA's collaboration with Algorand represents a significant milestone for blockchain technology. Algorand will serve as the official blockchain platform for FIFA, supporting events such as the FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in 2023 and the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022. This partnership is poised to enhance FIFA's digital asset management while boosting Algorand's visibility through advertising and promotional opportunities. On another note, I've been tuning into African football recently. The match between Kanifing East FC and Latrikunda United was unexpectedly impressive. African football often goes underappreciated, yet the skill and enthusiasm in these matches are evident. We can expect even more significant development and excitement in African football with increased attention and support.

Algorand will be the official blockchain platform for FIFA, sponsoring events like the FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in 2023 and the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022. This partnership will help FIFA with digital assets and provide advertising and promotional opportunities for Algorand.
