CHAMPAIGN – Geraldine "Geri" Delbert Peeples, 85, passed away on Wednesday (May 17, 2017) in Urbana.

She was born on Oct. 7, 1931, to Della E. Lowe in Champaign.

Geri is survived by her children, Jodi Collins, Robert Collins Jr. and Tracee (Fred Jr.) Palmer; grandchildren, Nita, Ebony, Robert III, Martin Jr., Dylan, Skylar, Diamond and Shaylan; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and half-siblings.

She was preceded in death by her mother; sons, Martin Collins, James Lowe and Stuart Peeples; and siblings, George "Bobby" Robert Moreland Jr., James Moreland, Maxine Lowe and Richard Lowe.

Geri enjoyed traveling, playing Scrabble, flower gardening and watching Chicago Bulls basketball. She loved the color purple.

Geri was a devoted Jehovah's Witness for over 55 years and had many dear friends at The Kingdom Hall.

A celebration of Geri's life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 26, at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1407 E. Scovill St., Urbana, IL 61801. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Funeral Home, 710 N. Neil St., Champaign. Interment will take place at Lincoln Cemetery in Urbana.

Memorial donations may be made in Geri's name to The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
